Sunny CheyenneSomething for everyone! This podcast is geared towards people participating in dog sports, but it has valuable and practical information for everyone with a dog in their life. Even though I don’t participate in dog sports myself (yet), the sport episodes offer me some of the best training advice! I’m so excited to keep listening to the backlog.

frostedthornAmazing, great resource!!I’ve been listening for the past couple months and concepts are actually sticking in my head. I feel kind of goofy about it because I’ve never actually owned a dog, but I feel that the general principles of training Sarah goes over are incredibly helpful when it comes to navigating stress and learning, both with dogs and humans. I can’t wait for the next episodes, and I hope to be able to apply this to my future dog🤩 Thanks again!

Jess&AlbusLove this podcast!Love this podcast! So many great episodes and honest talk about training from experts. Truly appreciate all the energy and time you put into this show! (Feedback: PLEASE try to balance out your audio so I can hear everyone at the same sound level! It’s really hard to listen to a quieter voice and a loud voice having a conversation)

JPinCBSuch a great podcast for all things dog-related!Sarah is brilliant and has a gift for keeping things real while also being compassionate with her guests and audience. This is more than a dog training and behavior podcast. Especially if you have a challenging dog, you will love Sarah! She is not afraid to dive into tough conversations!

MobeckrugEngaging discussions & great infoLove this podcast & Stremming’s approach! Been following for years & recommend it to fellow trainers & competition dog sport enthusiasts regularly

Dj monkeypantsGreat content from an excellent sourceI had never even listened to podcasts before o stumbled over this one by accident. And now I’m hooked and this podcast has actually been a vital resource for me as I navigated my way back to dog sports after a few years away, juggling a reactive COVID puppy and a high spirited Border Collie pup.

Reward Your Dog TrainingThe BombI love this podcast. It’s extremely educational and has deeply informed my training and approach to dogs.

R+OnlyDisappointingThis trainer was really disappointing when she suggested a patron to use a prong collar, even though she said she hasn’t used one in 17 years. There is ALWAYS a pain/discomfort free and force free option and to suggest use of such abusive tools in any capacity is irresponsible and saddening to hear coming from any trainer. I was really looking forward to this podcast after finding it, but I wouldn’t recommend due to this lack of compassion obviously shown.
-
Mimmu___Love it!I’m learning so much. As a dog mom and a dog walker I appreciate the accessibility for non trainers. Thank you! The only note I have is for the production team: the volume is very low compared to other podcasts or anything with audio really. Therefore I blast my ears off when I switch from this to listening to music or another podcast.
-
horseitup!Love it!I love Sarah’s blunt compassion. From answering questions to sharing real world cases I always finish an episode with a ton of good takeaways. I’m not kidding when I say Sarah’s work has changed my relationship with my dog - for the better.
-
Sheela RajjyMy favorite podcastSarah shares so many helpful tips - I’ve improved my relationship and training so much with my somewhat challenging dog by listening to this podcast and seeing things in new helpful perspectives. The insights are simple and powerful! Thank you Sarah. I also recommend joining her patreon :)

wackissejDog nerds, listen to this!I binged this whole show over the past few months because it is that good. You may not agree with everything Sarah says, but she will make you think and you will learn something. Lots of great guests, too!

DogMomma1982Really enjoyed today’s episode (1/20/21)I really enjoyed today’s episode in regard to dog behavior. The interview was very interesting and definitely in line with my beliefs. I love watching My dogs do something instinctual (like chasing a lure etc.), you can see the pure joy it brings to their eyes. Keep it up!

abbymhOnly listened to one episodeAnd it was “The Myth of ‘No Bad Dogs, Only Bad Owners.’” I just wanted to thank Sarah and Trish for this episode. I can’t even tell you all the parts of the discussion that resonated with me, are things that I’ve thought myself, but felt uncomfortable talking about with others. Debates about dogs, like so many things, have become polarizing, grounded in all or nothing thinking. And this was such a balanced perspective that I greatly appreciated. I look forward to listening to more episodes.

Learning LotsLove it!Thanks for making such an informative podcast!

Masgj245:36do yourself a favor and listenhands down my favorite training podcast, especially as a crossover trainer! love the regard and prioritization of dog emotions. Stremming is pleasant to listen to, has a good sense of humor, and is talented at conveying her points in an easily understandable, relatable (to the human) way - while demonstrating a massive passion for her subject matter.
-
ladyyas123Great!Really enjoying this podcast!

