Weekly Wilson

Are you passionate about politics? Are you watching the national debate raging in 2020? You’ll find a home here. Civility is required for entry. Let’s talk.

Do you love movies? Are you interested in movies and television shows? Would you like to hear from some directors, firsthand, and maybe even some of the stars of the future about their roles in those film(s)? Again, you’ll find a home here.

She covers film festivals in cities around the U.S.--- Chicago and Austin routinely--- and sometimes get the chance to speak with those in town for these film festivals.

I’ve been reviewing film since 1970. I started with a Midwestern newspaper, the Quad City Times, and moved on into digital reviewing for 3 blogs in 2003. The largest is The Movie Blog.com,---3rd in size online--- but you’ll also find my reviews up on my own blog Weekly Wilson (.com), just like this program. Check it out. It’s been around since 2007, so you’ll find new and old topics involving politics, movies, travel and things of local interest.

I contribute to the blog QuadCity.com in the Iowa/Illinois neighborhood where my Sylvan Learning Center and Prometric Testing Center were located for 20 years. I also write answers to questions on Quora.

No one has been able to pigeon-hole her interests or her writing. People have been trying to pin her down as to what I write and trying to limit me in that regard since 1956. Look her up at ConnieCWilson.com.

She has one Stephen King-like series, THE COLOR OF EVIL that was named Best Thriller Series of 2018 (by Shelf Unbound magazine), and I have a short story series, HELLFIRE & DAMNATION. But she also has a 6-book children’s series (“The Christmas Cats in Silly Hats”) and about 7 books on ghost stories from Route 66, written for Quixote Press, a book of humor, and a non-fiction book on movies (“It Came from the 70s: From The Godfather to Apocalypse Now.”)

Connie has taught classes at 6 colleges, have a Master’s + 30 in English, Education and Journalism and also taught junior high school Language Arts for almost 20 years. She was also Yahoo’s Content Producer of the Year for Politics in 2008. After 24 months of covering the presidential campaign, beginning in Iowa, that led to being inside at both conventions and publishing 2 books on the 2008 presidential race.(“Obama’s Odyssey: The 2008 Race for the White House,” Vols, I & II).

A an interesting aside, Connie has 2 kids born 20 years apart. Son Scott is an engineer in the steel industry who works for the German firm PSI. Daughter Stacey flies for Southwest Airlines. "Same husband, mine since the Earth's crust was warm", says Connie.
