albeitobviousWHAT WAS THAT ENDINGHello??
-
ZylktasticCrazyStarted pretty cool, catchy and intriguing, but the second season seems sucked and the end couldn’t have been worst.
-
Moiriss8Loved itStarted listening to this show and from episode 1 all the way until the end I couldn’t turn it off. Really enjoyed it.
-
BassoonMuscleTerrible endingI have to confess I never really understood the mentality of reviewers who claim that they “loved” a show until the last episode, only to have the “whole series ruined!!” by the final episode. This final episode helped me to understand that phenomenon. The story was compelling enough to keep listening, but WOW, what a terrible ending. And the main character’s voice was shrill and annoying.

Christina AbdouEhI listened to this whole thing and in the beginning it was promising. But characters we learn about and follow with just disappear randomly, everyone moves away and it doesn’t flow at all. It had potential, but the ending SUCKED. I couldn’t believe how creepy it was. The story could have ended in a much better way. But so many things just happen without an actual explanation or consequence. Frankly, It felt like an unedited first draft. I could have wrote this better 🙄

I stay listenin'Left me dissatisfiedPros: Interesting premise Good acting When the story picks up it gets interesting. Great sound design. Cons: Main character has no redeemable qualities and is hard to empathize with. Main character is unbelievably stupid. The quasi-feminist thing was weird. The writers don't really develop the various themes that they introduce very well. There is no meaningful conversation or investigation. The approach to religion feels one-sided. The ending left me unsatisfied and I felt that it was creepy and not like in a good horror story kind of way. Just my feelings, maybe you'll feel different.

will345dPretty goodThe story is very intriguing and the voice acting and sound design are top notch. My only complaint is that the main character is the worst at times, using the disappearance of her father to justify some crappy behavior.
-
Online DisappointmentGood Listening!Interesting plot, hard to wait for the end. I am also listening to Trap Street and look forward to episodes.

TellUWatMy new favoriteGreat characters and storyline! Love it!

Its MargSeason 1 Was AmazingSeason 1 was extremely captivating and intriguing and I binged it. I wanted to hear just how the story was going to unravel. *** SPOILERS*** Season 2 was a train wreck. The story didn’t seem to follow any sort of direction and the ending was terrible. Season 2 felt like a first draft. Like the whole thing with her having cancer just like suddenly, which was never mentioned in S1. Or how the writers tried to throw in a callback waaay too late in the season—that being the wizard of oz thing. Should have put that in the beginning of the season so you could have played off it, it would have seemed more natural. I was so excited that there was a second season, but half the time it didn’t feel like it was the same show as season one. It was also really clear that this was written by men. The way the women spoke to eachother is really unrealistic. Girls don’t call eachother “princess”. I also thought it strange how all the women characters were like not the best people. Chase really should have had a close girl-friend who she told everything to, or at least her bar tender friend should have been more present. Anyways, season 1 was thrilling. Reminded me of RABBITS, and The Left Right Game. I stayed up past my bedtime listening to shows. The drive to find out what could have possibly happened to her father was such an irresistible story. I had really hoped it was going to be time travel. This is really great as a first podcast. There’s lots of good things and lots of things that need improvement. Good luck!

Sexy beast123333335555NopeNope nope nope. No character is redeemable. It feels like you’re supposed to root for Chase, but it’s impossible. It feels like a freshman in college wrote it. It was interesting in some parts, but by the end, it felt like the writers were pranking me with the pointlessness of the ending. Like as if they were saying “haha congrats on listening to hours of this story, you thought it was gonna go somewhere? HA! Stupid! But don’t worry because the ‘journey is more important than the destination’ lolol”
-
amazed1009Interesting story - along the lines of “coast to coast” w Art BellEvery time I hear their music it sounds like I’m hearing the intro to “Coast to Coast AM” … But the story is interesting. And along the lines of something coast to coast am would discuss

Talks through moviesIt was really interestingI didn’t hate it. It had a lot of interesting elements to it. It kept me guessing and the mystery had me listening all the way to the end. It just got really weird in a way that I don’t know if I liked the journey to the conclusion. The main character was also hard to like. She’s kind of selfish and didn’t really grow or learn through it all. She also seemed to be rewarded for it while treating those around her like crap. It’s a hard one to process how I feel overall.

TealCoffeeMugMystery science fictionReally enjoyed this. No it isn’t perfect, yes it is fiction. Interesting and intriguing. Thank you for making this show. I like it.

