BakhtinPaywallsThis used to be a really solid podcast. A bit amateurish - but I mean that in the sense that it didn’t have massive production values and was endearingly honest in its approach. But now? They are paywalling major parts of their content. Major as in reviews for major USMNT games! And this is for a podcast that already has ads! So… I’m out. There are plenty of other soccer pods out there that aren’t trying to grind every penny out of their listener. And I can listen to ALL of their analysis.

barko5844ghdGood for the casual fanGood pod for the casual American soccer fan. If you want a broad overview of the week’s matches and broad analysis of the big clubs (plus some MLS and USMNT) this pod is for you. It was a helpful listen for me when I first started watching the sport regularly. But now I follow my team very closely and find that the analysis isn’t deep enough for what I can get from a club specific pod. Not a slight, just the reality of this pod’s scope. That said, they do tend to discuss the stories surrounding the matches more than they discuss the matches themselves. Would love the talk to be more about the soccer and less about whatever the English media sensationalizes that week. On another note, if you are a Liverpool fan, you’ll probably enjoy the pod. If you are a United, Arsenal, or Chelsea fan, you’ll get annoyed with JJ real quick(they don’t spend a ton of time on smaller clubs). Anytime Liverpool has a bad day, like clockwork, he will bring up some game from the past that went better for Liverpool. It’s kind of weird. Opinions are always far more thought out when it comes to Liverpool than when discussing the other big clubs. One can only hope for a Liverpool relegation fight in the future. This pod would be a glorious listen.

Ryan_1154 stars for Andrew, -2 for JJArsenal fan here, so feel free to take all this with however many grains of salt you find reasonable. Andrew is great, even though he’s a Tottenham fan. He rarely lets that get in the way of objective discussion, and has valuable viewpoints. But JJ - insufferable. If you’re a Liverpool fan, you’ll probably enjoy him. If you’re not, you probably won’t.
-
Bos2CDABest soccer podJJ drives me up the wall sometimes, but his description of Jack Grealish dedicating a goal to his late brother hit me right in the gut. Absolutely brilliant.
-
NYCAnfieldRedlistenableif jj was a chocolate bar he’d eat himself., ok. one is allowed to change one’s mind. does someone in particular drive me up the wall on occasion? yes. would he be good company in the pub? probably. would i drink him under the table? most definitely. pod has grown on me and i’m sure they both sleep easier at night knowing that. maybe it’s my red tinted glasses and the current footballing landscape, but yeah, good pod, and quite different to most others in a good way. keep it up, there is medicine which can help. i also voted for them.

xshartattackxJJ’s Sworn EnemyManchester City fan from Wisconsin, aka JJ’s sworn enemy ;) Love the pod, the plus is even better!
-
which was the style @ the timeThe Liverpool ShowWelcome to Liverpool chat! If you want a show that’s 80% a deep dive into the mind-numbing minutiae of Liverpool and 20% all other soccer teams and topics (analyzed through a lens of how they compare to Liverpool, of course), then this is the show for you! All Liverpool and nothing else makes JJ a dull boy.
-
mizageNot what it once wasMostly a Prem show with some USMNT and a tiny amount of MLS. One host is a proper football man who seems to cringe at any change to the game. The other host would probably be happier doing a Philadelphia Eagles podcast. Not sure why he watches soccer since he states most games are bad.
-
IKEremixBias PoliticsJJ can’t keep his head out of politics. He’s all soccer bud, talk soccer.
-
civil tongueStunnedThe opening for the podcast about the US, losing to Mexico, stunned me in its vulgarity. Or maybe it was an advertisement I don’t know, but I unfollowed immediately.
-
Meatheadereds5 StarsI don’t hate you JJ
-
Sim-sim TimmyHard-on hate for MAN UNITEDJJ especially is blinded by his disdain towards Manchester United. It’s a mixture of pre-solidified dislike and his generic stubbornness that makes him infuriatingly biased.

E-FreezyWonderfulGreat podcast. Appointment listening for any American football fan.

JDR11229Highly Recommend!!American Here. Didn’t grow up following soccer, on the contrary always viewed it as that weird boring sport. That all changed in 2014. Got swept up in World Cup fever, and listening to these guys truly gave me the love of the beautiful game to this day. Clear and humble analysis, Andy and JJ are as authentic as they come. Whether you have been following soccer for awhile or are looking to learn, give this pod a try!
-
MarcuuspoloIf You Can Get Past JJ Belittling You on X 😂I've been listening to Caught Offside since 2018, and it's one of my favorite podcasts. Andrew and JJ provide great insights on soccer, covering the USMNT, Barclays Premier League, and more. Their fun banter and strong community engagement make each episode a joy. Just a heads-up: JJ can belittle people on X for having different views, especially political. While this doesn’t affect the podcast itself, it can be off-putting. Despite this, the podcast remains fantastic and highly recommended for any soccer fan. I always look forward to the PODs
-
Mike W 87My absolute favorite soccer podcastLove listening to Andrew and JJ. Always provide balanced reviews of USMNT performances, keep me up to date on EPL happenings, while always touching on various European leagues and international tournaments. It’s not just informative but enjoyable banter.

