Wow. Went back to listen to this series again. Had to stop in the middle to say this. I am so glad roper didn’t last long on this. Beside the fact he’s a complete tool. That friggin laugh would turn people away for sure. Jesus ur annoying

Thoughtful, well spoken, and do not use filler words and phrases. You will not hear “basically” twenty times a podcast. The speakers are fantastic.

Just finished the last podcast of “on the throne” with Gene and Big D. These two made Game of Thrones way more epic than it already was. Tried other GOT podcasts but u can’t beat these two.

Literally am obsessed with this podcast. It came up in my feed while I was listening to their Westworld podcast and became an instant favorite. I especially love the deep dives because I usually miss some of the key points they bring up during my first watch. If only Rog was on this podcast.. but still my fave!

I appreciate these two for the effort they have put in to create the podcast. Every episode is very entertaining and fun to listen too.

Please forgive me for mentioning your ‘competition’ but I have been listening to another GOT podcast called ‘Bald Move’ -who like you guys are very dedicated to the show and provide great analysis. You guys definitely give them a run for the money. I love Big D’s no holds barred opinions that get right to the heart of the positives and problems of the show. Gene, you do a great job as host and keeping the show moving forward. I thought you guys made a key point - if you thought Season 8 sucked, blame George Martin, not D + D. They signed on to adapt George’s work for tv, not finish the work for him. They did the best they could without the source material to work from. Fan expectations were sky high and like with other beloved shows (e.g. Seinfeld, The Sopranos, Lost) there was no way that the creators were going to satisfy everyone. Keep up the great work! Past Review: Really enjoy this podcast. Updated: I use to really like this podcast, I thought they were funny and thoughtful. This season I was just really annoyed how Big D sounded like such a know-it-all and his predictions and analysis were 90% wrong.

HES THE GOODEST BOY

I started up a few weeks ago because of GOT, but what can I say? Very fun, knowledgeable, great points, great insight... the hosts have an X factor and one can tell they are good pals because of how natural and good natured their exchanges are. I’m only subscribed to 4 or 5 podcasts, this is now one of them! Listen and see what I mean... Warmth, inviting, funny, intriguing... good company maybe? This show has the X factor and I’m on board whatever show is going to follow next, just to be a part of this.

This is my main GoT podcast and I’m probably going to check out their other series reviews as a result. The PC fans who turn every tangential thing into some SJW crusade (is this a Millennial thing?) drive me batty, which make the Small Council almost unbearable to listen to, but the boys respond well.

Love the insight you provide. Well thought out and fair reviews of the show.

Not too bad, but the one guy always sounds like he’s reading off of a script. Also if you’re going to use the word “appreciate” 50 times in 5 minutes, please learn how to pronounce it.

Hey there. I’ve tried listening to other podcasts about GoT and this one is by far the best. They do a great job looking at the different angles, playing advocate for different sides, and giving you other ways to look at scenes/scenarios. I love that they break down with the small council deep dive and read through all the fan emails and reviews. They do care about the fans and the fact they they truly take the time to read through them all shows how much time and dedication they put into this. I’m an 80s movie lover so I’ll definitely be listening to those too!

Insightful and witty without the ‘Morning Zoo’ type schtick.

Very enjoyable podcast! They break down the shows in a fair and even manner. The instacast and small council episodes are awesome and make the commute fly by. Just started their West World podcast and have been enjoying it also!

I wish I would have found this Pod Cast in season 7. Sad that GOT has ended and this Pod Cast is coming to a close but look forward to Watchmen and Shat the Movies. Your analysis on the episodes were superb and entertaining, couldn’t have asked for a better follow-up to a great show.

I don’t always agree with these guys, but their podcast is entertaining and thoughtful. Love listening to them. And if you haven’t already, go check out their other reviews of Westworld and Shat The Movies. Excellent content!

