The Skies we Die Under- beautiful writing-vital subject!
This article has the ability to transport the reader to the place where our eternal Father dwells, clearly delineating the lies we believe due to our blindness to reality. I believed all the nonsense that my good deeds would surely grant me heaven when I died. I was the intellectual that lived on a higher plane than others and would get teary-eyed over a beautiful painting in a museum or nature itself. Then Jesus saved me and immediately showed me how foolish my puny thoughts were. This article go right to the heart of deception itself!

    So good!
In the short amount of time I’ve been listening, I’ve been blessed by each “written in red” Articles by Desiring God. Every article is powerful in Word, articulate, and wise. My favorite so far, and worth sharing, “Why Not Me? The quiet and consuming eye of envy” by Greg Morse, 1/14/24. Such a powerful word exposing the vulnerable heart of man, and the redeeming heart of Jesus—how humility turns envy upside down, and reminds us that our gifts are for His glory, not ours. The poem at the end, on John the Baptist, AMAZING! Thank you!

    Touched my heart deeply
“Stabbed by Joy” by Greg Morse (7/5/23) brought me to tears. He can put into words what my heart is unable to express. Gifted and talented writer… I look forward to every episode of ‘Articles by Desiring God.’

    Articles Podcast
These articles read aloud by the authors are excellent! Sooo good! Great content for everyday listening and spiritual growth! I’d love to also listen to some of your female writers… this would give additional perspectives and experiences! 😉

    Great articles, BORING narration
I have yet to listen to one of these That didn’t have great content, but the authors read them with the most monotone and boring voice I’ve ever heard. It’s like they’re told not to use inflection - it’s so frustrating and hard to listen to please just let the authors read their piece with the enthusiasm I’m sure they felt when they wrote it!!

    Helpful for the visually challenged
What a great blessing this podcast is! As a pastor with a vision disability, this podcast opens new doors of accessibility and “share ability”. Two benefits: 1. Easier access to the articles (more portable). 2. Better comprehension (hearing the author’s voice inflection and emphasis). Thank you for this great tool!

    Wonderful Blessing
Thank you so much for this new method of teaching Gods Word and His Ways. I have always loved to read the Bible. It is a source of joy. But I always had great difficulty staying awake and often “woke up later” not really remembering much of what what I read. At first, I tried various ways to trick myself so I could stay awake. These trucks included never reading more than a paragraph at a time, standing up to read, reading out loud, reading out loud onto a cassette tape and playing it back while I walked. I discovered much later the reason I couldn’t stay awake was because of narcolepsy. I now take medication for this and can usually read for hours at a time. But, nowadays a “new enemy” is at my door; vision. I can barely see the text. I do wear contacts but my vision is still problematic. So I began listening to podcasts about two-three years ago. I admit nothing takes the place of actually reading a text but podcasts are a close second. Truly, Desiring God (John Piper teachings) has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. Please keep it coming. Annette
