Tough to listen to after “Bald Move” recaps
I got maybe 15 min into the first episode- and it’s painful. I’ve been listening to the Bald Move recaps with Jim and A-Ron for months now And I was looking to change it up. This crew is not in the same league. If you’re looking for thoughtful, in-depth and thought provoking recaps without spoilers- check Bald Move out.

    Painfully dumb to listen to
I was looking for analysis, but instead it’s the View meets Real Housewives skimming the surface of shows and not having the intelligence or empathy or ability to analyze or think analytically about anything. They make assumptions, laugh about pain, box characters because they can’t do any better because they are too dumb. Laughter constantly and at dumb stuff.

Partially Spoiled in episode 4. Not focused and prepared
Not really worth the time. More prep is needed pre show. Most importantly they (at least once) partially spoiled listeners by ruling out a certain person as a suspect in Episode 4 based on what they read in the book. Full disclosure there are other Afterbuzz folks that put a lot of work in to each podcast. Check the other ones out. Skip this one and go to Bald Move for Sharp Objects breakdown and discussion.

    Fine
The hosts have done little to no research or preparation for these recaps. They often don’t know character names, actors’ names, or even how to pronounce words in general. They summarize the episode and miss basic things like how people are related to each other. When anyone has an interesting thought, they apologize for bringing it up and move back to the play-by-play. If you want a basic recap, this is it.

    There are better podcasts
The ladies are likable but it’s definitely not an in depth recap. I imagine a casual viewer might like it but I also don’t imagine casual viewers seek out tv show discussion podcasts. It sometimes sounds if more than one of them watch the show while doing other things. But they are lovely and seem to be enjoying the show. Quick recap? Sure, it’ll do. Anything more in depth than that? There’s better out there.

    Deeply concerned but no offense...
I truly mean no offense by saying this but I am compelled to express my deep concern that the hosts of this podcast do not know of one of the most famous southern generals - General Calhoun. This is not to place blame but rather point out that our educational system in America is severely lacking in history lessons. I come from a privilege educational background in that I was educated in private schools but it is alarming that American citizens do not know American history and also might explain why we are currently in the situation that we are in with this president and Russia.

    Ferrrrrr meeeee
Every sentence starts with “Ferrrrr meeee”. We know it’s for you, you’re the one saying it.

    I can’t
If you like Verbal fry, vague understanding of the show and shallow insightfulness, this is for you.

    Terrible
These ladies barely have a basic knowledge of this show. You would think you’d need to know more than the average viewer to host a podcast. Apparently not. To not even know Camille is the only Preaker girl in the house is ridiculous. Alan is not Camille’s father which is why she has Adora’s maiden name. I guess anyone can host a podcast regardless of knowledge or qualifications. Really frustrating to listen to.

    Not Good
I am generally a fan of Afterbuzz and the podcasts previously done. Was a fan of the Scandal & Homeland pods; was hoping I would enjoy this podcast as well. Maybe I am wrong, but I expect the “hosts” to have watched an episode more than once or be able to discuss more of the nuances within an episode or show. This show was more of a recap of surface things then anything in-depth. I felt as if the presenters were missing meanings or key items within the first episode. Additionally, as a listener, I wanted a good vibe or flow of the podcast and I didn’t feel that, the only thing I felt is that I wanted to find another Shape Objects podcast that hopefully did a better job of covering the episodes. Best of luck to these ladies as I know they host other shows on Afterbuzz, but this threesome wasn’t it.
