All depends on the quality of the guest. If the guest is good, Marc is good. Far too often some obscure actor or actress Marc worked with is booked and so goes the podcast. Too many boring guests have killed this podcast. Used to be a must listen, now I just occasionally check it. All things fade...

Marc definitely earned his "stripes" over the years and it culminated in an absolutely terrific conversation with Al Pacino. Not an interview, no fan gushing, but 2 bright, intelligent men discussing a life that had many ups and many downs. I've never heard Mr. Pacino so relaxed and truly engaged and seemed to really enjoy being present in the moment with Marc. Bravo!

Couldn’t listen to the Chris Robinson chat. It’s typical Marc going “yeah yeah yeah” talking all over his guest who is actually more interesting than Marc. Hey Marc, try being quiet for 10 seconds!

Ever get to talk about her book? I know she tried to a few times. I gave up.

Never thought I’d see someone more narcissistic than Trump, but Maron is it. Jeez, what a terrible interviewer. Ask the guest a good question then LET THEM TALK and stop pulling the conversation back to yourself. I have subscribed to this podcast for years, but the deterioration is accelerating. Sometimes I wonder how can someone be so open? I think most people can benefit by learning to be open and caring.

The tre ep was a return to classic mark. Tre could barley get a word in edgewise mark. Mark, compelled to drive home how little he knows or cares about the guest. He must impress upon them how rooted in legitimacy his lack of awareness is. And the whole time a good natured Tre is just pleasant and easygoing. Of course it’s impossible for mark to just say “ for most of my life my tastes were dictated by what is cool, and you and DMB were not/are lot cool” But I do love and respect mark.

Thanks for having Trey on Marc. I’m one of those fanatics who’ve been on the Phish bus since 95 and that was by far the best interview I’ve heard him give.

I started listening with the BMFS episode and have been listening ever since. Your interview with Trey is exceptional. Although you're not a “Phish guy,” I felt like you really hit the mark with your questions. It was like listening to two old friends have a conversation. I hope you go to a Phish show, it’s a magical experience.

I loved Marc’s talk with Stavros. Such an easy and funny conversation. Stavros is one of the funniest young comics right now. So honest and quick witted.

I gave it a try but didn’t last long. Marc is insufferable. Not a great actor, his musical skills are nonexistent, and he has too much ego to be a good interviewer. It takes talent to be a good listener. He lacks that talent too.

How is a professional person incapable of speaking a sentence without it being dosed with 1-4 “like”. I’ve heard arguments for this word’s abuse. That’s weird. It’s just unlistenable. Go manage a lighthouse and leave the speaking with other humans game to anyone else. Also, you really pretty funny if a person could tolerate hearing you verbalize.

The conversation is easy & open, & he asks all the right questions without being mean or invasive. I want him to interview me but I have nothing to report lol

Best episode ever!!!! So much interesting information!

I had to stop at “this guy strangles the dog. (chuckle)”, a German shepherd. “took him off in a police car” (joke). I won’t listen to normalized abuse of animals even here.

Maron is on the ambition over talent Mount Rushmore with Rogan Trump and Kim. Horrible interviewer with no ability to listen and ask interesting follow up questions. Just waits for his turn to say “yeah man!” and puke out something tangentially related about himself. On an Amy Schumer ep she was about to tell a story about getting arrested with her cousin who is Chuck Schumer’s kid, and Marc side tracked and the story never got told. There are people who actually deserve to have access to these interviewees and wouldn’t waste their time. And his guitar playing may be worse than his acting.

Been patiently waiting for the day when Larry David made it to the garage. It did not disappoint. Thank you, Marc and Larry!
