Love this podcast but the first arc is making me so mad because they just started playing 5e and don’t know the rules so like ugh. but it is amazing

Easy to follow but really interesting. This show has made me think about topic I never would have thought of before. Always keeps you on the edge of your and really doesn't swear that often. I love this show. It deserves it's title as an audio drama.

(Update 2024, starting from the start again and this podcast ages like fine wine) This D&D podcast is solid. Starts off hooking into you strongly, and if you think it might get boring; well hang on to your butt. The crew have put together a good role play audio drama and good D&D play. Stay tuned to the end of each episode for the outtake, you’ll be laughing. Overall an outstanding addition to anyone’s podcast listening.

Please just give me a reason why it is explicit, you guys used to be my favorite, great story, amazing character role play/backstory, really cool situations, and great combat but I can’t listen to any of that.

Was amazing and then it was marked as explicit and now I can’t listen. Honestly disappointed.

Great job on the story telling. The whole show is amazing, cast too. I found this podcast through how friends roll. The podcast never gets boring. The show is super funny and the bloopers are awesome. There are a few audio issues but that doesn’t take away from the show. Keep up the great work. I love the fact that you let the players build the world. I’m going to start letting my players do the same. This podcast is fun to listen to and gives me ideas for my campaigns. Excellent sweeping story arcs, podcast outtakes at the end are hilarious. Can’t wait for arc 3!

I started listening to a podcast of d&d on a whim. And at one point they had reached the end of an arc and just stopped and completely shifted stories during a SUPER climatic and just unfinished story. It was heartbreaking. I had been hooked as that podcast had used all sorts of sound effects and music to bring it to life. I began listening to Advantage mid June 2022 and have literally binged EVERY episode and now I’m caught up with everyone else and am stuck in limbo waiting eagerly for more. This podcast has continued to grow and evolve and the time and effort and just dedication put into telling the story in a way that allows my mind to shift and play this cinematic masterpiece. It is filled with wit, heartbreak, and plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. Joe is a BRILLIANT DM who not only tells a tale and lets the players make essentially whatever decision they want, but has taken it a step further and has each character/player be faced with not just local and minor consequences for their actions, but has taken into account and had the players be effected in major and cusp wide. Their actions effected the nations. The characters have grown and developed with their characters since the beginning and it has been a delight to watch as they adapt their character personally. Things become more free flowing and natural vs an almost forced and not really awkward but awkward. The dynamic has bloomed into this brilliant Squad B that forever will shape and develop the future of the Cusp no matter what characters this group of individuals take on, and I look forward to seeing where the story goes.

I love this show so much. The cast of characters are exciting and over time, the story began to truly move me. There’s always that speculation during the first few episodes of any podcast where you wonder if it will stick, but this show has been an ever-present fixture of my life these past couple years. I love that the cast is NOT AFRAID to go head to head with decades of discrimination and gate keeping of the dungeons and dragons community. It’s shows like this that simultaneously tell stories of fighting oppression while undoing the constipated grognardism of ttrpgs. D&D is for NBs. D&D is for transgender players and narratives. D&D is for poc’s and stories of fighting oppression. D&D is for that poly fam that has a group of people to play with at the drop of a hat (jealous) and all of these things are good for our society. Thanks for doing your part and more than is asked of you to change the narrative of a cis-white boys only game to something that flourishes and is worthy of being adored. Thank you, - Nick

I had given up on podcasts, but then my great grandmother recommended Advantage. After the second episode, I finally came out of my deep depression that first set in after my wife left me for the mailman. I still haven't been able to see my kids, but I'm crossing my fingers that this positivity carries through and they start answering my calls again. Until then, this podcast and my dog Britches will have to be what gets me through.

Acting is on good. Story is intriguing and fresh. There are a few things wrong with it and people should listen to it for the story. The only complaint is that it gets a little political but in all better the most but not quite the best

Really obnoxious and pretentious. They approach some pretty degraded and disgusting relationship and sexual topics like they’re normal or ok. You want a really good cast? Try something clean and humble: Sneak Attack, Titans of Al’Terra, or Make Believe Hero’s

I love D&D actual play podcasts; I’ve listened to dozens, and this one is easily one of the best. The story telling, character depth, and world building are second to none. The cast’s chemistry is amazing; you can really tell how deep their friendship is just by listening, especially to the post episode goofs. Absolutely amazing. Keep it up!!!

