    Otherwise great
The theme song makes me want to kill my family. I eventually set my player (Overcast) to skip the intro and outro so that I don’t have to hear it a anymore.

    Poor Mic Quality
Sother and Greg! Please invest in some quality microphones and recording/podcasting equipment. I started listening to the show many years ago but you guys have not evolved technically with the rest of the podcast world. Content is great but it’s painful to listen to such horrible audio quality. Greg especially- it sounds like you’re calling in from a pay phone inside a very large hollow room. I understand you stopped recording in person from Roberta’s when the pandemic hit, but that was four years ago now. For the sake of your listeners, please fix this!

    I love this show
It’s so fun to hear bartenders I’ve been a fan of chat. Haven’t tried the mountain Suze yet— weirdly, I can’t find Mountain Dew easily here in boston either?? And I just didn’t try as hard— but I did end up dusting off the Suze bottle at the back of my shelf & remembering how good it is on its own! Honestly this podcast gives me way too many ideas about what to try. #I❤️SE

Info & Entertainment in Every Episode
I found this podcast in a round about way but it’s quickly become one of my favorite spirits/bars/industry shows. The guys are fun to listen to, the guests are knowledgeable and engaging, and it’s obvious each show is well thought out and prepared for. A great listen!

    Usually Great
I’ve been listening to Speak Easy for many years. I love it. But, I just tried to listen to Ducks On The Water. Totally unlistenable because of background noise. Seriously, Souther? You’ve been doing this for a long time. You should have it down, technically, by now. The young lady in the piece sounded enthusiastic and fun and smart. But I’ll never know how much because of the noise. You couldn’t find a quiet spot to interview her?!? So, awesome podcast, but this particular one was let down by lack of preparation. If you don’t take the time to set up and do a nice sounding pod why should we spend the time to listen?

Damon and Sother are informative and fun, both good interviewers with great guests. Both have a great set of pipes too! (I mean their voices lol)

    Straight Up Addicting
I don’t recall how I first heard about this podcast, but now I can hardly go a day without listening. (Given that the show has been running for so many years, there’s no shortage of episodes to catch up on.) I typically listen to two episodes while I ride my bike — and I frequently find myself stopping to take notes. There’s so much knowledge to gain from listening to the discussions that Damon and Sother have with other industry folks, and in particular I love hearing about specific brands that I may have otherwise never explored in the crowded marketplace. I can’t recommend this show enough and I talk about it constantly to friends. Cheers to many more episodes, and hope to meet you guys before the end of the year.

    When visiting NY
My Son, who has been living in NY for nearly nine years now, and himself a Bartender, introduced me through his roommate Blake Walker, who is working the Bar@ Amor Y Amargo on the lower East side! So one night last December I went with Danny, and was amazed how a little place like that can create such an electrifying atmosphere! So when I visited again a couple of days later, by myself, I was treated like a VIP! Given I'm 65(not that this is ever an issue to me), it feels nice to feel welcome! I have been back last May, when I briefly met Sother, and could tell that he was not just an intelligent business man, but a gentleman. I cannot wait to visit the new place in Brooklyn come December! Giggles & Obsession
Obsession because I'm obsessed with this podcast. It's clever, thoughtful, curious, and fun. Giggles because that always is what I wind up doing while I'm listening - there are many reasons to chuckle and laugh as well. Bonus: I learn A LOT from these hosts and their guests!

    “The Sother Show”
Does anyone else ever tire of Sother Teague talking about himself/his endeavors? Damon was always the consummate host; he only allowed the guests to talk about him and his accolades. 5 stars Damon + 3 stars Sother = 4 stars. Great show, great guests, maybe just keep the overt self promotion to social media?

One of my favorite bartending podcasts by far.
They don’t take themselves to seriously, but still keep it informative.

    Simply fantastic
I've learned a ton from listening.
  • AwkwardHaiku
    Good, not great.
I've been listening for a little while now it's enjoyable, not super educational. More of a cocktail Drive-Time show than anything. Wisconsin Dairy Board really needs to keep sponsoring the show, I get a good chuckle out hearing Souther's stupid quib about milk and cheese. Also not a fan of him dropping anti-union sound bites every so often. There's a big world outside of lower Manhattan.
  • Irishgirl3011
Love it, but just a little constructive criticism
I have binge listened to the show & I do love the knowledge, guests & product info. The only constructive criticism I have is, and I'm not trying to be mean, is finish your thoughts better. There is a lot of stammering, "Well....I mean....umm....so....what I....so...." gets a little frustrating. But otherwise it's a great show! Cheers!

It’s “car talk” for bartenders. Amazing podcast. This has been incredibly helpful for me, as a bartender, by furthering my education and inspiring me. A++, 10 gold stars, 7 grammys, 5 james beard awards.

    Always entertaining & engaging
I'm biased, as I'm friends with Damon and many of his interviewees, but the booze tinged (if not soaked) anecdotes are always fun.
  • thehebug
amazing how have I missed this
I don't know how I never came across this podcast. Great guests, great host, great subject. I can't believe it's been on for over a year, I have a lot of catching up to do.
