I discovered this podcast about a month ago and have listened to the first 100 episodes it so funny. Up until the orbpocailps they didn’t even know how to play correctly and Egbert the Dragonborn Palladian always uses cure wounds instead of lay on hands. But I have also found my three new favorite songs in this podcast 1) the Liliana love song 2) this is a dungeon crawl 3) Corazon oh Corazon

I’ve watched Outside Xbox for years because I love the way they think. They manage to walk a tightrope of humor, authenticity, and still engaging with the content meaningfully. All of that applies to Oxventure as well! I’d bounced off other shows like Critical Role for feeling too serious, but the playfulness, accessibility, and humor of Oxventure really made me stick around. It also made me see joining a game IRL as possible. They’re a great group, and Johnny is a wonderful DM. Please, check them out! As content providers, I can’t imagine anyone or any channel has provided me with more over such a long time. I’ll always be grateful to this group for that! ❤️

I love all the characters and the players! And as a learning Dungeon Master myself, I absolutely love Johnny’s Dm style, to the point where I’m a mix of my teachers and their style? I’m on Wedding Redemption right now so I’d like to say my thoughts as they are now. I’d hate to play favorites but my favorite characters have to be Corizón DeBallena and Prudence. I just love both of the character’s aesthetics and thoughts. They are funny and the way they interact with my second favorite, Dob, sends my laughs through the roof! You guys are my podcast I listen to to run away from reality and learn from. I’d also like to say my two favorite NPCs are Katie Pearlhead and Rust on the Harbor. (Mostly Rust, I love the fact you can confuse him with two coins) Keep rolling high in Charisma and casting Charm person! I’m 17 now and have lots going on and I come here to really learn D&D and just listen to just amazing stories you create. I have been around since before they had a podcast watching on YouTube and I watched them all, and when podcasts became a thing I watched them all and listened every week! Can’t get enough Oxventure. You all brighten my week so thank you for that.

I really love this podcast, it is absolutely tremendous.

These six amazing folks carry me through both good days and bad with endless giggles. I recommend them to everyone who loves to laugh, plays DnD, or is interested in a different way of playing DnD. These episodes are amazing! Edit: I've been listening to this podcast for a while now, and I still love it. Every week I relisten to at least one of the old episodes because they still make me laugh.

I just got into dnd and this podcast has helped me improve and has shaped my play style. I would highly recommend it! Suggestion: it would be great to have these as published adventures!!

Listen. This is fun. Just, great fun. Smart, witty and at times purely ridiculous. From Johnny and the world they create, to the way each member fully embodies the characters they play. Just wonderful. Also, don’t sleep on Blades in the Dark. Luke is also a phenomenal GM that crafts a world that is compelling, spooky and fun!

I’m very pleased that they’re taking a diversion into their Blades in the Dark game while the Oxventure proper is all caught up and on hiatus. It’s fun to meet the new characters from the same players, Luke is an incredible GM for the series and Johnny gets a chance to shine with their PC. On top of all that I love the scoring for BitD, particularly the Cab Con music from the latest episode. I genuinely get the same kind of chill when the main theme breaks in at the climax as I have from the Star Wars or Avengers themes. You all do amazing work in so many different projects and I’m just glad to be along for the ride.

I started listening to the Oxventurers' adventures about a month ago. This hilarious and entertaining podcast keeps me from road raging during my work commute. I fear the day I'm caught up.

after listening to the Dine Harder episode and hearing someone mention a obscure British children’s show, I had to look it up and see what they were talking about. I have seen the face of death and the face of death is Blobby, I will now only imagine that the Hunger of Hadar spell is opening a portal to Blobby. I have no idea how the children of Great Britain slept in the early 90s knowing that Blobby could be lurking around any corner.

My favorite comfort listen to help time pass at work or long car rides. Love the addition of the intros and outros, giving an extra look inside the Oxventurers thoughts and reasons behind the sweet sweet chaos.

This podcast is great if you are a fan of the show, it gives you a great behind the scenes look, and features some great riffing by the embarrassingly charismatic oxbox crew. If you are inexperienced with the show, I personally would recommend watching the recordings, because as Jane mentioned in an episode of the podcast, there are some great miming/facial expressions that you can’t get with just audio. I’ve been rewatching the episodes with my fiancé, and listening to the intro-outro of the podcast, and it’s been a joy in every way. The fact that characters this well developed and DMing this excellent hasn’t been picked up by a major network defies all logic. Thank you for the years of priceless entertainment!

