    Unlistenable
Bro fix your audio quality! Seriously it’s the worst of any podcast I’ve heard. What’s the point of recording a podcast if you’re not going to at least try to make it listenable for people?!

    Very Poor Quality
Leave it to the great Phil Freeman to find a way to make interviews with legends like Anthony Braxton & Leo Smith boring and unlistenable. Horrendous sound quality and a host with the personality of cardboard. A shame.

Excellent conversations; could use an editor
Phil Freeman has a nice voice. He preps well for his interviews and he talks to really interesting musicians. My only critique is he could use an editor. The interviews seem raw: from the subject picking up the phone to hanging up at the end. That makes them authentic but also kind of rambling and occasionally even awkward.

    Off to a great start
Excellent roster of guests, deep conversation. Many of these greats (Dave Burrell, Stanley Cowell) are hiding in plain sight, yet few others seem to be reaching out to them. I look forward to each episode. Cheers, Phil!

    Great in-depth discussions.
Great guests, great questions, wonderful knowledge of artists, takes music seriously and no wasted space or pointless chatter.

    Great insights
Freeman is a great interviewer, and the musicians have shared some great insights. It’s been a great introduction to me to this world of music.

    Excellent interviews of Great Musicians
Phil Freeman is one of the best writers of modern progressive music from jazz to metal, and he brings this talent to this excellent podcast. He knows when to probe, and when to just sit back and listen and this is a wonderful addition to modern musical discourse.
