I am starting a nonprofit organization, and because I have no background in nonprofits, I started listening to this podcast. I am learning so much from Professor Fulton through his podcast/course. We just got our 501c3 status this week and I am so excited to begin helping people. Thank you!

I am starting two non-profits and am so grateful to have found this series lead by Dr. Brad Fulton. He is easy to listen to, his lectures are easy to follow, and the lessons are easy to grasp and translate into real world scenarios. I look forward to listening to the entire podcast.

Many practitioners enter the field with little knowledge of the sector; much of the learning is practice based built upon best practices. Few have time or ability to enter the academy to take courses with renowned scholars once they become invested in their career. In this case, Dr. Fullerton allows each of us to be a fly on the wall as he instructs a real course with his students. We get to learn the theories and constructs of the field that inform actual practices of social sector leaders, fundraisers, and entrepreneurs. Whether on lunch break or the drive to and from the office, this is an easy, must-listen podcast that allows you to “sit” in a real classroom to acquire foundational knowledge. Whether seasoned or emerging, each of us in the field benefits from Brad’s insights that, when applied, shape and form the actions we take to make our shared world better.

I co-founded a nonprofit without knowing anything about how to run one. This has given me great insights to help with the growth it will take to accomplish our mission. (One thing I felt was missing was discussion about why foreign governments sometimes get a bad taste in their mouths about outside nonprofits. Check out the book When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty Without Hurting the Poor and Yourself.) Overall, a fantastic podcast with a ton of great information. Thank you!!

If you care enough about something to want to start a non-profit in order to support it, then you care enough to want to do it right. What you don’t know can not only hurt your efforts, it can cripple them. This course gives you the knowledge you need to build a strong organization that is able to accomplish great things. Even if you are working with a strong, well organized Non-Profit, this course will give you tools to make it even better.

I took this course as a way to really dive into the nonprofit sector and see how I felt about it and I absolutely loved it. Professor Fulton was great and made this new information engaging and easy to understand and relate to as a college student who was unfamiliar with the topic. Couldn't recommend it more!

I am a sociology student and my professor suggested this pdocast. This particular course offers an excellent introduction into leading and managing organizations situated in the nonprofit sector. I have found value in the considerable overlap that occurs between the nonprofit sector and what I am learning in sociology.

Like his other podcast, this is an edited audio recording of Prof. Fulton's class on non-profit management. The class covers a lot of ground, and is full of interesting examples and thoughtful student input. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to improve their understanding of management techniques, especially for the non-profit sector.