Binged through to catch up on the Oxventure and love the added insight of the episodes from the crew, is there a reason that bad altitude isn’t on here though?

That’s how long Spotify says I have listened to the oxventure podcast. It’s more than the entire runtime of the show, maybe twice. Not sure what else to say, I just really like it

I started to watch the Oxventure series when it came out for their 2 million subscriber video. Love the characters and stories. It’s great to listen to while I’m working or tidying up around the house.

The entire crew is delightful, they have wonderful chemistry and playoff each other as well as the best improv people I have ever heard. Haha, not like Andy will ever read this review of course.

As a beginner I am loving Johnny and the gangs soft introduction to the concepts of DND. It’s so helpful and I’m LOVING the antics!! Long time subscriber to YouTube channels and now a subscriber to this and mom can’t cook!

Was absolutely thrilled when they began to play this game many years ago, and one of the few bright sparks of the pandemic was the surplus of Oxventures. To my absolute delight, now I can binge some of the finest adventurers to ever grace the tabletop. A wonderful group of players, and Johnny Chiodini can count themselves amongst the great DMs/GMs of this D&D renaissance we find ourselves in.

I wasn’t really very excited into D&D when I found this group on YouTube, but I was hooked on their adventures after just one episode. They’ve inspired me to start a campaign with some friends at vet school, and I am so excited about it. I listen to every episode of the podcast when it comes out, and it is genuinely one of the best parts of my week. Thank you for creating this and sharing it with us all! P.S. - I can confirm that you have taught me to play D&D, so hopefully my new DM is as open minded and lenient as Johnny is.

I am a hardcore dnd nerd(even though I just started playing) and love it and the character are a very interesting mix. Dnd fans should definitely try this out.

The Folks from YouTube channels Outside Xbox & Outside Xtra (along with amazing DM Johnny Chiodini) bring to life some amazing characters and stories. You will enjoy this series if you like the content on the aforementioned YouTube channels, D&D, or funny and often chaotic group storytelling. The adventures and lore these folks have woven together are enduring and always hilarious. Characters and oversized personalities take the main stage, while a cohesive engaging world is built around them. D&D was never a thing I got into when I was younger, but this series has opened up the flood gates to possibilities of less serious, collaborative adventuring.

Love these chaotic characters, especially when Luke/Dob takes charge of the situation without any consultation or discussion of a plan with the others. Classic

I always enjoy the episodes for their normal content, and also the book ends of Jane and her cohost. If you need an episode 100 idea, consider a burlesque Beeples episode.

Andy, Jane, Mike, Ellen, Luke and Johnny are the absolute funniest people I have ever heard, without question. A couple of my friends have even got into D&D and Outside Xbox/Xtra because of the podcasts and the videos. This is my absolute favourite podcast that is still running, and everyone involved deserves every plaudit they’ve received for this and deserves many more. If you like D&D, you’ll like this podcast. If you like Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra, you’ll like this podcast. Even if you like neither of them, and if you just want to hear a podcast that is a bunch of friends palling around, this is the podcast for you.

It’s a critical hit to your brain, it’s a natural 1 for your boredom, it’s the Oxventure Dungeons and Dragons podcast! If you like dungeons, dragons, or video games this may just be the podcast for you, it’s a hilarious series made all the more hilarious with extra commentary before and after the show. If your looking for a short break from the stress of modern life, then I can’t recommend the Oxventure highly enough.

I love this series! I’ve been following oxventure since the first episode on YouTube and having a way to listen to the episodes on the go has been amazing. I listen to them while working each week they come out. One of the best parts is the commentary before and after each episode. Thank you for bringing us this wonderful escape from the daily monotony!

If you're looking for a podcast of intense tactical combat, detailed rules analysis, and angst-ridden role-playing...look, I gotta be honest, this may not be for you. But if you want genuinely delightful characters and NPCs, tons of witty banter, horrible puns, and insane plans that remind you of what the players in your home game get up to - but funnier - you can't go wrong with the Oxventure podcast. These folks are a delight to listen to, and are all genuinely nice people as well. Enjoy!

