  • money money great
    Amazing
It’s so cool. It’s like Harry Potter but flipped I will listen to it so so so so so much anybody reading this you should definitely listen to it if you’re a Harry Potter fan and you love Harry Potter so so so much you should definitely listen to this. I have been listening to this for a while now and I have just fell in love. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and I love the rationality because I’m an older grade now and my teacher talks a lot and I love learning and this is just taking learning to a whole new levelhomeschool, but you can listen to it whenever I listen to sleep and it’s one of the videos. I set a timer. I also love that it’s not one thing it’s over 100 there are so many podcasts that are only one episode and I hate it. So if you are someone reading this, I say you should definitely listen to this podcast.

Best Alternate Plot I’ve Heard Yet
This has to be the best alternate time line for Harry Potter I’ve ever heard or read. **Update** Now that I am caught up to November 2023, I gotta say, this is one of my favorite podcasts ever. I follow some great stuff like NoSleep and The PPP, and even LeVar Burton Reads, but this podcast has quickly eclipsed the others. My only fear is that it’s about to conclude.

    Hermione
Hermione is his protection. She is his shield. He needs to get to her and use her as she is intended to be used. No one there can attack or harm her. How Harry does that is unknown.

    Wonderful listen!!!!
Can’t stop listening! Great fan fiction . I listen every evening when I get in bed. Wonderful way to enjoy Harry Potter without directly funding JK. I truly appreciate the voice acting and divergent time line of this Harry Potter world

Escape reality while getting a college education
Love Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality and this reader. Take Harry Potter and give him a different adopted dad (a good guy, not Vernon Dursley), compress all 7 years into one book, get an amazing college-level class on rationality while being completely entertained by amazing plot twists with characters you already know and love… I save it to listen to during medical procedures as it helps me escape the miserable pain of the process!
  • Brooke952
    Narrator
If the book could just be read normal then maybe more stars. The narrator is just so bad it’s so so hard to take this seriously.

    Alternate Potter reality
This has been such a pleasure to listen to. Dare I say this is how J.K. should have went with the story. Brilliant, imaginative and smart. I hope this keeps going for all the years. Do you plan to continue? I sure hope so. Thanks for all your voices and hard work.

  • Usetherod
Imperfect but awesome book, excellently narrated
The story is fun, even if the writing can be a bit inconsistent. All the 11 year olds are too precocious, but if you just enjoy the ride you are in for a real treat. Exploring the wizarding world through the lens of the enlightenment and rationality is a delight. For example, I never considered how evil or compromised the ministry of magic is to employe dementors in its criminal justice system. Or how challenging it would be to prove guilt in a world of Polyjuice potion, time turners, memory charms, and imperio curses.
  • SaeedSut
    Good and bad
Admitting the fact that I hate the idea of mugglising magic by trying to explain it, and the boring argument of science vs magic, still for someone who’d suffered 7 books of stupid events, unreasonable incidents, unjustifiable outcomes and totally, a whole weak irrational storyline ending everytime to the boring phrase of “love and friendship”, I liked the scheme of reasonable thinking and rationality which is valued equally in the muggles’ world and ours. Although some arguments are unnecessarily too long, the general way in which things are going on in this world - though may be somehow less pattionate - at least doesn’t insult any sane mind! Well done for fixing some of the crap that mid-level aweful muggle author Rowling has left in our childish history!
  • YourDearUser123
    Shame on you!!!
How dare you turn the great series into this??? THE VOICE IS HORRIBLE!!! THE PLOT LINE IS WEAK!!! HARRY IS A GOOD PERSON!!! SHAME ON YOU!

    Blown away
Was very surprised to find this since I’ve listened to the other version multiple times all the way through. I have many issues with the other version despite it also being good. But this new version is a much needed alternative. Very professional, evenly read, well voiced, great characters. Thank you so much for this audiobook!!
  • Emma Grainger
    What the heck!?
Episode 7 is poo, talking about trying to murder someone! Harry Potter would not talk about murdering sum one, nonsense think about it. Worth lesioning to, 5 out of 10. 2 stars.
  • I put the D in detritus.
What if Harry Potter was Ender’s Game?
The enemy is down. Bend the rules to your will.

    Meh😒
It’s okay. Not as good as the original, chapter 7 was just bad. But it is still good, worth listening to. original 10.03 this one, 6.25. Original is better, but good job.

    Better than the original
This book is well written, well narrated, and fixes many of the things I disliked about the original. Any Harry Potter fan needs to check this out!

Episode 6 and I AM DONE!!!
What in the actual heck did I just listen to?!? How on earth can you take such a wonderful story and turn it into this?! There are things discussed that have no business in a book that will be easily accessible by children. Shame on you!!!!!!
  • naturallyreneee
    Gets better every upload
I found this podcast by accident and I am so proud of the development and creativity of this podcast keep it up !
  • Carol Marvellette
    You ruined Harry Potter
Harry Potter was such a good, lovable character in the books because he was so kind, empathetic, innocent, thoughtful, and lovely. In this version, he’s cocky, manipulative, selfish, spoiled, egotistical and bratty. In fact, there have been many times where I find myself just wanting to yell at him and tell him to stop being such a brat and to stop complaining that no one listens, that he’s literally being so dramatic and that he has it easy. By taking away the true essence of the character, which was the true essence of the original stories, it detracts from the story that you’re trying to tell. And when you can’t connect with, much less like, the main character, there’s not a good way to connect with the story. When you have a dislikable character, you don’t have the right foundations to build a story. Even if you’re trying to make Harry seem like the villain, you still have to make him likable, else everything else just falls apart. Like Doctor Doom or the Master: They’re both villains, but by all the stars, they are FANTASTIC villains! I think you have a good idea, you just need to work on your character of Harry a bit. Good luck and allons-y!

    Incredible reading
Jack Voraces’ reading of HPMOR, while not the first, will certainly be rememered as the best. A high quality voice actor, and a fantastic reading of the material. Bravo.
  • Nabroc Majere
    Worth listening to
If you are a fan of Harry Potter, or if you liked the concept of the world setting but had some problems with how it all worked… give this series a try. It is a brilliant story with compelling characters that will be familiar to fans of the books, but will give you so much more than you were expecting. It is well written, well thought out, respectful of the source material, and offers a whole new take on things. I have read this story once and listened to it 3 times now. I love this story and I’m willing to bet that you will too.
  • Oakwoodguy
    Brilliant
Unless I have somehow been enchanted, this may be the most brilliantly fascinating story I have ever heard.
  • L. F. D. 12
    Fantastic!
Thank you so much! This is such a wonderful narration of a wonderful book! I look forward to every new episode!
  • Dr. Ted 1973
    Great book, okay reader
I’m not overly fond on the voices. Harry and Snape in particular have annoying voices. But the book is SO good. The reader’s timing and inflection are spot on, so that helps.
  • Blueberry Fathead
    Jack Voraces
Jack Voraces has an extremely unpleasant way of reading, I much Preferred the Ezneas version.
