I am a minister in the Christian Reformed Church. I have a YouTube channel where I do commentary on religion, theology, belief, and thought leaders like Jordan Peterson, Eric and Bret Weinstein, the IDW and anything else I find interesting. I also have conversations with many in my audience.

Sam Harris triggers up you, not the other way around
Paul —you’re fantastic, you strawman Sam Harris and don’t understand the most basic things he talks about. Before you get triggered discussing him again, talk to Sam or someone who gets it. You just sound silly to people who get Sam when you try to execute a takedown like in your most recent podcast.

    Excellent Teaching
I have listened to PVK for years. I started b/c he was the only one covering Jordan Peterson from the Christian prospective. I stayed b/c PVK has a good eye for analysis regarding culture and philosophy while staying grounded in Biblical truths, yet never “preachy”. He has really helped me understand the currents running through our troubled times.

    Perfect
Combines both aspect of history, philosophy and religion in such a way it makes you want to delve more into the subjects. Also, I find your way of talking far more interesting. Keep it up!

    A true blessing
Paul is a joy to listen to. Although he just “hits record and goes” for the most part, he always produces a steady stream of interesting ideas. He grounds high-flown concepts like only a true pastor can, while simultaneously starting several hundred fires in his talks that have launched rockets of thought through the reaches of my mind. Paul is memeing the work of God in far reaching ways. For example, my work now also has Paul’s name on it somewhere in the spirit. Yours might too.

Ancient and Modern Two Level Theories
Yes, I made it through all four hours of the longest podcast ever. Not all at once, but I enjoyed it. I wouldn’t know how to separate it, as you synthesize a number of different ideas, the payoff is worth it though.

    Thoughtful, deep, genuine, and important
I am continually impressed by Paul’s ability to speak across the aisle—politically, religiously, etc.—and his ability to maintain both humor and gravity in every conversation he has. This podcast is important for anyone who thinks about the deep things in life, the stuff nobody talks about these days.

    For Jordan Peterson fans
Paul gives an in-depth and unique perspective on JBP. If you're a fan who has listened to JBP so much you know his positions by heart, give this man a try. I really enjoy his raw prep sessions for his Sunday sermons as well, as someone who enjoys the theological "meat" of sermon and not the theatrics. Highly recommended.

    Charitably Traversing Centeries
I’ve been listening to Paul a great deal lately and he reminds me of some of my most appreciated profs from my college days. I believe he’s honest, fair, and careful with his treatment of ideas and conversation which is quite a breath of fresh air these days. The way treats his content reminds of the wisdom found in a forward on the importance of reading old books by CS Lewis in Athenasius’ On The Incarnation. Paraphrased, the thought goes something like, ”One wouldn’t want to walk in on a conversation at 10pm that’s been going on since 8pm and assume they haven’t missed anything relevant that has shaped the conversation.” I imagine Paul’s charitable conversation will help many of us carefully navigate through chronological and formational snobbery.
