MGB74No jockLoud mouth know-it-all who couldn’t throw a baseball from the mound to the plate. I bet the ball would bounce three times before going left into the dugout.

NRB 0827CarmeloMike you are so incorrect. Carmelo Anthony overrated player. He makes no one better. Look at his career assists. God I hate Carmellos game Former Knick and Jets fan

harlembaseballLupica has always been deeper than sportsLove the great conversation about things more than just sports.

BBCCGolferGreat GuestsAm a huge Lupica fan from his newspaper days and he is a great interviewer who actually lets his guests speak rather that try to impress everyone with how smart he is.

The Big DudeContent vs. Political LeaningsEvery 8 months or so, I subscribe to your show. And as I listen, I get excited about the sports content. I’m also reminded of how enjoyable it was to watch Lupica every Sunday morning back when The Sports Reporters came on ESPN. However, just when I really start enjoying myself, Mike reminds me that he is a prototypical coastal liberal — that is, the kind we see coming out of Hollywood and NY that hasn’t realized [and likely will never realize] that they have nothing in common with average Americans. This literal and figurative chasm between himself and the average Joe causes him to forget that not all of us share in his liberal passions. For example, he makes sure to pronounce his support for causes such as kneeling for the anthem, and speaks about the act of kneeling as if it’s the only possible way to show support for social causes. Long story short, I eventually have to unsubscribe when I’ve had enough of the political BS.

Benjamin Allen PatrickMatt Jones And Amy McGrathI listened to and enjoyed your talk w/ Amy McGrath. I think many in Ky would tune in to hear a similar interview with a possible primary opponent of Amy, Matt Jones of KSR. Owner of Ky Sports Radio, heavily involved politically—-you and he could have a fantastic conversation. Based on his age, he likely grew up on Sports Reporters (as didI) . I’d Love to listen to that interview.

DocLouIowaGeneral commentLove the guests and interview. This is not radio where you have to say who you are and who your guest is. It says it on the podcast. No need to repeat it over and over.

SteelerpgWilliam GoldmanMike, I used to read your column in the 80’s. In fact, the only time I bought the Daily News was on Tuesdays. I love your podcast also. I just discovered it recently & have been going back to listen to the older episodes. Whether it’s sports or political, it’s always interesting. I think my favorite guests are the authors you have on. We seem to have very similar taste in our reading material. With that in mind, I was hoping you would have William Goldman or Dan Jenkins as guests. Any possibility? I apologize. Obviously, I wrote this, this morning before I had heard about William Goldman. I’m very sad by this news. I only met him once, but he was one of my favorite authors & screen writers.

ronioconKudos on your podcastAs a political junkie, I love your podcasts. Listening to Steve Schmidt, James Carville and Mike Barnicle is so worth it. Also, as a tennis player, Billie Jean King and Jimmy Connors were terrific. Thanks. Roni O’Connor, Stamford, Ct

Jasper9752Are you kidding me?Wanted to hear the episode about the Super Bowl. Took about 8 minutes to even mention the game, and the first thing was the overtime rule. Please talk about the game. And where was Lupica and who were these two guys rambling on? The commercial sounded like, well, a commercial rather than incorporated into the essence of the show, like I thought podcasts were supposed to do. If the two hosts (not Lupica) enjoy friendly conversation, ok, but if they expect other people to be interested, well, sorry, ased on this episode I would be reluctant to return.

PatLeagueGuyOh Michael You Beautiful ManJust two podcasts in and I find myself continuously coming back to the podcast app to see if there's a new one up. I'm like a teen in disbelief that there is nothing in the fridge despite never going grocery shopping With the Rolodex of friends that Lupica has, I can see this podcast going on until the end of time. Great stuff!