FilmLover181Original and Entertaining! This audio drama was a great find. Just listen to the first episode and you'll see what I mean. It plays with podcasting tropes by starting off as one thing and then turning into another. I love when a mystery takes me in unexpected directions. On the production side, the sound design is simple but effective. I hate when you can't hear the actors because there's so much noise in the background. That's not an issue here. And speaking of actors, one of the leads was on Better Call Saul and he's terrific! You should definitely check this one out. It's a quick listen and the ending is a definite ending.

yupyup:)I tried, but I hate itThe stuff with Malcolm is interesting, but I HATE Chase. She is obnoxious, uninteresting, flat, and has no redeeming qualities. I got more than halfway through the first season, but I have to stop. I’m giving it two stars only because it seems like there’s potential for something. (That said, I read spoilers about the rest of the show immediately after I stopped; it looks like I made the right choice in stopping.)
-
OsssssyWasted premiseThe setup was pretty damned interesting (Not gonna spoil in case you listen ) but the plot is kinda plodding, The voice acting is stilted, The exploration of the central mystery is slow and “surfacy” and seems like a waste of a really interesting setup. Around episodes 6-7 I started getting real POD vibes. (For those that don’t know POD was a Christian rock band from the late 90’s early 00’s that hit mainstream success by making pop rock that could easily pass as secular music but hiding Christian messaging inside.) The main character is written as kinda dumb ( and an atheist) I can only guess it’s because she’s supposed to have a come to Jesus moment later in the show. I hope I’m wrong but I also hope this picks up soon or I’m gonna move on.
-
AccesetteGreat story!Lots of twists & turns.

NellieSezFeels like false advertising - religion, not "supernatural"This is definitely not a sci-fi show, much as the writers would like you to think it is. This is a show about religion and faith. And hey, they want to have a religious take on the supernatural, that's fine, just be honest about that up front. They're trying to do this "is it or isn't it" thing, but in the end, the mallet they used to bring the point home is pretty hard, and narratively, pretty disappointing.
-
commonistsenseIt’s fine…Binged both seasons in one afternoon and this podcast is fine. This is far from the worst storycast I’ve listened to, but it’s equally far from the best. The writer doesn’t seem to really know the motivations of the main character, or maybe just doesn’t know how to convey them. Maybe the writer worked backward from the ending they wanted? Regardless, it seemed like they’re trying to justify their faith to themselves rather than be realistic or actually uplifting. Most of the characters are annoying and inconsistent in a believable way. Some of the questions and ideas presented are interesting, but aren’t delved into in an interesting way or by characters you care about at all.

ATVBroAddictive and upliftingCompletely addictive and surprising. Reminded me of the classic experimental broadcaster Joe Frank from KCRW. So much podcast content is dark and depressing, I found this strangely uplifting.
-
la LyonesseDerivative, unrelatable, Christian-biased tripeThis podcast was recommended by the host on the Where Did The Road Go podcast. I won’t be listening to more seasons of this podcast, nor any more podcasts similarly recommended on Where Did The Road Go.
-
mattsmith0622Really enjoyed it. Only one complaint.I have fun listening to this show. Very cool story, and the sound quality was really great. My only issue is the final episode seemed really rushed, and left a few background details up to guessing. But it’s totally worth listening to. I’m sure I will again soon.
-
Elhat88Not sure who to root forThere’s not much for likable characters here, except for maybe the boyfriend. I’m almost Done with season 1, but hoping the main character turns into the villain, in some brilliant twist. Otherwise, why make her so unlikable? Is it the male writer’s perception of a feminist woman that makes her dumb, easily fooled, arrogant, unintuitive, and mean??There’s no aspect of strong female lead here, and that’s why I’m hoping they let her slide fully into the dark side so there is actually an interesting aspect to her entitled character. Disappointing, it’s so hard to find good female protagonists in scifi/fantasy podcasts… if that’s what she’s meant to be. Weird anti-female vibes from this show.
-
phylliebeeWhat a great show!I loved this story. The acting was fantastic. I couldn’t stop listening. Bravo!
-
freakazoid4807Brilliant showA really fun journey with a big payoff. Loved it all
-
HMC(FMF)2004Very good story.Great premise and story. Superb execution and production value. Awesome voice acting. Too bad the main character is written as a petulant, wholly unlikable woman child. It almost ruins the entire experience.
-
Nuggie FreshGreat showAmazing show, the main character is an over bearing B I XXh though. I hate that strong female lead means bitxh now a days.

