Content You Can Put Into Practice
Hallie’s podcast is easy to fit into your busy day and gives you strategies you can put to use with your students today. I like her way of simplifying what students need. As an SLP you come away feeling like, “I’ve got this,” vs feeling like you have one more thing to do.

    So Helpful
Listening to this podcast has felt like a big exhale because it makes me feel less alone. I’m a second year SLP who still feels like I’m flailing around sometimes unsure of what to do, but it’s helpful to know that other people face similar challenges, and that there are solutions. I am work in a middle and high school, so the info for older students is invaluable.

    Great advice!
We all need reminders to take care of ourselves when we feel overwhelmed. This podcast gives some great tips and advice on how to achieve that self-care so we can be better SLP’s, parents and spouses and work through the overwhelm we all feel. Love the simple idea of just sitting in my car to regroup while listening to music rather than instantly running in the house immediately when I get home from work.

It is truly such an easy way to refresh information and to learn new things about best strategies to use in speech language therapy rather than just activities on Pinterest. Amazing! Life-saving!!
You have no idea how many of the blog posts and materials suggestions I have bookmarked on my computer. Her low-prep, laid back personality and philosophy has relieved so much pressure with planning and prepping. It’s made it easier for me leave work at work and be present with my husband. I am learning to let go of the unrealistic perfectionist expectations I place on myself and be more flexible with simpler activities. Some of the episodes are so good I re-listen and take written notes (because I usually listen in the car on the way to work)!! Highly, highly recommend!

    Way to persevere!
I love hearing that you kept on going for what you wanted until you landed there! Good for you. I think some of burnout is caused by not finding the right fit or good working environment. If theres any doubt that's a sign to keep going for what you want! I'm excited to hear more of your ideas and I especially love a 10 min podcast to encourage us on a Monday morning!