So thankful I found this podcast. Been listening a few months leading up to this last season we just finished. Loved the way the episodes came out throughout the week- instant reaction, deep dive and small council. Will miss the GOT episodes but looking forward to following other projects you’ll work on. I love this podcast. Sometimes after watching a GoT or Westworld episode you just want to talk about it and keep the excitement going, listening to Jean, Big D and some of the other guys that used to be on it was always fun and kept the excitement going. Not only did I learn things I never would have thought of, but they have a good way of opening up your mind to things-for example, any anger or disappointment from some of the last GoT episodes that I had was really challenged by the podcast. They give you reminders about why the show was so good, the detail and work that went into the show, and how amazing it is that so many people globally are watching this at the same time. It is also great how they include their listeners ideas and feedback in the show.

Keep on task, no one cares about Big D blathering on.

I’m new to listening to podcasts and was looking for Game of Thrones discussion. These guys have a rational, intelligent take- much better than the rest of the GOT podcasts, the other dudes are jumping off cliffs lol. Now I’m listening to the 80s and 90s movies reviews- awesome!

Love the Shat On guys, and the opportunity to nerd out unabashedly 3x/week during GOT season. Their consideration of character, arc, theory, and their thoughtful critiques always bring me back for more! Thanks guys! I’m gonna miss you, now that our watch is over. 🖤🐺🐍🦁⚔️🏹🔥❄️

I am so happy to have found this podcast. My son who is 18 came to game of thrones much later and had to stream seasons to catch up. Once I shared this podcast with him it has created such a taking point for the both of us and he is now reading the books. Appreciate all that you have done and an opportunity for a dad to have a reason to talk to their son!! Chris

I started listening late in “the Game.” Lots if information a casual fan wouldn’t know. So many bitter people at the end? I’m with Big D, thankful to have had something to look forward to all of this time.

Both the writers and the actor have confirmed that she had snapped and it’s not a rational decision... so could you stop saying she’s clearly not “mad” and burnt the city for politics? Painful to Lisen to...

We, at the Ask The Fellas podcast, “try” to cover these episodes and we fail miserably since we always get sidetracked with the hundreds of topics that jump out of the show. Would you sleep with your sister? Have females ever faked it like Little Finger’s brothel girls? If you already slept with your aunt, are you clear to keep sleeping with her if someone tells you that you are related? Oh no, I got sidetracked again. THIS podcast is awesome. They keep it moving very well AND they are very thorough and analyze the huge battles extremely well. I love the military jargon. I can’t wait to see more from you guys.

Great perspectives on GOT. Awesome balance of getting into the nitty gritty of the show and not taking it all too seriously. Great job, guys.

When I first started listening, my thought was, “wow what a bunch of nerds.” Then I continued and was sucked right in. I’m not one to spend all waking moments charting out the strengths and weaknesses of each army on a spreadsheet, but I do enjoy listening to the details other views share. The host do a “No holds barred” commentary on the inner workings of the show and a very researched breakdown of all important moments of the show. Thank you for your insights.

I really enjoy this podcast! The guys consistently provide insightful commentary and analysis of GoT. They bring ideas to the forefront, that i would never even consider. It’s not about agreeing or disagreeing with their opinions, its the beauty of “discussing” the show with people who love what they do. They clearly put time and thought into their takes and actually research their points. I eagerly wait for the new podcasts to release and am never disappointed. They have been a wonderful supplement to the show, and I am so thankful i have found them. Thanks so much!!

Best podcast ever. I am very disappointed that my husband and I casually stumbled on this masterpiece at the beginning of season eight and not season one. I love the analysis and detailed discussion. Thanks for making my GOT experience complete.

I have been listening to your podcast for a few months. Wishing I would have found it earlier. Keep up the great work! My take on this season is it’s a journey. I think we need to look at the whole series together and not base it on one or two episodes. All in all, sit and think about any other book that brought in such full characters. Think about the age of these characters when this story started and the growth they all have seen. I still think after it’s over you need to do podcasts on each character’s story. Not ready for the end.

I love the show and the podcast. Some of those fan theories are great. Mostly agree with gene. Sorry big D.
