please add more info in episode notes
hi, just listened to Radiance of the King episode. Frank Wynn references a number of authors, which i was able to find. it'd be great if you provided this information in the episode notes for other listeners / readers. also, Mr. Wynn seems like an incredibly thoughtful and erudite person. it would be great to have either a follow up interview, or list of books he would recommend from the greater Francophone world.

    Dig into this!
I’ve been a casual fan of NYRB Classics for years. It’s a great way to find something substantial and literary to read apart from the usual canonical Western writers. There’s also a lot of range - there are cookbooks, travel books, and poetry. I also love the iconic design and the cover art. A friend who’s also a fan told me about this podcast. I don’t listen to many podcasts, but this one has me hooked. Dylan and Kassia are excited about the books they review, and they bring a lot of insight to the discussions. I’ve just started listening and I want them to weigh in on the unread NYRB Classics that are sitting in my TBR pile! I highly recommend this podcast if you’re interested in classic literature.

    a perfect balance
I think this podcast does something truly magical. Kassia and Dylan do a great job of navigating you through the NYRB classics series, without expecting either too much or too little of you. I think it’s hard to appreciate how they have made a podcast that is not only accessible but interesting to big readers and not-so-big readers. The guests bring something wonderful to each episode too! I think the early judgmental reviews could certainly stand to be reevaluated at the very least. This podcast is just getting better and better with time.

    NYRB best publisher ever.
Therefore my favorite podcast! Thanks for this.

    Enthusiastic and Approachable
Dylan and Kassia are lovable, giddy, and down-to-earth hosts. As someone who doesn't read much and is intimidated by a lot of classics, their discussions always remind me of the joy and discovery in great literature. Their grounded vibe also compliments frequent guests whose relationships to the books are often extremely deep and insightful, but whose academic nature would probably be overwhelming without such hosts.

A fun time was had by all
Kassia and Dylan clearly love spending time with one another and with these books. Their enthusiasm is infectious and makes me want to dig into parts of the NYRB catalog that are totally foreign to me.

    Meh
I’ll be honest. I expected something more polished and knowledgeable—which I expect to hear in anything sponsored by the NYRB—than what I got. I cannot tell you how much I dislike listening to what sound like high school kids. Their grammar is terrible; they really don’t have much of a grasp of what’s being discussed; and if I hear “disrespecting” one more time out of people who are supposed to be readers, I’m gonna scream. Immediately unfollowing this. Not worth my time in the least. Get grownups who know how to speak and maybe I’ll be back.

    Amateur hour
Where did the New York review find these two giggling teenagers? Amateur hour. This podcast will scare off readers. Get professionals or don’t have a podcast.

    Practice is good
The pervasive chuckling sounds like nervousness rather than pleasure so am sure the hosts will relax into a flow at some point. Practice is always a good thing.

    Fair Start
The hosts are quite personable and enthusiastic about discussing the book in question. It’s just the first show so hard to say how it will evolve, but it was a little rough around the edges. At one point Kassia had to remind Dylan that he wanted to read an excerpt. So, there was no flow, but I’m assuming it’ll get better as it goes along. They at least made me want to seek out High Wind In Jamaica and give it a read. Not fond of the spoilers section, but they give you a chance to skip it, which I did.
