    Instructive & Inspiring
I learn so much every time I listen to this podcast. The depth of knowledge these two have about music is incredible and the connections they make between different genres and The Phish catalog are fascinating. I leave every episode with a playlist of music that I can’t wait to dive into!

    A Triumphant Return!!
I was so excited to see a new Beyond the Pond episode had downloaded to my phone. Due to an influx of Phish music, it took me a while to get to listen but WOW did it deliver. So great to hear these two deep dive into a phish jam and drop some burning hot new music recommendations and great comparisons. Keep up the great work guys!!

    They’re Back!!!
I’m thrilled to see Brian and David back with us breaking down legendary Phish jams and directing listeners to check out excellent related music, both new and old. This is a must listen for Phish fans and fans of good music in general.

    Great show for music fans
Thrilled to see Beyond the Pond pop back up on my feed. Ironically, this show was my intro to Phish after listening to their 2017 episodes on Sleep Well Beast and A Deeper Understanding helped me see the musical taste overlap. A great gateway into Phish and the Osiris podcast world at large!

    Always Enjoyable
I really enjoy this podcast. Laid back presenters, great (knowledgeable and appropriately opinionated) analysis of Phish and a really interesting blend of other music (old and new) that I usually haven’t heard. It expands my musical universe and I look forward to every episode.

    Is it that beyond though?
As a phish fan I do enjoy their takes on the quartet’s music, for the most part. When it comes to delving beyond the pond I feel as though they are stuck on mostly Indy rock bands, alt country and hipster obscura I would love to hear more diversity in genres, like hip hop, reggae, bluegrass, electro, etc... “shoe-gaze” is to beyond the pond as “eno” is to sound opinions. I’ll still listen but usually turn it off after they are done talking about the phish. And it’s ok to talk about the ruby waves jam more in depth guys. You’re not beating a dead horse, we want to dissect this until the next big jam happens.

    Music Love
From the embroidered pillows of the jams of Phish, a legendary band that stitches and weaves their influences throughout them, this podcast unspools the threads of those jams and connects them to the rest of the musical universe.

    Radiohead episode
I recently started to listen I absolutely lived the Radiohead episode. Well researched and very entertaining

    BTP is the bees knees.
BTP does what I would do if I was BTP. That is why they are excellent. I mean, literally every choice, question or guest they make or have is the one I would make or have.

    Thanks Fellas
Seen the Pfish 72 times and have the myopic glasses on that Dave refers to....everyday. This podcast on many levels is one of my favorite out there. Absolutely love your Phish knowledge but more importantly your knowledge of other music and what you’ve introduced me to is very much appreciated. Keep up the good work gents!

Great way to find new music!
I had an epiphany. I listen to too much Phish. I was myopic. Not any more - I found the BeyondThePond podcast. Phish fans who recommend other music. It introduces me to so many other bands.

Great Idea for a Podcast... and done SO WELL
You guys are great. This really is a fantastic idea and very relevant to a lot of listeners of Phish. I have added so many cool bands to my playlists and actual music purchases too (I know! Can you imagine?!! BUYING MUSIC?!?!?!) because of these episodes. I am always eager to hear what the next episode will bring... so don't you dare even THINK about stopping or slowing down!

Please stop talking about the war on drugs.
The problem with phish fans is that they listen to too much phish. The problem with Beyond the Pond is that they listen and talk about The War On Drugs too much.

    Great music podcast!
Knowledgeable hosts use the music of Phish as a platform to introduce listeners to other great music - it’s a great play on how much the music of Phish can open the ears of its listeners to different genres. Lots of great intel about Phish and other great bands here!

    Great Music Podcast
Brian and David do a great job focusing on one specific Phish jam and turning listeners on to other bands that have a similar sound or theme to the jam being discussed. I’ve learned about so many bands due to this podcast. I’ve also learned a lot about Phish too as the tour and surrounding shows of the jam being discussed is gone over in detail. The depth of Brian & David’s music knowledge is truly amazing. Keep up the great work!

    Great podcast!
This podcast is terrific. The hosts have a funny and insightful take on all things phish. 👍👍

    Essential listening
If Analyze Phish was the worst possible way to get non-Phish fans into Phish, Beyond the Pond is the BEST possible way to get fans of Phish into other kinds of music. Brian and David have fantastic and diverse tastes, encyclopedic knowledge of music, and they're always smart and entertaining. You'll always find something new and great in every episode.

    Great Podcast
    1) Do you like the band Phish? 2) Are you cool with people discussing Phish using specific dates, inside references, and un-ironic descriptive terms like “melodic funk” and “deep grooves”? 3) Do you enjoy learning about new (non-Phish) music? If (like me) you can answer yes to all three of these questions, you’ve hit the jackpot with this podcast. In each episode, Brian and David examine a standout Phish jam, put the jam into context, provides other examples of similar Phish jams, and then suggest music from other bands that somehow connect with the original jam. They are knowledgeable hosts who clearly put effort into their research and thought into each show. Looking forward to more!

    The Pond is deep
In the first few minutes of the listening I was convinced I would enjoy this podcast when I heard one of them say this is a podcast for Phish and GD fans who may not enjoy other jambands as much. The banter is good, you can tell they do a lot of prep work. It is quick, concise, and although at first I thought they should play each track in their entirety, the snippets get the job done. I am looking forward to future episodes.

Great way to find new music!
Started listening from the very beginning and each episode has given me plenty of great new and old music to discover. They not only do great deep dives on Phish, but put Phish in a context out of the usual jamband comparisons and influences. Highly recommend this podcast.

    Love it
David and Brian take a little bit of Phish and translate it into a lot of other music. They're knowledgeable and entertaining! Keep it up, guys!
