Brain Inspired

122

Neuroscience and artificial intelligence work better together. Brain inspired is a celebration and exploration of the ideas driving our progress to understand intelligence. I interview experts about their work at the interface of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, philosophy, psychology, and more: the symbiosis of these overlapping fields, how they inform each other, where they differ, what the past brought us, and what the future brings. Topics include computational neuroscience, supervised machine learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, convolutional and recurrent neural networks, decision-making science, AI agents, backpropagation, credit assignment, neuroengineering, neuromorphics, emergence, philosophy of mind, consciousness, general AI, spiking neural networks, data science, and a lot more. The podcast is not produced for a general audience. Instead, it aims to educate, challenge, inspire, and hopefully entertain those interested in learning more about neuroscience and AI.

NEURO-AI course : does it work???
Enrolled in the course that is being advertised currently with the promotion. Sadly, all I have received is just an invoice, no login info or other info on how to get started! Furthermore, m stuck with no support option! Dump your web host Paul!

    Sincere and Personal
This is clearly a podcast built out of passion for a deep and important topic, the topic of who we are, what underlies our cognition, how do we build and understand cognition

    Episode 037 and below missing
Wanted to watch Sam Gershman’s Free Energy Principle episode, but found that all episodes below BI038 are missing.

    Stop feeding responses
It would be nice if the interviewer asked more open-ended questions and stopped injecting his expectations of the person’s experience.

Engaging interviews with leading neuroscience experts
The Brain Inspired podcast continues to deliver high quality content at the intersection of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Complex topics are tackle at ease and pull in the audience at all levels of expertise. The casual style and personal touch give any complex topic a needed touch of familiarity. I walk away informed every time and come back more. Never disappointed. Kudos on a great format and the relentless pursue of the amazing.

    Good for professional neuroscientists
I’m a neuroscience professor at an R1 university, and this seems like conversations my colleagues and I might have. I can’t really tolerate more “pop” podcasts on brain stuff because of the inaccuracies, but this one is spot on.

    Something to think about.
I am an interested layman of AI and brain science. This podcast is sometimes way over my head but still extremely interesting to me. I like the quiet no-hype, no-nonsense presentation of Paul Middlebrook. I am currently only at the fourth episode and hope it continues in the same vein. Recommended for anyone with a functioning and curious brain.

    Great In-Depth Discussions
I’m a third year undergraduate psychology student interested in pursuing neuroscience in grad school. This is one of the most informative and enjoyable podcasts that I listen to. Always feels like I come out on the other end of an episode with a new insight or perspective. I particularly appreciate the emphasis that the host places on the more philosophically difficult questions that many professionals in the field prefer to avoid, such as the relationship between consciousness and cognition. I recommend this to anyone interested in psychology, neuroscience, or AI.

    One of the best
This is one of my favorite podcasts, and one of the 2 or 3 I support financially. Nicely produced, good length, and plenty of depth without being incomprehensible (usually!) I’d rather have the depth though. I am not personally a researcher but intensely follow this topic as a layperson. Thanks for the podcast and keep it up!

    Excellent show; All-star guests
So glad I found this show! The biggest scientists in the field are featured here and the discussions are intelligent yet accessible for non-specialists.
