    SO. CUTE
Oh my god this is the cutest thing!!!! The voice acting isn’t the best, and the audio quality is pretty awful, but the characters are FANTASTIC and it literally brought me to tears

    Fun stuff
The audio quality is terrible, and the voice acting can be rough, but the story is really nice. The pros far outweighs the cons.

    Very Cute Story
Romantic Comedy says it all. It is a great and witty story. I won’t lie, the microphone quality isn't the best, but it isn't that bad either. You will get used to it and the story does make up for it by far.

    Amazing, inclusive, and adorable
It’s a very sweet podcast with a nice take on the typical “trope-y” view of romance

catch me crying over this show
I binged the whole show in an evening and it made me so happy oh my god! As a young queer person it makes me so happy to see such effortless queer rep, especially in the middle of a pandemic. I will absolutely be buying samoas in honor of Harrison come girl scout cookie time! 11/10 this is my favorite trope <3

It seems like this podcast has been removed from the store? It was recommended to me but I can’t play it.

    Pure fluffy happiness
I listened to this in the middle of the pandemic and the serotonin it gave me was INCREDIBLE. It’s short so I felt accomplished for finishing it but I also loved the characters and didn’t want to stop listening. Top notch

    Loved it!!
I really loved this one. It was short and sweet and the characters they built were amazing. I'm sad its over because I feel like I lost a couple friends.

    High hopes but ultimately disappointed
Fresh off of listening to Penumbra and Gimlet’s Two Princes, two beautifully produced queer podcasts, Kaleidotrope came highly recommended. And while the concept in theory seemed like a dream come true, the execution was far from that. Compared to those other podcasts Kaleidotrope is obviously an amateur production. The sound quality is a bit off, there could be more background and foley, it lacks polish. Aside from the two leads who are standouts the rest of the voice acting is either average or below. The pacing is extremely odd, revolving around a plot point that is extremely obvious the outcome early on and play it out for far too long. It starts strong in the beginning but drags on in later episodes to the point even the leads’ chemistry could not save it. Someone in a review says it feels like someone wrote a fanfic for their school AU otp with little idea of a plot and with the amount of banter vs substance it feels that way. It’s a shame because it has good building blocks-the leads are great voice actors and there were a few moments in their talks about love they brought up genuinely good, emotional points. The concept is interesting if a bit trite/not well-explained. Their dynamic is genuinely good and believable. However, a good couple can only carry a show so far and by ep 10 I was skipping parts because I was so bored. Kaleidotrope had potential that could have been saved by better pacing and production, but ultimately its a pass for me.

    Kaleidotrope
This show is absolutely fantastic! I’m having to slow my pace and listen to the same episode multiple times because I don’t want to get to the end not knowing for sure if there is going to be a season two! I can literally feel the emotion during some portions that I literally find myself having to sit down and listen to every word while holding my breath! So good! So amazing! Rivals any good television program! This deserves some kind of podcast award! I cannot say enough about this show! Congrats to the cast and crew for making this show happen! Whatever I have to do to ensure there is another season, I will do it, click it, pay it, follow it, support it, promote it.... WHATEVER! Very well done! Congrats! - 08/13/19

    Hopefully a season two?
I've really been missing this show since the first (??) season ended. Loved the banter and conversations between Harrison and Drew, and think it's a really loving exploration of tropes - not trying to overturn or tear them down, but investigate them in a fun and engaging way.

    Beautifully written.
This podcast means so much to me; I’ve probably listened to it four times through in the past six months. Okay, first of all, the romance is adorable and well-paced. This goes hand-in-hand with all the banter they do, which shows a MASTERY in dialogue; so often to they not say exactly what they mean, especially when they’re both pining for each other. Second of all, the subversion of all these different tropes is unbelievably refreshing, and the main theme of love being a choice, being itself a subversion of the “love is magic” trope was really clever and inspiring! The audio quality could be better, but it doesn’t detract from the writing. In short: well-paced, well-written, with a subversive and inspiring message about love.

I need more Drew and Harrison!! This show makes me smile so much!!

Too much tell, not enough show
A decent concept that was poor in its execution. The two main voice actors do their job well but even their talent isn’t enough to breathe life into this unintentionally ironic attempt at deconstructing popular tropes used in fanfiction. The whole podcast feels like someone wrote a slightly generic and mildly charming magical college au for their otp and then decided it would make a brilliant podcast. There is such a thing as too much banter. And there was too much banter here. An entire narrative cannot rest on unoriginal banal banter between two actors who luckily do have chemistry together.

    💕💕💕
Absolutely love this show! Very cute, and I’m hoping for a season 2! My only issue is the poor audio quality, and the general sound engineering leaves much to be desired. However, that doesn’t really take away from the actual story, which is really sweet and silly (with a little heart-wrenching action as well).

    Must Listen
I didn't even make it through the trailer without a little squee of excitement! I binged through the show in about a day and now my cheeks hurt from grinning like an idiot and it was so adorably sweet I think I got a cavity. Just lots of happy fluff with the occasional sucker punch of feelings. Everything you want in a ship!

    pls listen to it
Ok, so this podcast is a masterpiece. It's self described as a "queer fanish rom-com" so like, imagine everything you could want out something with that description and you're picturing Kaleidotrope. So yeah, I really love this podcast and would literally die for Drew and Harrison. (Also, the fandom is small, but amazing, and the creators are so encouraging of fan works it's wonderful.)
  • LiteralTrashFire
    Keep it up!
So good ❤️💜💚 I would love to see you guys incorporate the “soulmate countdown wrist clock” trope into the story. Pretty bizarre, but one of my faves!

This is incredibly cute and has great dialogue!
I should already have expected the great, fast-paced banter, given the writers of this podcast, but I was still surprised by just how easily I was drawn in and how well the moves from one emotion to the next were throughout the first episode. I ended the podcast smiling to myself because I knew I had no choice but to subscribe and keep “hearing” (ha) their story unfold through funny banter, awkwardly adorable attraction, and surprisingly moving confessions.

    Meh
Romantic Queer Podcast - Yay! Rav/Rocky/Harrison - Annoying. I really want to like this podcast, but with two episodes in and it's given no reason to believe that the two protagonists would spend any time together. Rav/Rocky/Harrison is too precious, uses inane language like "meet cute" and "hearers" that is very off putting, and really seems to have no respect for his cohost Drew. If you could tone it down/ground it just a little bit in reality, it could be fun, but right now it feels very much like it's a high school drama production.

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Only one episode in and I can already tell this is going to become a must-listen-to-as-soon-as-humanly-possible-when-released podcast. The characters are lovely, the actors have incredible chemistry, and the writing is gorgeously character-driven banter. Can’t wait to hear what comes next!
