Five years ago, Molly Weaver, Bryan Anderson, and Nathan Howell started a podcast focused on the local legend of a monster called The Blackwood Bugman. Quickly, the investigation grows out of their control, as they discover that, not only are the legends seemingly true, many people in Blackwood have turned up dead or disappeared without a trace. Worse, there may be a reason why no one has ever uncovered the truth before. Someone is watching them, willing to do whatever it takes to keep the secret. Their recordings have finally been released.

Just okay

I just finished listening to all episodes. I am a fan of this genre, and I think it was just a little to easy to see what was coming. I kept waiting for there to be a twist I wasn’t anticipating, but it never came.

Chef's kiss

I love scary stories, scary movies, all things horror. I feel like I've become a little desensitized to it. I just started the first episode and the moment of realization/reveal about "what" the Bug Man really is just gave me full on goosebumps. I had to leave a review right away. Absolutely loving this so far!

Good but sad to see it go

I absolutely love that some people are trying to bring back story telling on the radio (now podcasts) however if you look up their website (skylarkmedia.com), it redirects you to something completely different and I can’t find any other information. So fun to listen but understand that there will most likely not be an ending.

Engaging but where’s the closure?

I was into this podcast. It’s a well told story but I guess the budget ran dry? Typically the end of a season is marked with some answers but we didn’t get any. Hopefully there is a season two!

I love it! Perfect mix of suspense and humor

I’m a bit of a podcast snob. I love the idea of podcasts, but I have a hard time finding content that actually gets me invested. However, Blackwood had me hooked from the start. Once I started I couldn’t bring myself to stop listening! I can honestly say that this podcast is the best I have ever found. The production quality is high, the story is incredible, the characters are easy to connect with, and it does not try to compensate for lack of creativity through excessive language. I cannot express how impressed I am with Blackwood. I hope to see it resurrected for another season soon!

When I first started listening to this podcast I thought it was just another teen fiction podcast . . . yawn. But it is really well done! The acting is excellent! And the storyline is really intriguing! I highly recommend this one!

Short But Sweet

I listen to GTTU and Will Rodgers mentioned Blackwood and how it was inspired by Blair Witch. It’s a quick listen, but I really cared about the characters. For fans of Borrasca.

Worth a listen

I had heard poor things about this podcast, so I didn’t make a point to listen. I’m glad I did, definitely worth a listen. Interesting themes that don’t rely on easy ways out like other horror/drama podcasts. I would listen to a second season.
