Steph has written a story with scenes that are short enough to hold a listener’s attention but packed with well-written details and descriptions that allows the listener to fully visualize the scene. Things move along at a nice clip, but not too fast - not at the expense of well developed characters. Particularly among the main protagonists, none are cartoonish. It’s a realistic and relatable ensemble cast. Steve handles the narration like a pro, not doing too much acting, but adding in a bit of authentic-sounding Russian dialogue or Russian accented English - just enough…not too much. I sure hope Steph is working on her next book. I would hate to think Reverse Tell is a one-and-done production of NNN.

Appreciable descriptions throughout the episodes. Thoroughly enjoyed the visits to the restaurants and Kara’s description of potatoes. You can feel the environment in the writing (and narration). Pretty sure Aunt Svety’s sister was our tour guide in St. Petersburg. This is an excellent depiction of our anonymous American heroes.

I have previously struggled to stay engaged with podcasts, but NNN makes it easy! The story is gripping, making it effortlessly to stay focused. (Sometimes too focused, and I lose track of where I am supposed to be going!) Mr. Hall’s voice is amazing, perfect for the material. I look forward to each episode being dropped and wish it could happen more frequently. Thank you for the best podcast!

Love the story and writing. So descriptive I can close my eyes and imagine it all! Fascinating glimpse into this world as told by those who know and lived it! Can’t share it enough!!
