Each week, our “Princes of Pop Culture” are joined by the likes of Michelle Yeoh, Hunter Doohan, John Boyega, Connie Britton, Gabrielle Union, and Sheryl Lee Ralph to unpack the latest controversies, laude character actress appreciation, and all the shade that’s fit to throw. New episodes drop every Wednesday.

    re: it's legends ball
no one mentioned cheryl dunye's "the watermelon woman" from 1996! it's specifically about representation of black lesbians in the movies and is funny. also all-hot cast! love the show :)

That Nathan Lane interview was uncomfortable. Ira & Louis did their best. Nathan finally opened up at the end.

Ira and Lewis - Can’t Live Without Them!!!
These guys are my weekly dose of sanity!! Not just pop culture - but ALL of culture - they keep me in the know and in the world - LOVE THIS SHOW. Ira’s ‘Keep It’ this week, and Lewis’ take on it was a masterclass! Thank you my fave Sanity Coaches!!!

    Sooo Much Fun
I have recently come to this podcast, and thank goodness I did. So enjoyable, so funny, so on the nose. Louis, I wish I could sit and have a drink with you. You say all the things I think!! I am an older woman (not your target demographic) who adores you both. I will Keep It!

    Message from the Bell House
Ira, I couldn’t share this in person because I would’ve cried, which would’ve been bad for the brand. I’m a huge fan, but truthfully almost didn’t make it tonight. I’m a school principal here in Brooklyn and yesterday, I watched a child who had just been shot be dragged into my building so that we could keep him safe until an ambulance arrived. I’ve seen some things in my career, but nothing quite prepares you for that. Suffice it to say that keeping it together for the past 36 hours has not been easy, and as I left work around 6:30, it felt easier to just go home. But i’m so glad I didn’t. Hearing from you and your guests was a break that couldn’t have come at a more important moment. Sometimes, pure innocent fun is more important than you may realize. PS- I don’t think you’re a Carrie.

    Best Pop Culture Pod
Long time listener, had to come on and leave a review. This is by far my favorite pop culture podcast! Louis and Ira are top tier hosts, never get tired of listening to them! They cover a wide array of topics and always keep me laughing!

    Good but lacks consistency
I do love this podcast but it’s so inconsistently put out. It seems like the hosts are constantly taking sabbaticals on other projects? Like every week either one of them is gone or else the podcast just doesn’t come out that week at all. Good listening just wish it was more consistent.

    Very entertaining
I could do without the gratuitous Taylor bashing, but, on the whole, I really enjoy this podcast. Unlike other pods, I actually like that it’s really long. I’ll put it on and clean my house or go about my business and it keeps me happy. Also, I know this is an exceedingly particular thing, but I really, really appreciate how the hosts DON’T talk over each other. They give each other space to speak and it’s so refreshing and easy to listen to.

    Wicked
Louis’ favorite actor from Wicked was the white guy. What a shocker.

    Editing
This has been my favorite podcast for years but the editing this year has been distractingly awful. So many cuts in the middle is sentences and then parts replayed. Please please please fix this. It makes it hard to listen.

Movies about opera. I know you’re young. But 1981’s DIVA is a good place for you to start doing homework. WILHEMINA FERNANDEZ the beautiful Bkack soprano is worth the movie alone. It’s- you need to know this as it’s part of your culture.

    One of my favorites- edited
And I don’t understand the Ira hate I’m seeing in these reviews. He is funny and insightful and the show would not be what it is without him. Also, it is not antisemitic to be against genocide! I’m glad Ira has used his platform to speak out while so many others remain silent. Ira and Louis are a perfect team. They make me laugh every episode and I’m always impressed by their encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture. Editing this to say that I’m so disappointed that Ira has stopped mentioning the genocide in Gaza whatsoever. I imagine he got a talking to from the Pod Save bros and went ahead and protected his paycheck. Louis never really cared. The post-election chat with Sam Sanders was incredibly asinine. How can they talk about the failure of their preferred candidate without mentioning a whole GENOCIDE? And Sanders seemed to be suggesting that dems need to appeal more to MAGA- another very idiotic point when he didn’t gain that many voters. The dems just lost a bunch with their uninspiring, terrible, Liz Cheney bear-hugging, pro-genocide, anti-immigration campaign.

Best interviews of people in show business
You all have spoiled me for other interviewers of people in show business! I just love how you are able to get people to share their true experiences of the work, their inspirations, and give them the space to really represent their craft and point of view. As Louis would say “a pleasure to listen to.” Look forward to it every week!

    talk about harris and palestine
have loved this podcast for years, enjoy most of the takes serious and unserious. i’ve been hoping y’all would get with it but i’m finally unsubscribing for the continued erasure of the issue of palestine and the genocide perpetrated by the current and running administration. as a queer trans apache listener how can you tell me to ignore these international war crimes and how dare you scold chappel for refusing to do so

SOOOO glad you’re back!-Please work on editing
**Update: PLEASE listen to your show before it comes out! I don’t know if it’s me but the editing STILL needs work. Sometimes the show cuts off at the end of the episode with no warning or I re-hear parts of the show (like on interviews) after just hearing it. It’s REALLY distracting, PLEASE work on this. This is my FAVORITE Podcast and I’ve definitely come out of my little box by consuming pop culture I usually don’t explore but listen to the show before it comes out. Love you guys! I came to the party late but I’m all caught up so I’m listening to old episodes which I LOVE😍One thing that STILL needs work is the editing…not sure if it’s just me but on a handful of episodes (this new one included) I hear playback of the same parts I just heard. It’s pretty distracting because I LOVE the size of the episodes but it throws me off hearing the same thing in a row. KEEP it up🙌🏾