BeaglegoldThanks Sara!Love Cog Dog Radio! It has changed the way I see my dogs and completely opened my eyes to so many things about training.
-
MissgoodwinesYikesI find it incredibly frightening that someone who calls herself a dog trainer lost her dogs on a hike, required search and rescue teams to get the dog, and she's giving out advice in a public forum about hiking with dogs. I hope she reviews Leave No Trace principals (including those that show just how much of an impact dogs have on the trail, even ON leash) and rethinks her authority on hiking with dogs. And also dog training... Because no real trainer would lose their dogs in the woods.
-
dorenchuIf you own a dog, listen to this podcast. Not just for dog trainers. Valuable information you can’t get anywhere else. Truly is the missing link with reward-based training. This is positive reinforcement 2.0.
-
Happy it's above freezing!I’m totally addicted!I’m really loving the honesty of this podcast and while it focuses on positive training methods, I feel like it really tries to avoid shaming those of us who haven’t always had the knowledge or skills needed to use 100% positive methods. I loved the discussion about the barking sheltie and her distressed elderly owner. I feel like you all live in the real world of dogs and remember/understand that not everyone has had your background and this doesn’t make them any less in love with their canine companions.
-
Bouv MomI love this podcast!I started listening a few months ago and enjoyed it so much, I went back to the first episode and listened to them all. It’s absolutely perfect for my dog training geekiness 😁 New episodes are the highlight of my week!
-

julesrunningwildThought Provoking and InsightfulI have finally caught up with all of Sarah’s podcasts here at Cog Dog Radio. I’m so glad to have stumbled upon this one. The episodes always get me thinking and chewing on not just the mechanics of “sits” and “downs”, but the big questions of training philosophies and the human-dog relationship. It blows my mind on the regular. 🤯😜 Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your journey with us!
-
Zouster101As a dog trainer, this is wonderfulShe's so spot on and is so easy to listen to and these stories are a great learning tool

Amelia LooperA Humane Perspective on Dogs, Training, and SportsThis is THE lifestyle podcast for the dog enthusiast. Training concepts and case studies are addressed, as well as general philosophies and approaches to life with dogs. Sarah is a curious and compassionate host, with a perspective solidly grounded in kindness to humans and dogs.

Non sporting dog momNon sporting dog momWe are taking an agility class to keep my very special dog moving and help lose weight. An instructor recommended cog-dog and I fell in love can't stop after the first episode Sarah used the line "How to deal with the special dog the world gave you." Gives me new ways to think about my Pint.
-
3Dog FamilySo glad I found thisI love listening to Sarah. In fact, I don't remember what life was like before her podcast! I feel as if she's really talking to ME (even though we've never met). Sarah takes a scienficic approach to behavior modification, and the reasons behind her choices are well explained. The case studies are particularly fascinating.
-
bscrainGreat PodcastAs a dog trainer we are constantly trying to learn new avenues of approach in adjusting behaviors in our dogs. Sarah is absolutely amazing at what she does and can offer very valuable insight into dogs that applies well outside of the sports ring. Kudos and keep up the hard work, we enjoy listening and learning from your trials and tribulations.
-
Relax, Rover.Thank you!Thank you, Sarah, for this amazing podcast! I recently learned about it and have already found it so helpful as an aspiring trainer and dog owner. I just listened to “Getting It Wrong,” and couldn’t be more grateful to hear trainers with so much experience talk about failure as a way of learning and moving forward. It would definitely be brilliant for trainers to talk more about their errors and how they have changed and improved their methods and beliefs. Just imagine how much that would help all of us aspiring trainers!
-
ahitchcock0808Great resource for dog trainers!I cannot get enough of this podcast. I love the way Sarah approaches problems and is able to generalize specific issues in ways that can be applied to other situations. Keep up the good work!
-
MachborzoiFascinatingAs someone who is new to behavior modification, I find this podcast absolutely invaluable. I've been working through some fear/reactivity issues with one of my dogs and I've gotten wonderful insights from this podcast that I never would have thought of before. Thank you for sharing these compelling stories with us :)
-
IDSheltiesHooked on CogDog!Thoughtful, inventive, thorough persistent, and kind. The dog training, sport and behavior community is beyond lucky that Sarah shares her experiences and expertise with us through this medium!
-
averydeadbirdBehavior nerds uniteSarah is a fabulous resource. We need more trainers who understand both dog sports and dog behavior, especially behavior "problems" motivated by emotional issues. I'm glad that she can reach more people via podcast, and the topics lend themselves well to this format.
-
DbevdogloverFun & InformativeHave really enjoyed listening to the podcasts. Love the format, and Sarah has an easy and comfortable way of talking that just makes you feel like you're two friends sitting over coffee talking dogs.
