I found this podcast by accident. I’m extremely thankful for this. This Lindsay pours her heart out, capturing my emotions, inspiring me and does all of this in a very articulate manner. Lindsay is extremely intelligent, intellectual and inspirational with her many personal accounts. I binged on this podcast and finished listening within 7 days of starting it. I hope Lindsay uploads a few more episodes in the future!

The writing of these pieces is outstanding. Especially the episode about consent. It really changed the way I think about this topic. Sounds like there are no more episodes planned, but the archive is still there and worth listening to all the way through. The host makes reference to writing a book; I hope this comes out soon - I'll be ready to buy it right away.

Never would have dropped out of college

I admit that I have judged exotic dancers in the past, but this podcast has made me realize just how wrong my judgments were. I needed some insights into the world of stripping and dancing for an acting role, and a quick Google search brought me to this show. I listened to several episodes back to back and could not get enough. Far better than anything I could have read in a book. This brings you real-life stories and lets you really understand the world of the dancers and how they do their job. Amazing job!!

Treating your listeners like marks doesn't seem too bright to me. Where's your PhD from? Honestly, this time.

Lindsay (Astrid,Lux,mommy,etc..) relates stories from her years of dancing in glamorous and not so glamorous clubs around the Southeast US. Her voice oozes a pleasant drawl and her stories can be funny at times, but most are underlaid with a greater meaning or life lesson that she either picked up or wants to impart. These truths do not distract from the topic she languidly speaks of each week, I think they serve to give a glimpse into the psyche behind why some folks are drawn to the "outlaw" kind of lives like hers. Overall, a really good listen, and a refreshing change from the typical podcast.

Most people wonder what goes on behind closd doors of a strip club Because it's fasinating. Lux shares with us these stories, which makes her fasinating. If only most guys girls were as interesting as her, there would be no need for strip clubs...

Lux is a legendary storyteller, smart as a whip and isn't shy when talking about every corner of her experience as a stripper. And let's not forget how much we all love the cadence in that accent; it truly gives me life <3

I realize that this is a free podcast and that it's ridiculous to complain about a free product. But. But I really felt the need to warn people that might be interested not to waste their time. The existing ratings for this podcast are shocking to me, as they are incredibly positive. I have no doubt that Lux has a lot of interesting stories to tell. Because of this, I listened to about 4 episodes before giving up. I wish she had hired someone to help her write these out and/or 'perform' them. She is overly dramatic, grating, and has no sense of humor (at least shown in this podcast). There is no levity. At points, they sound like rantings from someone about to take to the nearest tower to pick people off one by one. Or a one woman show off off off off off off off broadway.

I hope I never meet Lux ATL, and I know she'd probably hate me, even though I've never been in one of her former workplaces. I've listened to every podcast, and it's like drinking scotch; it tastes bad, but in a fascinating way. I listen to her bad childhood, horrendous life choices (not the stripping, the other stuff), and attitude, and it's interesting. Interesting like watching a football these days; even on a successful play I think, "Man, I hope that never happens to me." So this is a look at a horrible life, one I'm very relieved I've never been close to. She's a good writer, though I could do without the dramatic reads; they just come off as melodramatic. I keep listening, though I'm pretty sure I've almost had enough

It's definetly a slice of life podcast from someone who has been there and done that and if it's something your intrested in then good on ya', but I can't bare to hear "a striper with a PHD" one more time or the piles of profanity.

On the whole, I'm massively picky about podcasts, but this is pure joy! Lux is an honest storyteller and doesn't hold back from showing the uglier, far less glamorous side of stripping. On the flip-side, you get the sense of the woman behind the pole. You can picture yourself sitting on the couch with her, wine in hand, while she's telling you these stories. Her storytelling is visual and compelling. Her accent is mesmerising. My only small complaint (tiny... almost non-existent) is about the awful music. It's just a background noise, but it sounds like it belongs in a 90s video-game. I'm sure that Lux is limited as to what music she can actually use due to copyright laws and, overall, it doesn't detract from the experience.

So raw, so inspirational, so beautifully written- I wish I could give this 10 stars instead of just 5. I also worked at the Paper Moon when I was a dancer and it was exactly how you described!! The Richmond one?? You have motivated me to write down my memoirs of my stripping days- I used to be so ashamed of dancing, by you help me to see that maybe there can be some good that came out of it if I share my story with other women... It's generally just not something women talk about, but you help me see that I don't need to be ashamed of it! Thank you Lux!

I have listened to the first of Lux's podcasts - Stripcast... Wow! With Lux's Southern draw, you are seduced into her story telling right away. With her use of tone and voice inflections, her description of people and locations become vividly real in the mind as she tells her story. I felt like I was watching the next HBO hit television series while just listening to her. Lux gets you to feel her emotions as she shares the tale of her last night of being a stripper. This witch's sorcery is strong and there is no escaping it once it has you in it's grasp. This was my first podcast I have ever listened to and like my first time, it was amazing!

I just listened to the first podcast, describing Lux's last night stripping and it hit me right to my core. With age comes wisdom and it's not always easy to transition into new worlds. Lux's story gets at the angst that leads up to such clarity of purpose in a way that is so tangible to me. I loved hearing how the switch was flipped for her. Great listen for anyone at all, because she's a brilliant story teller. Really great for anyone who shares her experiences…Triggering and healing. Really looking forward to hear more from her and follow her journey.

I've been a big fan of Lux ever since I was introduced to her a year or so ago by a fellow pole mate. She has inspired me and opened my eyes to many things, but hearing her podcast has been truly one of the best "getting to know you" experiences. I've always loved her ability to keep things raw, real and relatable and she doesn't disappoint with these first two episodes. Feels like a friend is talking directly to you.
