    A very good podcast
Nothing has spoken to me more than when Jacqueline - in an almost afterthought of genius, at the end of the episode, no less - cast off the scenario in which you’re delaying reading a book due to the anxiety over not having chosen the best translation 😂 I mean, she really saw me. And I personally love when there are tears in an episode ♥️ And Kate. You’ve given me some of my best laughs. Namaste.

    four straight weeks of re-releases
    seriously?

    Sad
Why so many re-releases? I’m scared this is the end of the podcast.

    goodbye with love
longtime fan, love J+K, but these days it feels like the eps are usually either phoned in, a re-release, or more inane chatter about tracy anderson & restrictive diets. really depressing. also uncomfortable the way J often dominates K (interrupting stories, jealousy about being excluded, etc – even if it is in jest) i wish them both the best

Whether it’s “POOG” or “Evil POOG”, I’m forever proud to be a hag.

    Prolific
I revisit episodes often, ponder the philosophical wonders daily and cackle at the hilarity that is their banter and wondrous tales both of fiction and reality.

    Missing old Poog
Along with a lot of other fans, I’m tired of hearing about Jacqueline’s restrictive eating and rich lady exercise routine.

I listen every week. Love you two. Thanks for keeping me sane and making me laugh out loud at my desk job.

    Jacqueline Novak verbal tic, okay
I like this pod a lot except for Jacqueline Novak’s verbal tic of saying “okay” after every sentence. You’d think someone who speaks for a living would have eradicated this.

Sometimes when I listen, it feels like I’m listening to the episode backwards.

    Let Kate Speak!
Why does Jack have to interrupt Kate every two seconds??

    Let Kate speak
Longtime listener I loved the flow and cracking up to your banter on the subway but lately J has been so hyper fixated on the driest subjects. I respect the idea of going overboard as art but please do that on your own solo project. This was most heightened when Kate recently came on high I was ready for hilarious honesty and J killed the mood so fast. Kates been coming with funny real life stories and it all feels smothered by J sense of genius. It’s becoming unlistenable.

I love you both ferociously but as a recovering orthorexic and current plus-size person, the obsessive food and exercise talk has become extremely concerning and upsetting to listen to. very sad to unsubscribe and will be monitoring fan forums to see if there’s an improvement in the future.
  • michael.c.h
I love you guys, but the food talk is getting out of control.
I have been listening to you guys since your very first episode. I really love you both, but unfortunately the food talk on the pod has become extremely orthorexic, triggering, and borderline dangerous for audience members who may have disordered eating or clinical EDs. I am a registered dietitian and I work with individuals living with eating disorders and or compulsive exercise. I can’t tell you how many dozens of my clients have told me their eating disorders spun out from following people like Mark Hyman, Michael Greger, Dean Ornish, “Glucose Goddess” and the like. These individuals abuse their credentials and deal in fear and guilt, only to sell you the cure to the very things they got you to worry about. These individuals sell themselves as vanguards but really they are pariahs in the medical community because their assertions are not based on the highest quality evidence and often use theoretical or animal test studies (often exposing test rodents to doses of compounds 1,000s of times greater than a human would ever encounter). They use studies that seem legit to laypeople but are actually poor quality to people who understand the nuances of research science to serve as “evidence” for their own erroneous beliefs about food. They should have their board certifications revoked IMO. Restricting lots of specific foods or food groups altogether without evidence based, diagnosed medical necessity is not health promoting, in fact it leaves people susceptible to micronutrient deficiencies, malnutrition, gastrointestinal conditions, the list goes on. I hate to say it, but if we keep going down this rabbit hole, I can’t listen anymore. I would really encourage you to think about your audience, and the danger you might be putting them in by championing restrictive eating habits.
  • riridotcom
it’s not performance art. it’s disordered eating.
i LOVE jacqueline and kate — I’ve seen them both live multiple times, watched everything under the sun they’ve touched and POOG has been such a happy place of mine. HOWEVER, jacqueline’s food talk has gotten out of hand. it’s icky and unsettling to listen to her spiral about food and exercise with such obsession. it’s not performance art, babe. it’s a poorly disguised ED, and it’s extremely triggering to listen to and difficult to stomach.

vulnerability compiled with this level of brilliance, at least in the outlet of the podcast, is rare. This show is such a gift and brings me such an incredible sense of solace as a fellow woman, adhd weirdo, artist, and most importantly, human being.

Poog is the only podcast I listen to where I am unable to stop myself from writing down everything Jacqueline and Kate say. It has changed my life. I love you hags. Thank you.

Don’t do free promo! You’re worth it!
I love this podcast so much. However, I absolutely hate hearing Jacqueline and Kate doing free promos for products they should AT MINIMUM be receiving for free! Plugging Breville when all you got was a lousy coupon code? NO! Pitch perfect Rocket Money endorsement while you’re paying a subscription fee? NO. Brands are full of dumb dumbs who will pay you extraordinary amounts of money for these endorsements. At minimum get free product!!! Here’s my recommendation: you all got so much amazing audio during Road to Christmas of people standing up in a crowd to tell you which products they’ve purchased on your recommendation. We need a sizzle reel of this! We need quotes from the subreddit hags! Yall have a niche, intelligent audience these brands need to reach. Show them how meaningful your endorsement is!

Love this podcast - tongue/jaw PSA
Loving this pod - I feel like a funnier version of me is talking. Also Kate Hi! I didn’t know how to reach you about jaw stuff but I had huge success getting my tongue frenulum lasered (easy procedure) If you have a strong tongue attachment it can really impact jaw tension

    sad mail
someone needs to remind the hags they are going to get old and die . i miss the organ chatter, the symbolism, the spirituality. it’s all over shadowed by the PRODUCTS and MAIL. i also have a job where i get free stuff in the mail , you think that’s what’s keeping my world spinning ??? NO! reckoning with my own demise on the other hand…. keeping my hope but fearing the worse xx Edit: Extremely confused by the Starbucks reference in the most recent episode AND the Starbucks reference at the live SF show. do the hags support genocide ????

    sad hag
I really and truly love these two. I’ve seen both their shows, have followed their work for years. I can’t listen to any more about Tracy Anderson and her $200 crystals, Joe Dispenza, dietary restrictions or Erewhon. They promote more snake oily, pseudoscientific wellness stuff than the actual Goop podcast.
  • MLinnea
    Mostly love
Listen, I love Poog. I really do enjoy most episodes. But I simply have to speak my truth that the constant travel/hotel discussion has become grating. And the very frequent episode re-releases is hitting a nerve. If you’re not going to release an episode one week, just let it be, or don’t commit to a weekly schedule. God bless Poog.

Both would be great in Straightiolab
They would just be such excellent guests on Straightiolab together. Just love them. I’ve been b*tt-chugging apple cider vinegar.

    Love them as people
So deeply bored and confused by how boring this podcast is… I kept waiting for a point or really anything of substance
  • podster82
    Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Longtime listener, don’t enjoy writing this review, because I don’t expect (or want!) “perfection” every week. But the quality has steadily declined, for a while now. The aimlessness, endless interruptions, bland tangents — it just doesn’t land like it used to. And I get it! Nothing stays fresh forever. But I have a feeling the POOG tour is a swan song.
  • short.round.
    Love Kate
Wish Jacqueline would let Kate talk :)
  • ajn161
    Little good content
In the few minutes of actual substantive content, they are funny and interesting enough that I'm sad there are not more of these minutes. It's wall-to-wall ads, poorly cut so they sometimes even interrupt a thought, and overt plays for sponsored gifts from companies. It makes for a painful listen.