Nah this show is hilarious. The chemistry is so evident and it really is like hanging out with your older cousins as they show you the game. I love the home-like rules because I honestly don’t care for dnd as a game, but holy Moses are they so funny to listen to. Luke/Dob and Mike/Egbert are amazingly wacky and witty while the Andy, Ellen and Jane propel the story forward. Get ready for puns, funny references, and a whole bunch of in-jokes as these buddies explore the land of Geth. If you want a funny story while working out, on a hike, or at work, tune and you won’t be disappointed. Oh crap and Johnny is a serious mastermind. His accents are hilarious, and his world-building is very vivid. I doubt you’ll find a single review that gives them lower than a 5 star. Get on board!!!

Pleasantly surprised to discover that one of my favorite channels had moved their great (but less portable) YouTube videos to a podcast. Now we just need the Blades in the Dark episodes and all will be complete.

The Oxventure podcast is like the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons: there are simply no bad episodes. You can ear-watch them over and over, and you think “surely I’ll tire of this at some point”. And then you hear something from an adventure you may have forgotten, or something from the intro/outro bits that just sets you off giggling in a room full of people that are confused by your jovial reaction because of course they can’t hear the lovely people in the podcast, and you have noise cancelling headphones and forgot you were in a public place. I have subscriptions for Hulu, Disney+, Netflix, HBO and Amazon Prime. Yet somehow, this podcast that I pay nothing for gives me significantly more return on my investment. I get more joy from the Oxventure than any other program currently going. TLDR: Critical Role bad, Oxventure is good.

Oxventure is a funny, joyful, heart warming and heart burning adventure. This may sound so preachy but, listening to this podcast and the videos really helped me a lot with my anxiety and mental health in general. I listened to them when I worked in the back of a freezer of a restaurant, when I am relaxing, driving to work, working out, and while I go to sleep. I hope one day I can meet the cast, and tell them thank you for giving me that extra positive spirit in my day to keep going. I may or may not be on my 9th? 10th? listen through the podcast after watching all the videos at least 5 times. The Oxventure is just perfect, full of chaos, puns, steamrolling combat, hilariously illogical plans, amazing NPCs, countless shenanigans, and let’s not forget the players and DM and their group dynamic. I love every second of this series, even on my 15th or so rerun.

So. I have a question that I have been wanting to ask for a while. This is a question about where Dobs soul would go after he dies. At the moment he has two places where his soul is bound to go when he dies. The first happened when he pulled the hammer and took over the skeletons. He bound his soul to the hammer and when he dies his soul would go into the hammer forever, right? Then his soul gets bound to that strange cabin in the woods when Vex makes his soul go there when he dies. So what will happen to Dobs soul? Also, I might’ve binged the first 74 episodes in 9 days until I caught up. Why? Why do you do this to me?? Hugs and kisses!

If you want a strict, by-the-books d&d real play, this isn’t the podcast for you. If, however, you want a funny and unabashedly earnest d&d series with horrible puns and absolutely precious characters, then boy howdy are you in the right place. If you’re already familiar with the Oxboxtra youtube channels, then you already know that these people have a wonderful rapport with each other, their comedic timing only bested by their love of outlandish showmanship. And Johnny, bless their poor soul, must have a heart the size of a whale (heh, get it?) with how many shenanigans they (lovingly and helplessly in equal measure, methinks) put up with. I love the extra bits of reflection and commentary that this podcast adds, although I do miss seeing their costumes and physical reactions to bits. My only complaint would be that there’s no animated series with the Oxboxtra gang voicing their characters. Alas, one can’t help but dream… …though for now I’ll make do with leaving a review and hope more people are indoctrinated (uh, introduced!) to this lovely series. I will personally welcome any artists in with open arms, in hopes of satisfying that animated Oxventure series itch. All in all, it’s been such a joy to be able to relive these moments alongside everyone else. Here’s to many more Oxventures to come!

I found this podcast after binging Hitman playthroughs and was coincidentally invited to my first ever dnd campaign within a month of discovering outside Xbox on YouTube. I was so excited to see that there was a whole oxventure world out there for me to explore! I loved that everyone started as a newbie just like me so I could get comfortable with the cadence of a game along with them. I will say that Jonny must be a very forgiving DM because I don’t get away with nearly as many stunts as the oxvenurers and will probably be booted from my campaign for causing mischief. Thank you all for hours of entertainment and enjoyment! Your work is appreciated!
