I really like his his approach to drumming.
I have been following Mr. Taylor’s YouTube channel for a while and just found this podcast, the interview are insightful and the drum tips are on point. What really hook me in is his approach to drumming and life. Then agin it dose not hurt that he is a great drummer.

    Exactly what I need
I am as far away from being a professional drummer as possible and yet, somehow, the same issues plague me as seem to haunt more experienced players: how do I deal with not liking my band’s chosen music? How can I be slightly flamming what should be unison hits? And on and on! Thanks so much for this, Stephen! Your answers to these questions (and accompanying angst) are so helpful!

    Tama Questions
I have an issue with lugs on floor tom. Brand new maple star classic. I have two lugs that lose tension before the pitch goes as low as the other lugs. The other lugs are lower in pitch but still have tension. I use Evans coated G2 and also Remo coated emperors. Great show God bless. Also, I’d like to listen to you as an artist. What are your recordings?

    Complete
When the student is ready the teacher will appear. This is proof to me. Stephen can take any subject at any level and explain in a way that anyone can understand. And has the gift of giving you the tools to teach yourself. I thought I would be inspired most by the music I listen to. Found out it’s Stephen. Thank you. 👍. Dave

    Great Teacher
Stephen Taylor has developed his school of thought to a very high degree through extensive reading on the subjects of practice and the psychology of learning. That study, coupled with his years of teaching his own students has resulted in making him an authority on the subject of teaching drums. More importantly, Stephen gives students tools to teach themselves. This podcast highlights some of his core ideas. To really delve into his knowledge base I highly recommend his course The Art Of Practice. I have taken it and have found it to be the best money I’ve ever spent on study materials.

    Finally
Finally a drumming podcast that gives straight forward, honest answers to real questions from the average person learning drums. Not the usual over the top nonsense that doesn’t do you any good in your real life practice. Stephen does a fantastic job at answering these questions from beginners and novice drummers.

    Wonderful
Stephen is always willing to share his knowledge of music, from teaching the basics of drumming to the music industry, and everything in between. It doesn’t surprise me he’s found yet another way to get the word out. Leslie SDS student

A talented, real, and down to earth musician
I took a course with Stephen years ago, watch his videos, and have spent time talking to him personally. He is a fun, serious, humble musician and human. This is a rare combination in seasoned artists who just want to show how “good” they are. He is a pleasure to know. Nadine

    Fantastic Teacher
I’ve known Stephen on line and have been a student of his(not currently a student). He’s an excellent teacher. Even though he’s on line he doesn’t seem that way. He’s responsive to your questions and really tries to help you work through problems. Great guy

    The Real Deal
I have followed Stephen since he started his online school….actually before then. Anyway, he is the real deal when it comes to teaching and learning the drums. He has explored so many facets of learning and skill acquisition and systematized what he has learned so his students can learn faster and better. Now, it’s all available to you the listener. Stephen is simply the best. This podcast is yet another tool in the tool bag to help you become a better drummer, musician, bandmate, and person.

    Awesome!
Love the enthusiasm! I’ve only been drumming for 2 or 3months (!) but already, Stephen Taylor is my “go to” for answers and advice. So glad to see the added podcast. This first one addressed two of my current questions. Thank you, Stephen!