Love Louis, Ira is so hard to listen to
Update: please god Ira go see an ENT, and it’s clear the editors are clipping your crazy long drawn out laughs that are awkward and feel like filler because you don’t know what to say. Otherwise you both are so insightful! But Ira is one of the worst speaking podcast voices ever. I think both these hosts have thoughtful and funny things to say, and I’ve been listening since the beginning with Kara, but Ira’s inability to say a sentence without filler words is getting worse and worse. Most recent episode had him saying “um you know um like” as an entire sentence and the number of “you know”s when he speaks makes it so difficult to follow. That and the awkward trailing off laughter followed by ummmmm. Phew. It’s getting harder to stay engaged. Plus Idina Menzel EATING her way through an interview or something. It was painful.

    Perfect Blend
I love Ira’s and Louis’ dynamic and it’s perfect blend of intellect, silliness, and snark. The guests are always sensational and I appreciate the the overall diversity of guests and topics. For some crazy reason, and with nothing but love, Ira and Louis also remind me of Frasier and Niles Crane!?! Which one is who, I’ll let them debate…
  • Lorids262
    Long time listener
I have loved this show for a long time. But, and you knew there would be a but, I’m wondering if Ira’s most recent contract requires him to use the term “iconic” at least once in every episode? Ira baby, just because your calling someone iconic, doesn’t actually make them iconic. Look it up.
  • longtimelistener555
great job justifying Eden’s treatment at Eurovision
Grotesque antisemitism in the justification of Eden’s treatment at Eurovision. Extremely self-righteous, ahistorical discussion of the controversy.
  • jennab1016
    It’s giving anti semitism
If Ira doesn’t like the term anti semitism, we can replace it with Jew hatred, because that’s what he’s giving week after week. Thought I had found a new go to podcast but will be moving on, surprised it is on this podcast network.

Loyal listener for many years but…
Ira’s ego is getting out of control. Careful where you step, because he drops a lot of names to sound special.
  • micklef1213
    Please!! Begging!
For the love of god please find a woman or literally anyone else to replace Louis as permanent cohost… the internalized misogyny & humorlessness & lack of original thought have truly reached an embarrassing level.

    Keep it (in my ears)
I love this podcast and hope I can listen to Ira & Louis talk and laugh together for the rest of my days. Their banter is so entertaining and witty, and in their interviews, it’s clear they truly know their guests’ work/background (either through thoughtful research, or as a genuine admirer) and are not BSing any of it. Or if they are BSing, their hosting skills are fine enough to mask it. Thank you for the excellent podcast.

    Day 1 listener
Makes my week. Brings me joy. Love you both. I live on a small island in the middle of no where and you are my life line to pop culture.
  • jmizz10
    Downright terrible. Honestly, truly.
The pretentiousness masquerading as thoughtful discussion aside, Louis’ voice sounds worse than nails running across a chalkboard. Then again, can you really expect one without an upper lip to sound bearable? 1 star is actually too generous, but, since you can’t rate it a zero, 1 star it is. Avoid this cacophony of mismatched voices and terrible editing at all costs.

Don’t tell Jews what’s offensive lol
Loved the podcast, always reviewed it 5/5 before - but here to remind you Ira that you aren’t Jewish and can sit back down instead of commenting how other Jews and holocaust survivors interpreted glazers words. No one’s out here telling you if you should be offended about the crazy that comes out of Kanye’s mouth about his own people - or if they are, they’re out of line and no one cares. Both Louis and Ira are wise enough to recognize when the convo absolutely doesn’t involve you. I’ve listened enough to know you are usually well-informed thoughtful people but maybe don’t know enough Jews personally to know that you’re overstepping with this. And I mean this with genuine love ~ a Jewish listener who comes from the lineage of just two holocaust survivors

    Off Sync?
I love this show so much- it might just be me but it sounds like louis and ira’s mics are off sync- especially in the keep it section. There are strange pauses and then all of a sudden they’re talking over each other when I know they shouldn’t be. Still love the podcast so much though!

    Editing Issue
My absolute favorite podcast of all time! Listen every week and recommend it all the time. Friendly heads up that the audio editing in the Oscar’s recap has all kinds of issues. Their tracks overlap and lots of weird gaps. Definitely worth taking down and reposting.
  • Elfherbie
    Editor?
Did they fire the editor? Ira’s voice was off most of the time. The overlap was weird.
  • Marty!
    Please let Louis TALK!
I have been listening to this podcast for years and listen every week. This last week Ira kept talking over Louis over and over. It was so rude and made the comments hard to follow. Also, Ira please stop saying “to be honest” in every paragraph.
  • Lasercatstakeover
    Can be entertaining
They both can get super annoying, I feel like everything has to be made into a joke or a pun and it gets very old very quickly. I wish I liked it more
  • whoneedspalswhenpodsexist?
    Better than ever!
I’ve been a listener since day 1 almost to a religious degree. I feel like the past month or so especially, they have been making me laugh, think, and conspire about pop culture more than they ever have. Keep It to anything below 5 stars!!!

    New Favorite Podcast
I’m clueless about 90% of the artists, shows, movies etc that they discuss, but they’re so delightful to listen to and so funny that this is my new favorite, can’t miss podcast.

    Top notch interviews
Love their dynamic as cohosts, and they are clearly fans of the people they interview. Thoughtful questions, deep dives into the back catalogue, good conversation, and space for the guest to answer.