Kfrench10All encompassing soccer podI love the banter between the boys. This pod is a lovely blend of friendly fodder and statistics/analyses. I’m starting following other soccer leagues because of this podcast. I also appreciate how they include the women’s game as well. Highly recommended for all your soccer needs.
-
notBBDUsed to be perfect, still goodUsed to love this show and wouldn't miss one since the first year it started. Over time, the hosts have been flanderized and it's personally tough to listen to not being a Liverpool supporter. Will definitely still listen to some US and other coverage from time to time and definitely appreciate you boys and how you helped me love the sport even more.
-
Art VanDLMy favorite podcast!Love this podcast—found it two years ago and have listened to every episode since. Andrew and JJ’s love and enthusiasm for the game has actually driven me to be an even bigger fan of football around the world. They provide insightful analysis for the game and do it in an accessible and entertaining way. Listening to them makes me feel like I’m with close friends discussing sports. Thank you both for all you do. Always looking forward to the next episode.
-
Loduca16I never leave reviewsAndrew is really good. JJ is downright miserable and often can ruin an entire podcast just to be a grumpy contrarian. The last straw was how disrespectful he is to Andrew, by purposely spoiling games and not just saying sorry I won’t do it again.
-
NorCalStickyIckyIDKThis is pretty much the watch along with Mark Goldbridge of football pods
-
Patch CrawfordLiverpool/Tottenham Perspective PodcastI have listened to this podcast for eight years or so, and I can say that there have been a lot of good pods that have provided me with a different perspective. However, recently I have become jaded with their bias.
-
Bevo0191I’m glad I found you!I love this show! It is the perfect combination of insight and banter. I am so glad I no longer have to wade through other mediocre podcasts each week looking for yours! I wish you the best of luck!

BroncofanhjhBest Pod!!I have been listening to JJ and Andrew for the last 6 years. It is now the only podcast I listen to religiously. I have an hour commute each way to work and I love the long podcasts, they help me get through my drive. Keep making great content!
-
NeedsToChangeGreat EPL & USMNT contentStarted listening a few years ago when some of the World Cup qualifiers were at my hometown and haven’t stopped since. These guys are super passionate and fun. I didn’t watch much EPL before listening but I watch it a good bit now. I usually listen on the way to class and is a great way to start the day. Highly recommend.

gg5934Show was better when it was a fun soccer podcastAs opposed to a bad political one. Used to look forward to the show, now I struggle to get through many episodes.
-
ZdravnikJJ and Andrew are my drug of choiceI’m always looking for good football/soccer material to listen to, however, a decade ago there was a dearth of palatable American podcasts to choose from in this vein. Finding Caught Offside—just a few months old at the time—was a pleasant surprise. JJ and Andrew are great and easy to listen to, and this has become my favorite football podcast. Keep up the great work guys!
-
Serg1006BEST FOOTBALL PODCASTSuch an amazing football podcast! Andrew and JJ are the perfect pair! Hilarious, great takes/banter and know exactly how to keep you hooked the whole time. Been an animal for 4 years now and will continue to always be.

timesniffYour Dream Soccer PodcastAndrew and JJ have the best soccer podcast out there. They focus on EPL, but cover the big stories across the entire soccer universe. Their deep dive section “In the Club” is one of my favorite recurring features. The guests they get are well versed and offer fantastic information. They’re great friends but get into some fantastically entertaining disagreements. Together they produce some hilarious moments. Dive in to this podcast and then join the animals on their Reddit. CaughtOffside is the the best soccer community their is.
-
KB 5StripesBest Soccer PodcastI consume soccer in every media format, and by and large, this is the best and most entertaining podcast. The recent 2hr show after JJ’s baby (congrats) flew by and left me wanting it to go on for another 2hrs. Keep up the great work.

averydemarrFutbol Emporium UtopiaWhat I want in a futbol (soccer) podcast: 1) Not over produced (aka ‘broken’ mics but still recording) 2) Real time response to key events (aka Emergency Pods) 3) Family friendly (aka my futbol playing boys can listen and laugh with me 14-11yo) 4) A consumer review of futbol (aka not tactic on tactic) 5) Enjoyable consistency (aka the humor and puns you expect but in a good way) Thanks guys!