Me x 7Reviews deletedThird time leaving a review. Podcast was a waste of time with terrible, ridiculous ending.
-
(Walter55)OMG!!!What a twisted ending, I won’t give the spoiler, but man it was a real real twist!
-
RandyMJonesGreat story- not so great endingGreat story. Ending felt a bit a bit rushed No Spoiler here but that ending could’ve been fleshed out a bit more. It was a bit strange and ambiguous. Is still worth a listen Chase is insufferable though
-
Linda1982aSo. Good.Binged it. Could not stop.
-
ChicagoInLAUPDATE - Season 2 even betterI very much enjoyed this entire show. The writing, acting, etc... are all really great. Great twist at the end!
-
CTXYZ2015Almost goodAgreed with the reviewer about Chase - she is insufferable. A terrible interviewer and all around crap person. If the show was all Malcolm I would be all in. The show is also very derivative - they’ve clearly stolen ideas from Fleabag (hot priest), Dark Air, Nvixm documentary, etc. *Truly the worst ending of all time.
-
Lofi Digital Monk🤢🤮What a dumb ending.
-
TruthTeller486Fact or Fiction?I love how this show uses real life incidents and facts as part of the story. There are a few plot points that I assumed were made up and then I went on line and they were REAL. Well done!
-
jeffyweaveSeason 2 is EVEN BETTER!“Intriguing and captivating. Solid casting. Gotta see where this story goes. Can’t wait for the next one!” That was my season 1 review. I’m most of the way through season 2 and it’s even better. The storytelling has advance and improved. The performances are more nuanced. I’m intrigued by the minds of the creators and the world they’ve fashioned.
-
boomer pyookIntriguing mystery!Really good podcast. Keeps you interested with some thought-provoking elements.
-
SaffroniusDisappointing second seasonI loved the first season, but the first 6 episodes of the second season really should have been one episode. It feels like they hurried up to record something and then released it in little bursts. The characters are far less likable in season 2 as well.
-
YumbimAwesome Mystery ShowLooking forward to season 2.
-
Tante143Great Story !I find a lot of Hidden Gems like this one on the LikeWise App. I love Spooky/Supernatural/Horror/Mystery Fiction Podcasts. This fits in there somewhere!! No Spoilers but worth the listen for sure. The story is good and the acting is too. Everyone sounds pretty natural here.
-
BreakfastBulldogThis was greatWell acted, completely engrossing, binged season 1 now hurry up with season 2! Can’t wait to see what happens next

Karen.A.238Main character stereotypeThe support characters are paper dolls because the self absorbed hero requires it. Don’t look for a scrap of feminist strength. Friendless, manipulative, verbally and emotionally abusive. Mom hater. However, this character seems to be common portrayal of girls age 14 to 22 in podcast fiction. Pretty face - ugly spirit. exhausting and distracting. I’m a girl. I drive my own car, have a job, pay my cellphone and rent, do my sports and pub with friends. I knit. Earned a degree. My mom and I like each other. I definitely respect my mom on days I don’t appreciate or like her. I’m not the in fiction podcast, though, am I… Drama and defiance with purpose is fine but the crazy abusive treat your people like paper for your toilet…it’s common and irritating. And dumb. I wish we women weren’t so consistently portrayed this way.
-
AjbudaDon’t get itGreat writing and acting, but I don’t get why they made the protagonist so unlikable. She is very good at showing toxic masculinity. I wonder if she would have as much of a problem calling some one by their identified pronoun, as she did with addressing the Priest as father. I would think disrespecting ng him and insisting on calling him by his first name in front of others would be specially to disrespect him.
-
7JaneWhat an unsympathetic main character.Cons: she treats her boyfriend terribly, treats her mom about as bad, she's impressed by money, and views people only in terms of what they can do for her and her "documentary". Oh and she's making no attempts to improve, either. These aren't tragic flaws. She's comfortable with being terrible. Pros: She... cares about her dad. That's it. Not much here to root for.
-
MorrSett11 episodes of “meh” followed by a crap endingNot worth the time investment. Sorry I can’t get it back…
-
moothezombieAlmost five starsI almost gave the podcast five stars but theres just one glaring problem. The story is interesting and the actors are amazing but the character of Chase is so bad that it sours the rest of the podcast. Just a few episodes in i found myself actively rooting for her to fail due to her attitude and how she treats people. Please do not subject your listeners to another season of this trash character. If you do a second season maybe do a prequel starring Malcolm instead?
-
pghgeekgrl00755Amazing! Can not wait until season 2 comes out!Had to binge listen as this totally sucked my in - loved the actors and the formatting! Great fun!
-