I knew nothing about D&D before this show! It’s absolutely engaging and entertaining and I’ve been hooked ever sense! If you’re new to the game or even a veteran, I highly recommend this :) #Awesome

I have never played D&D, but a friend got me listening to you guys and it didn’t take me long to catch up to him then pass him. Can’t wait for more!

I started this podcast probably about 3ish months ago and have to say I’m hooked. The story is great and the cast is top notch. I find myself rooting these characters on as they face bigger and bigger problems. It’s been a great experience and the only thing I can say is thanks for the great story and can’t wait to hear more.

By far the greatest podcast I listen to. The representation, world building, and story is awesome to listen to. It is defiantly a story worth unraveling and can’t wait to see how the show plays out!

This is an amazing Dungeons and Dragons playing podcast! Great DM and cast. The more I listen the more I am drawn into the story.

This brilliant show has been a trip from the very beginning, if you are considering listening to it, I recommend that you do. It is a audio drama that has told a story that is easy to get hooked on very quickly.

I was really enjoying the story, but work in a somewhat loud work environment and the podcast is just too quiet compared to others. It was too difficult to listen and eventually had to stop. Wish I could have heard how the rest went

In the last couple months I’ve been binging this podcast and I’m finally caught up, totally worth it, love the world, the characters and the story.

I just got a phone, and I was looking for podcasts to listen to, and I found Advantage. I like DND, but I am rather clueless when it comes to most aspects of the game. Not only is your campaign an amazingly well crafted story, but it teaches me about the game. I am on episode 19 of the first arc, and cannot wait to hear more.I would recommend this podcast to anyone interested in DND.

This podcast is amazing. You can barely tell what is going to happen next! My only complaint is the upload speeds. They are not consistent and leave large wait times. But that’s all. I truly recommend this podcast!

I got into this after I finished How Friends Roll . I binged all the episodes and they were great. This is not bad but the last few episodes has gotten less family friendly. Totally ok with me, it gives more character development in most cases. The storyline is so intriguing, I can’t wait to see what will happen next. Thank you so much for putting so much effort into this show, it really helps me feel better when I’m feeling down. Also, I made multiple edits to this review and I don’t how it works, so hopefully it doesn’t look like I sent three almost identical reviews.

If you enjoy good podcasts featuring a group of tightly-knit friends playing some good old fashioned D&D, this is the podcast for you. The imagery is vivid, the jokes are great, and Joe’s style of DM’ing is something I aspire to as a burgeoning DM myself.

When I first started listening, the audio quality was a little iffy along with some audio seem to cut in and out as the music seemed to over power the voices. The audio then began to get better and the balance of music of voices had found their balance. Later on, I began to love the fully fledged out work with their conflicts and slight changes along the way. The roleplaying factor is portrayed well and gives the sense of the character rather than just acting as the story is in 3rd person type of story. I’ve listened any chance I get and the story and characters has developed so much from arch 1 to now

I’m only to 1.8 so I don’t know if it gets better but the audio desperately needs volume normalization. I’ve had to turn the volume all the way up to barely hear what on person is saying then immediately get a full volume burst straight into the ear drum. This is especially true of the music, which has been significantly louder than everybody else. I’m still early in the podcast series but hopefully it gets better.

I love how much friendship between cast and their compiling words. I love this podcast and listen to every episode. Also don’t let the negativity impact you guys. You do great work and should be proud of your craft

Love listening and getting lost in the characters and story line

I started this podcast at the beginning of April and from around April 4th to now (April 16th) I’ve binged the entire feed from 1.1 to the most current episode. I can honestly say to me the story telling and world building in this podcast is on par with the greats (e.g. Critical Role and The Adventure Zone). The inclusivity and sensitivity with which the cast approach hard topics honestly gives me a little bit more hope for the world. All of the characters are extremely well role played and the entire cast is a joy to listen to. I have and will continue to reconnect this podcast to anyone and everyone!! Keep up the good work all!

I really just got into it instantly

The storytelling is wonderful, the characters are dynamic, and you can really feel the connection the cast has built!

Music is good. It’s okay. I’m sure a ton of work went into the lore, but that doesn’t make the story good for audio.
