I literally couldn’t listen to this. One guy was so quiet I had to turn the volume ip to hear him… then the other guy was so loud it hurt my ear. Had to stop listening. Would be nice if both had a similar volume.

I can’t listen to more than one or two episodes at a time because I’m laughing too hard

I love this podcast. My therapist literally recommended it to me because I needed to have more laughter in my life. The folks at my work may legitimately think I’ve lost my mind. Win some you lose some.

Dave and Gareth bring the funny to the already ridiculous history of mankind. I know I'm late to the party, but I just discovered this podcast and have become instantly addicted. I listen to it at my desk (I work in a warehouse, not recommended for CPAs and receptionists) and it helps cope with my horrendous hours. Also, you could stand to learn a little more stuff.

Dave Anthony is so funny! I like how he says stuff. I can tell that he knows how dumb people who lived in the past were. He hates the television show “The West Wing”. He thinks it was very important.

Jimmy dore has never been funny

Recently started listening and was starting to get pretty into them but they did an online gambling ad in a time where online gambling is really hitting its stride as an epidemic. Too bad.

I only like the live ones, I feel you guys are funnier with a crowd watching you, Dave is, and FOR SURE Gary, I mean Gareth is 10x funnier live than with the two of them alone. It’s been some months since you guys have let a live one out, please fix! You aren’t as funny sitting alone with mics in a garage.

My favorite podcast. Checks all of the boxes for me, informative, leftist, comedic. A lot of these stories should be taught in American schools but you won’t find a shred of ‘em. Check out Gareth’s other podcast point VS point for a good laugh. Keep up the good work boys, been listening since 2017. Anybody complaining about them being uninformed or anything like that is a moron and should be ignored. These podcasts are extensively researched and all of the sources are listed so you can go and research it yourself.

Super funny. Every episode is a must listen. A friendly request to improve the audio of guests on the Past Times. They must be coming in remotely via zoom or some app. They often sound much different and from a poor quality connection, and it’s too distracting. Send them a mic with a return shipping box and label or something.

I have enjoyed your podcasts, but recently Dave's repeated attempts to trash Jimmy Dore (at least once per episode) appear petty.

Been listening for years, love the show.

Was introduced to the show via the Cautionary Tales collaboration, but I only made it through 10 minutes of the Dollop. One of the hosts is really loud and the other host basically whispers through the podcast like he's trying ASMR. If you crank the volume, 10 seconds later your eardrums will explode while EVERYONE STARTS SHOUTING. The audio quality is also mediocre to poor. It sounds like they are recording on cheap mics without a robust lower register, so it feels like you're listening to them on super treble. Can't speak a lot to the content. The sound was so poor that I couldn't get past it. However, in the few minutes I listened, the whispery host tried to equate Winston Churchill with Hitler. This is the kind of thing an idiot would say when trying to sound provocative. I found my brief experience aggravating in every sense. Giving two stars instead of one because they were funny on Cautionary Tales, so go listen to that instead.

Unfunny and uninformed. And way too long. Don’t waste your time.

In a world where there’s one million numskulls doing 3 hour long podcasts of unfunny riffing, I don’t know why anyone would spend their time listening to this one. These guys try to desperately hard to be funny but nothing lands. Like the equivalent of that idiot classmate in grade school trying as hard as he can to make the class laugh over and over again but everyone just wishes he would shut up. They try to riff after every single sentence they read from their sheet. And they’re not funny at all! Obnoxious boneheads. Grow up!

You never knew history was this funny…don’t try more than two episodes unless you’re ready to be hooked. Dave Anthony has single-handedly given me permission to stand up for what I believe. Gareth Reynolds reps the Midwest—but will straight up make you piss yourself. My only request would be more reverse dollops. The bananas backwards podcasts are *chefs kiss* flawless. Muah! Dave is a shockingly satisfying recipient of whatever knowledge Gareth spills—and the unexpected table turn is so frickin hot.

Gareth I haven’t thought of the movie Radio since it came out. 🤣🤣

Gareth is amazing. Dave has lost his touch and isn’t funny at all when he tries to be. Really liked the podcast in the beginning years ago, but relistening to new stuff, Dave is pretty useless in the comedy department

Please involve Karen Kilgariff in all the new podcasts. It’s too good.

Good for laughs, but Dave is the epitome of the Dunning-Kruger effect when it comes to historical knowledge or understanding.. He really should talk to actual history majors before each episode. (Also, the Cabeza de Vaco episode should just be deleted and done over. )

I like when the smart guy tells the other guy something and that guy does a silly voice

Simply put, this is the greatest comedy podcast of all time. If you’ve never heard it yet, treat yourself to a listen. I recommend starting from the very beginning at episode one and working your way through. Some of those first few episodes really give you a glimpse into how this became such a successful podcast.

I feel like this podcast should be subtitled, the radicalization of Gareth. Lol he started the pod as a liberal comedian, and after about 500 episodes is now a full blown radical lefty. Well done, Dave! You love to see it! The more you know, the more you realize how messed up it all is and what needs to be done about it. Keep up the excellent content. I love every episode! The world needs to know this stuff. It’s a crime that these stories have been swept under the rug and/or sanitized. Our education system in this country is garbage. Amazing subjects, great interplay between the hosts, and flat-out hilarious. Dave's laugh took some getting used to, but it's now just an endearing part of a great comedian. And they both are amazingly adept at European dialect, particularly Irish accents. I feel like I now know Michael Malloy personally. Thanks for the incredible (and twice weekly!!) show! **Edit 4/21/17 I went to the live Dollop show in SLC, and happened to run into Dave and Gar(eth)y on the street. They were delightful. :). After the show, they remembered bumping into me outside, signed my poster and took a bunch of pictures. Podcast content 10/10, Dave and Gary as humans are also 10/10.
