The best NJPW pod out there!

    Unbearably Obnoxious
Completely insufferable, especially Damon who is a 50+ alcoholic who behaves like a teen girl and can barely string two sentences together because decades of ssris+alcohol have fried his brain

    Pastrami Sandwich
Joel and Damon have single-handedly kept my interest in NJPW up through the lean Covid years, props to them for that.

Just started listening and these guys are hilarious

    5 stars in the Dome
I’d give you 5 but I wanna keep you guys on yours toes and continue the grindset

Only the second half is about NJPW
This show has gone beyond the point of being insufferable over the past year. On nearly every episode the hosts will spend at minimum the first 20 minutes going off on a completely unrelated woke rant before they actually start discussing wrestling. They apparently don’t understand that no one listens to the show to hear about how people need to continue to wear masks or about how English football fans are racist. If you don’t feel like skipping ahead 30 minutes on every episode, I suggest getting your NJPW news elsewhere.

    Invaluable for NJPW fans
Damon has been watching NJPW for like 30 years, and he will teach you everything you need to know about the past and present of the best wrestling in the world. And even though Joel has only been watching for a fraction of Damon’s tenure, he has the proper enthusiasm and professionalism needed to hold his own with his old sensai Damon. This show is essential for me each week.
  • Sean O from Philly
    My new favorite podcast
You guys were already getting a five star review but after Damon threw some indirect love at Sweet Lucy’s in Philly, I gotta go 6 out 5, Meltzer style. I also love that Joel is an Arsenal fan. Great to hear you two chat about rasslin from the land of the rising sun in such an analytical and down to Earth manner.

Joel and Damon are hilarious and I always enjoy their takes even if I don’t agree with them

    Weekly Required Listening
Fans of the ART of pro wrestling often find their way to New Japan, and I can’t think of better watching buddies than Daemon and Joel. I look forward to their episodes every week for their unbiased, honest insights, ripe with (often off-color) humor.

    Uncle Dave would approve
Only gave it 5 stars because I couldn’t give it 10. Maybe line my pockets like the Elite did Meltzer and you would’ve got there ;) Keep up the fantastic work fellas 🍻

It is so difficult to find legitimate analysis and discourse conducted by educated NJPW fans. In a world that is oh so saturated with wrestling podcasts, this is one you should definitely make room for. I appreciate long-form conversations and these guys take their time.

The Super J-Cast provide excellent supplementary content for the greatest pro wrestling on the planet. With in depth discussions on news, events, and characters, the show compels you to take your time and really think about what you're watching. Joel and Damon have such wonderful chemistry you'd think they've known each other for decades. Both of them are very knowledgeable in the realm of NJPW and don't always agree on everything which leads to great conversation and again, compels you to think. Also the show is very open to answering questions and taking a dive into listener's observation. I can't reccomend this show enough so hopefully if you're looking to spice up your enjoyment of NJPW you'll hop along for the ride with the Super J-Cast.

    Fantastic, in-depth and passionate!
This is by far the best New Japan Podcast on the web! Joel and Damon are passionate and knowledgeable about New Japan and have great chemistry on air. I’ve listened to many New Japan Pro Wrestling based pod casts and these guys are by far the best and most entertaining. Not the official... but it’s the official.

    For Pro Grappling Lovers
I’d be lying if I said I agree with Joel & Damon on every subject, but its pro wrestling and that’s part of it’s charm, isn’t it? NJPW lovers or just fans of the puroresu/no-bs wrestling style should gravitate to this podcast. Those fans won’t be disappointed! Keep up the good work, gents!

    Great show with enjoyable host
Joel and Damon do a great job recapping and going on tangents. The best episodes are the ones where they get everything wrong after an event. I would lower the rating solely due to Joel being an Arsenal fan and Damon being a Flyers fan, but I spend a lot of time listening to them to be that petty. Keep up the great work.

    Great Show
Super show, always makes my drive to work a little better. F—- Energy is better than coffee

    Awesome Show!
This is my ONLY source of NJPW news and reviews.... always entertaining. Appreciate all of the work that goes into the show.

    Super J Cast
    Very good podcast, highly recommended

    Pure Trash
This show is at best 50% about NJPW. I’ve been listening since the purocast days and this new format is complete crap. After 41 minutes of casual discussion I get rewarded by listening to 30 minutes of mediocre wrestling takes before listening to a married middle age man window watching and skeeving some young lady while broadcasting. They constantly objectify the male wrestlers, and you know they’re the types who’d whine if the same was done towards Joshi wrestlers. (And they’d be right.) Thankfully this review will get dragged in their discord and on the Podcast because they’re insecure. TLDR; don’t recommend, it’s all downhill from here. Worst show on VOW.
  • Bangbang juice
    Damon is awful
Title says it all, the show would be much better if you let Joel loose for an hour or 2
  • Thehellezell
    It’s OK
Sometimes the “hot takes” feel like overreach but it’s OK.

