    Qualified and Unique
This quickly became my favorite board game pod. Gamers taking games that have enough experience their perspectives matter. Sprinkled with history and crunch and we have a winner. Great content!!

    Top notch podcast
I’m a big of fan of the board game content that the Ascent of Boardgames panel produces on a regular basis. The format is currently a history of x genre of game. What I find fascinating is this groups’ ability to find random games that you’ve probably never heard of relating to the current topic. Vastly superior to other board gaming podcasts that I listen to. Definitely worth your time, and a must check out.

Great podcast with extremely intelligent insight
AoB is my go-to to get a really deep understanding of what makes games work (or not!) The content is very approachable and covers a wide variety of types of games. It helps me understand the underpinnings of the games I love, and has suggestions for more I'd like to try.

Very deep podcast about the history of the hobby
These guys are avid gamers who each have an independent and interesting POV. Each episode covers a narrow slice of the hobby and cover both the styles of games and a detailed history of releases ( having come of age in the 70s, I am often left with a touch of nostalgia) up to the current year and they have play experience with most of them. The show is edited better than a lot of professional podcasts with excellent sound mixing, no dead air and almost no cross talk. The only negative is it makes me regret having little time to play and makes me want to spend way too much money. If you are at all interested in BoardGames, you will not regret following this podcast

Just what I was looking for
If you prefer boardgame podcasts to include discussions about craft beers, whiskey, super hero movies, pop music, or early childhood gaming, this podcast might not be for you. Ascent of Board Games is a thoughtful and thorough discussion about games and game history from a group of adults who know their stuff. I really hope they're able to sustain the quality output.
