melantheonSummeryOutstanding course because in my opinion: well informed, empathy to students, causes one to ask questions, learned a lot, interesting background of professor thoughtful and clear. I had one huge issue . What else is new? All disciplines have dogma. Can be an issue, but dogma is not all bad. I like the way the professor has discussion groups and makes helpful recommendations. Five star for me with an exception. Dan Koenig, Sr.

clayborn123WonderfulRich, entertaining important content from an evocative Professor with a nice sense of jolly humor. Clear thinker cogent and dense; I have been deeply enjoying thus engaging material.

omnicuriousWhat one would hope for from YaleWhile the professor does sound provocatively like Gru, he offers insightful and thought provoking assessments of works he deems fundamental to modern political and academic thought. Worth the investment of time, if you are a person driven by curiosity.

nicolasibarra84Great course, although needs more authors.I find this course to be extremely useful. But there are some authors which should have been passed. The audio for Adam Smith is really John S. Mill and vice versa. Other than that it is a high quality lecture. It would be a great idea to complement with Charles Anderson's course on the subject, and David Gordon.

JadeofTGreat introductory philosophy class without being boringI like how the professor starts his discussion of different thinkers with some biographical info and the historical period that produced them. He is also good in connecting different thinkers' ideas, showing the roots of a certain concept which was identified with a certain philosopher but the seeds were intriduced by his predecessors. He also has a sense of humor, which definitely makes the lectures easier to follow. Overall, really good introductory class.