    Miss the old Purocast
All due respect, but the show has taken a severe nosedive since Collin left and the Purocast changed. I want to keep listening but it’s gone from my favorite podcast to one I stopped subscribing and only listen to on occasion ... and even then I have to fast forward through a lot of the off-topic banter. It could be funny on the Purocast but now it’s way too much.

    what the $&@!? DAMON .....
The Old show was the reason I got into NJPW ...and then I listened and thought you were done . So I’m just scrolling podcasts and lord have mercy I see your name and immediately sub ....I’ve got a bunch of listening to do from the episodes I’ve missed but I’m really looking forward to catching up and a guide heading into WK season ....again I can’t tell you how truly happy I am I’ve stumbled upon you again ....great show as usual , keep it up

Great podcast with some bad anomalies
I really love this show. Exactly what I want out of a podcast. A lot of personal talk that lets me get to know the hosts and then plenty of talk about New Japan. Two things have really stuck out to me that I really don't like. The constant talk about how New Japan should hire them is really weird and unprofessional. I am a GM at a radio station and hearing that would be the reason I would never hire them. It is just offputting. The other thing on a recent show that really bummed me out was the host saying that they got a tip from inside the company that Tanahashi was going to turn heel. Now everyone who heard that show is expecting it and if it happens, the impact will not be near as cool as if it was completely unexpected. I really can't stand that kind of stuff. A spoiler is a spoiler and if you haven't watched a show and don't want to be spoiled, then don't listen to podcasts, but to get a potential spoiler of a future show is just not cool. Really like the show, but I wish the hosts would just be more professional in general.

    Great way to follow NJPW
Enjoy both Damon and Joel take everything NJPW. Keep the great work!
  • MPC_Sox
    Entertaining and Informative
It’s always great hearing a new episode from Damon and Joel covering the latest shows and general hodgepodge of strong zero, music and crisps discussion. The passion for and depth of knowledge on the product really shines particularly when the guys dive into their fandom of Ishii. Looking forward to hearing more - it’s been fun watching the G1 this year with the podcast as a companion piece. Thanks for the hard work!
  • Lendmeflight
    What a let down..
If you want to hear stories about Oasis concerts and Brit for an hour before they get to the actual pro wrestling talk then this is the show for you. Having a three hour podcast is ridiculous if a third of it is unrelated material. It’s not nearly as good as the old podcast.
  • walkerrtr
    6 Stars!!
Extremely informative and consistent content from Damon and Joel. Both are extremely knowledgeable, they often help fill in blanks with things i may have missed to make the product more enjoyable. Being relatively new to NJPW, their content makes the product that much more enjoyable. The crisp and music talk is just an added bonus to an already great podcast. Keep up the great work!!

An amazing NJPW podcast. The predecessor was unbelievably helpful in getting me into new japan in early 2018 and now the Super J cast keeps me up to date and interested in the product better than anything else out there. Wrestling fans - NOW is the time to start following NJPW and this podcast is a great way to get the ball rolling. 5 snakes.

    Thank you!
Thank you for everything you do with this podcast. I enjoy everything from the crisp banter to everything New Japan. Not trying to tell you waht to do....but: Keep up the good work guys!

    Great listen
Great entertainment with these 2 guys. Really good balance with 2 totally different personalities.

    My go to NJPW podcast
Been listening for a long time, and it's my companion piece to all my NJPW viewing. Joel and Damon provide context, analytical breakdowns, and great history tidbits to get the most out of shows and catch up in case you miss one. Could do with less crisp talk (I get it, it's a inside joke) but otherwise, out of all NJPW podcasts I've listened too this one is the Ace

    Great Show
Joel & Damon hit the sweet spot between analytical critique and having fun discussing the New Japan product. By far the best New Japan podcast out there and on my shortlist of required weekly listening for sure!

    Killing it
The addition of Joel is awesome. Admittedly newer to NJPW but he’s as passionate as Damon who’s watched for 20+ years. His VTR voice is on point too

    The best
The best NJPW review podcast there is!

    Fantastic Podcast
Hands down my favorite wrestling-themed podcast! Joel and Damon bring authentic, intelligent conversation about NJPW to the airwaves in a conversational format that makes it feel like you’re talking wrestling with a couple of great friends. The structure and pacing of the show flows naturally, and both guys know their stuff from their combined years as fans as well their thorough preparation for each show. I’ve tried other NJPW-themed podcasts out there, but this one is, in my opinion, the absolute best.

    Super J-Cast is super
It’s not always easy to find English language perspectives on what’s happening in New Japan Pro Wrestling and this is a great resource. A++

    Good stuff
“Pants down!” The best wrestling podcast around!
  • Jeremy Parente
The best Japanese themed wrestling podcast
I loved the Purocast and I love that the Super J Cast continues on in the wake. My favorite history lessons along side a great modern perspective. Just the best.

    Change the (Podcast) World
It is fantastic to have this podcast back in my life. I know very few people that follow NJPW, so this fills a void for me weekly. Damon and Joel compliment each other perfectly. So if you’re a fan of the best wrestling company in the world then this podcast is for you. 5 snowflakes easily!

Crisps, Life and Love of New Japan
Damon and Joel have great banter about many topics and have awesome analysis of new japan wrestling action. Great podcast and I always look forward to its release every week.
  • PGT11
    Awesome podcast for NJPW fans!
Damon and Joel make an awesome team and offer compelling deep dives on the NJPW product each week. Highly recommended if you are a viewer or are interested in New Japan Pro Wrestling!

    Lord Taichi Approved
Joel and Damon are excellent. They do a great job blending in wrestling talk with their predictions, reviews and answering Twitter questions with a very smooth and flowing format. Keep up the crisps talk. Damon should review American ones for us US fans
  • Jibaley
    Great Show
They provide a great blend of wonderful analysis of the current New Japan product and a bit of left field wrestling/potato chip(crisp) banter. If nothing else if you even remotely watch New Japan you should definitely listen to this podcast!

    ATTENTION PURO FANS!
iTunes didn’t get the memo that Big Dave decided to make the world go mental and broke the ratings scale. This isn’t 5 Stars, kids. This isn’t 7 Stars. No. No. No! These lads chime in at 7 1/4 Stars! Scale broken! Puroresu AND crips talk! Plus an occasional Joy Division reference by Damon. What more can you possibly ask for? SEVEN AND A QUARTER STARS!
