Trap Street

An unemployed gamer has received a mysterious email with two attachments. The first is an image of a woman with red hair and green eyes. The second is an old map of a town called Ocean Bay. What this young man does next will determine the fate of the entire human race. (From the creators of Strange Air.)

    Doesn’t hold up
Season one was great. Season two, when the villain is introduced, is a disaster

    Amazing

Not much show, but what they give you is great!
I LOVE fictional podcasts while I work and clean at home. A good story is great while my body is on autopilot, and this is an excellent story. The episodes are SO SHORT tho. I get they have to make money, but the episodes are only 20 or so minutes long and 25 percent of that is ads😒It’s disappointing and hardly worth a 2 week wait in between episodes. The content is good enough that I’d pay for a Patreon subscription with longer episodes if they had one.

    Seconding peachy poo review
Except I think the acting is subpar as well. There’s these unnatural pauses where it sounds like they’re doing their first read of the script & some of the responses are so cringey 😅 the premise & idea is good, execution could be a bit better!

I’m new so ya but I’m exited to listen to it

Love the story & audio but ..
Great storyline and production is on point. It’s easy to listen to, like reading a really good fiction novel, you could get lost in it.. except the downside. I know creators need $ but there are commercials are every few minutes and the episodes are already short which makes them about 35% commercials and credits are another 15%. So the episodes are only as half as long as it shows, story wise. These really interrupt the story and is a deterrent, for me. Upsides are they do have audio storytelling right. Which is why the interruptions in such small episodes is such an issue. I love that they don’t lean into a narrator, great sound effects and these allow your imagination to fill it in thus really pull you in. The plot moves along at a solid pace and it’s well stitched together. It’s great, I really like it. I just fine listen to the radio or watch tv because the nonstop interruptions are so distracting it ruins them.

    Love the Show…
…but dislike all the music. Wish episodes were longer. Thanks for all your work!
  • From What Is World
    Love it!!
The music is jarring sometimes, but other than that, I love this podcast. It’s an acquired taste, but it’s funny and cringy in all the best ways. Definitely worth the listen!!

    Fun, Witty, Good Bindge
This is a great show. I binged it in a day! Josh is witty and lovable. Looking forward to see what happens. Keep it up. And Thanks

    Nothing really happens
The first season was okay but nothing really happens until the cliffhanger finale. Then, I get maybe two episodes into the second season and it feels like the stakes are gone again so I gave up. Good voice acting at least. Oh, and what the heck is with the music? Is it supposed to cut the tension?

    Rookie Effort (At Best)
Weak characters, poor dialogue, faulty logic — and more — mean Trap Street is raw and undeveloped.

    Such a good find!!
Stumbled upon this podcast because it came out in my main page and I am obsessed. It’s so good!!! Highly recommend.

The music doesn’t work w/ the story.
All I can say if I had a friend like the main character (total loser) I wouldn’t be friends anymore. Talk about a man-child. No wonder why successful single women have turned into lesbians. This story is conceived and written by men so maybe they don’t realize what babies they’ve become. The one positive thing I can add is the voice acting is decent, except for the main character who I just want to shake and say dude, man up.

Story is Good. Delivery can be Polarizing.
The story behind this is fascinating enough where I burned through all the episodes to see what would happen next. Although, some of the dialogue feels like it’s out of place, which I’m assuming is because of recording separately. I’d say: give it a few episodes to see if the story is intriguing enough to look past some of the delivery.

    What a FUN mystery!
A mystery with humor about maps? Sounds good to me! This podcast is so much fun. The voice acting is great and the sound mix is simple but good. I also love that the episodes are short (15-25) minutes. They're just the right length for my drive to work. Thumbs up!

    Updated review!!
I really like the episodes up until the last one of the first season, which I felt like was just confusing and unrelated to everything that happened so far (update: the first episode of season 2 has redeemed the show to me)

    Really enjoying
I’m really enjoying this podcast. Binged all of season one in one afternoon. Glad to see it’s back for season 2.
  • pleasestayopen
    Nice
I can’t wait until season 2 however; I did not like the last episode. It felt rushed, the pace of the episode changed dramatically. Josh is a moron. But I’m going to listen to season two to see what happens.

    I like it!
    I’m excited for season 2!!!

    I couldn’t finish it
I got through to the last episode and I just couldn’t finish it. Josh is a moron. Plot holes, the music interlude, writing… Regardless, it was engaging and not without merit. You can decide for yourself. I hope the creators keep at it.

    Interesting
Enjoying the story line though I think it could be condensed into longer episodes. The most jarring part is the music between sections - the surf rock really doesn’t make sense in any context here and really pulls you out of the world.

Can hardly wait for season 2
Fun and unique story, one that you can’t wait til the next ep drops. I would like longer episodes please! I get settled in to listen then poof it’s over and I have to wait for the next drop.

    Has potential
Story’s good and intriguing. Writing’s alright. Dialogue is ok to a point. But, the acting can be cringy, the music in between scenes doesn’t match the tone of what’s going on. Not mention that what happens in this first season could be fit into one or two episodes. Hope season two improves the show.

Is ok but has potential to be better
It’s an intriguing show, but the last episode of this season just left me confused? The show has short episodes but somehow each episode dragged on but then all of a sudden the last episode was rushed and and even shorter. The advertisements got longer. I feel like I really only had 10 minutes of actually listening to the episode. The show is simple, almost podcast like, but still easy to listen to. Overall, it’s good? I think?

Love it, want to slap the protagonist
After 3 episodes I really can’t stop listening to this but I also can’t count the number of times i wanted to scream “you idiot!” as the main character made one stupid decision after another as he stumbles through his life and this story. Many great tales have unlikeable or stupid characters and this is one.

    The show is cool but…
It’s a decent show but the episodes keeps getting shorter and the ads are getting longer.
  • jacobluntz
    Im sorry
The 1 star is generous. That was a total waste of time. Where are the sound effects? It was so boring. You’re telling me they couldn’t just skip straight to what happened in the finale in the first few episodes? That would have been interesting. Strange air was a million times better.
  • Thoughts99
    Middling
The general storyline is interesting but the story telling and acting is simplistic.
  • gpmr1988
Promising but too short, especially the latest episode
The latest episode was barely an episode. Under 20 minutes and felt rushed. For a show that releases episodes twice a month that doesn’t feel satisfying. The story is promising, I hope it goes somewhere, lots of clues, but does this map lead anywhere?

Intro and Outro Music are Terrible
Enjoying the story so far, 4 episodes in. But the music is terrible and really takes you out of the world they are building.
  • Resalovestimetravalfiction
    Only episode 1
Only listened to one episode so I might change my rating later. The quality is decent and story interesting enough. I don’t understand the ending music. Reminds me of Batman?

    Okay, I’m hooked!
Another twisty, intriguing mystery from the creators of “Strange Air” with another terrific cast of voice actors. Love the sci-fi twists — can’t wait to see where this goes!

I loved this but wonder if it won’t continue? That happens to a lot of shows I like.
