I always find something new to be interested in. It’s like an audio version of a culture section in a magazine!

Lilah and her guests lift the curtain on so many fascinating stories, week after week. Original and energizing podcasting.

    Eclectic and Seriously Interesting
Lilah brings sparkling energy and focus to such an array of timely discussions and interviews that I find the podcast simply irresistible. She does not hesitate to deep dive into topics, even sensitive ones yet she manages to convey a lightheartedness that I really appreciate. Well balanced and hip, too.

    FT Weekend
Superb podcast, very entertaining and insightful. My favorite of all the FT or WSJ podcasts.

For the international CEO in U
I really enjoy this podcast. Such intelligence in every episode. My beef 🥩 is with the book 📕 recs. I unfortunately bought Ted Chiang’s Exhalation after listening to the sci-fi segment on a beautiful Sunday morning and turns out the book is a pretentious STEM snooze 💤 fest. I seriously want my money 💰 back and am never listening to any online reviews / influencers again. Fool me once, FT WKND, shame on U. #NEVERAGAIN

Not usually a reader of the lifestyle section but…
I admit I hardly ever read the Arts/Culture/Lifestyle section of the newspaper but these episodes starting appearing in the feed of the weekday version of the FT daily briefing…and I’m very thankful that they did; the episodes are charming & the show really does an excellent job w/ the guests & the topics it chooses to explore. I look forward to listening to them each and every weekend.

    Eclectic start to the weekend
Would recommend anyone checking out the content in each week’s episode - a wonderful variety of topics which means you are almost guaranteed to find something for you one week at least. It is well presented and typical of the FT’s high quality journalism. Highly international in flavour.

    Love it!
You do such a great job representing the breath of the topics in the FT weekend. I have missed getting that paper since it’s not delivered in my city anymore, and this has been a great way to get back to it. And Lilah, I just love your voice and your style. This podcast is the one calming presence in my news cycle these days. You have a way of talking about serious topics in a very calming fashion. Keep up the great work, thank you.

    Love this show!
I hope Culture Call comes back - you two do a great job and interview interesting people. As someone that has trouble keeping up on culture, this is a great way to catch up and find new movies, books, shows etc to check out

    Like....
You and Ira said the word “like” too many times. It makes you sound like teenagers. I find it annoying for mature adults.

    Stephen Rea
Thank you for the link to Cyprus Avenue, a powerful and dark ending. I remember watching Stephen on Channel Four when they showed Angel. Of course to me he was a cult hero from his appearances as Carter in I Didn’t Know You Cared. Gris can explain this pre-feminist working class comedy to Lilah. Keep up the great show!

    Food for the Soul
I started listening yesterday and have listened to three episodes. The subject matter is really interested and thought provoking. I’m listening shook to my core by the insights and perspectives that are opening my mind.

I love it. But I make it. So I’m biased.

    One of my 10 favorite
Every single episode introduces me to cultural artifacts (books, films, etc) and perspectives that I would not have been aware of. Almost without fail, everything adds pleasure, knowledge and even wisdom. The hosts are bright, curious, far more interested in the world and other people than themselves (that’s a compliment) and are remarkably well paired to enhance each other’s native strengths. Really grateful to subscribe to the FT to support this great journalism.

    Something I look forward to
This is one of my favorite podcasts. The presenters are wonderful, the conversations illuminating and the material they cover is unexpected, highly informative and entertaining. It spikes my cultural curiosity and sends me off a little richer. A highlight.

    Smart but like........ also hot???
Good show to remind you that intelligence, curiosity, and insight don’t have to be pretentious or joyless. Come for the genuinely interesting dinner convo topics, book recs, and smart opinions about those books you can steal and later pretend you came up with yourself. Stay for the truly delightful company of these young, cerebral, and shockingly smart hosts.

    Always interesting & insightful
I’m always looking for new podcasts with great book, movie, play, etc recommendations and Culture Call hasn’t led me astray yet! I love the discussions between Lilah and Gris, especially when they touch on differences from across the pond. Recommend the episode with Taffy Akner especially.

    Very Insightful
I love this podcast. Lilah and Gris have a brilliant way of dissecting current trends and events and fitting them into wider narratives about our culture, while also keeping things light and entertaining at the same time. Highly recommended!

    Love Gris and Lilah
So glad to have found Culture Call. Really smart takes on cultural happenings that offer refreshing perspectives. Gris and Lilah are articulate, passionate, and deliver a thoughtful show each time.

    Won over skeptic
I listened to this pod initially mainly because it has a catchy jingle. To begin with I found the pod irritating. I stuck with it because it is like nothing else that I listen to on podcasts. Now, I love it. The interviews are insightful. The guests really interesting and it’s a perspective that I do not usually get from my other podcasts.
  • Brookline MA fan
    Wonderful
Lilah and Griselda are exceptional interviewers who are knowledgeable, insightful, interesting, and bring out the best conversation from guests. I look forward to each episode.
  • Candicedenize
    Transatlantic listener
Oooh I love how they meld US and UK cultural moments. I live in one and am from the other and the presenters do such a great job of bridging how the world is seen from both perspectives. Loved the Jia T and Taffy interviews so much.
  • Big fan from Brooklyn
    Very informative
The soothing voices of both Gris and Lilah make this podcast a must listen. Two young and very intelligent women who keep us up to date on culture around the world, what more can someone ask for. I appreciate how much fun you two have working together and how much variety in topics that are being shared with the listeners. I’ve learned so much by listening to the podcast since you two joined forces and appreciate all the hard work you put into providing a great product!

    Everything Else is!
Try it and you will like. Hosts are smart and interesting and they interview smart and interesting people.

    A wonderful, edifying podcast
FT Everything Else is a wonderful podcast. It's such a treat to hear thoughtful conversations with writers, artists, comedians, and more that genuinely engage them on their work and the larger issues it confronts in a way that feels like you are getting a window into a wonderful private conversation. I always come away wiser and with plenty of food for thought and couldn't recommend more highly.

    A Delightful and Intimate Soufflé
I love this podcast. Each week listeners get to eavesdrop on two smart, funny, unspoiled and charming young journalists discussing the arts in their affectionate, intelligent and quizzical voice. There are other good culture podcasts but none are quite so English with a gentleness and self-deprecation that America so sorely lacks. They are both great interviewers and pick terrific and varied guests. Listening to Everything Else is rejuvenating.

A reliably surprising, interesting take on pop culture
Okay, I notice WSJ reporters names via Audible, and The Financial Times of London undt Frankfurt offers a charming Griselda and an insightful, laughing India. A truly global business daily - salmon pink paper, forsooth - with the focus on finance - the FT also has wide ranging individual, personal voices. My favorite is a literal don who provided technical advice on horseback riding for an Alexander the Great movie, for free except he got to ride with the Companion cavalry. A killer classicist with the only garden writing I have ever read regularly, let alone enjoyed. Several bright, funny, usually less USA-centered,converse jokingly about popular culture - and they are almost always a hoot. A joy.
