I’ve been really excited about my upcoming trip to Japan and I’m trying to learn more about Japan. I’ve really enjoyed listening to these guys and I like how natural the podcast is. It’s a really good listen if you have an upcoming trip to Japan, or you just want to learn more

I recently got back to the US from a solo trip to Japan. This was my first time there and this podcast was huge in helping me prepare. I stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima, with day trips to Yokohama, Uji, Nara, Himeji, and Miyajima in between. I had an amazing time! I can see why Paul and Jason are so enthusiastic for such a fantastic country full of great people. The things you’ll learn from this show will enhance your travel experience, and give you tons of ideas for future trips. I was looking for a good podcast to help me prepare for a trip to Japan and stumbled on this. I started at episode 1 and binge listened through the whole series over the next few months. Jason and Paul do a fantastic job at getting you hyped to go see these wonderful places! And you also learn more about the culture, and the history which adds incredible depth and more meaning. They go pretty deep and the format is really nice on how it’s broken down. I have enjoyed episodes I thought I would never enjoy (like baseball and politics in Japan) but the are both so passionate and funny (like totally my kind of humor) I can’t help but love every one. No kidding, I’ve liked them all. And listened to many more than once because there is just so much information and it’s very helpful. So if you love Japan and/or want to visit this is a great resource and fun way to learn, plan, and laugh.

This podcast was a lifesaver when we were planning our first trip to Japan last year. It was great to have the episodes to reference to when we were on our trip too. It was fun being on the train to Nara while listening to the Nara episode! Jason & Paul are super entertaining and make all Japan topics fun to listen to - I think they’ve convinced me to try Natto and I’m not an adventurous eater! 😂 We are headed back to Japan this fall and I found the episodes just as helpful (if not more!) than the first time I listened to them. Keep up the great episodes guys!

Such a refreshing review on everything and anything you are interested and especially before a trip! Going to Japan this September and I feel fully equipped with knowledge by listening to these guys. Truly can’t wait to go and if you’re planning a trip, give this podcast a listen.

Overall very good. I appreciate that they mostly stay on topic and away from their political opinions. Item of the week is annoying though. Pretty ironic they went straight into it right after complaining about capitalism for 5-10 minutes during the mental health episode.

My wife and I are headed to Japan in late October for a 14-day trip to Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima with day trips to Kamakura, Nikko, Nara, Himeji and Miyajima Island along the way. I have spent hundreds of hours reading guide books, online travel blogs, watching YouTube videos—if I see another video of a young couple showing up at a site that is closed or filming themselves eating ice cream, I will give up on the future of the human race forever—but did not find a quality podcast for months until I found this one. These guys are superb and have helped me confirm a lot of what I have already concluded, but also challenged the accuracy of what I have read or heard and given me new ideas of how to make this trip as good as it can be. Bravo!

I have a trip to Japan coming up in October and I’ve been blowing through all these podcasts! I love how there’s not only travel tips but also historical context for each site and activity that you’d want to do! It’s given me so much more backstory to Japan and the places I want to travel to! And I love the personalities of the hosts! Their enthusiasm gets me so excited to go on my trip! Thanks fellas and keep them coming!

I’m currently traveling Japan and love to learn more about places while I’m visiting. This podcast has been amazing while on transit, getting ready, etc. I love to listen to episodes while in a city or before going to know the best things to do/understand the history a bit. I definitely recommend listening for any upcoming travel plans or just to scratch your interests. :)

I love the show, but stop swearing! Now due to parental controls I can’t listen to most of these episodes. I really wanted to listen to the kawaii one as I’m a kawaii person! It used to be perfect.

Fantastic job, guys. Listened to this before my trip and during to put some context and background to the things I was seeing. Calming voices and the hosts have a great repertoire. Lots of useful information provided in an easy to digest format.

I found this while planning an upcoming trip to Japan and have found it so helpful. I love just being able to pick a topic from the list of episodes and just learn a bit more about the culture or what I might see. This podcast was a critical resource for me in planning my trip to Japan. It helped me plan my itinerary and informed me about so many things from tips on getting around, what to eat/drink and how to do so, every aspect of the culture you can think of, and as much history as you would like. I love how each episode is on a certain topic, so I could pick and choose the order in which I learned things about Japan.
