    S13 E17 Strada Bianche 2025!
Strada Bianche 2025! This was a beautiful episode. The three hosts were lovely to listen to. No fluff, no unnecessary up-man-ship just knowledgeable adults having a wonderful conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. 10/10! 💯/ 💯! Thank you Lionel, Rob & Brian!

    Lionel
Daniel did a great job solo and with special guests, but it’s so great hearing Lionel regularly so far in 2025

    Unbalanced commentary
I feel like Friebe needs to speak about 30% less and allow his co-commentators to engage more fully in the conversations. Given the great roster of journalists and pundits that appear on the show it is sometimes frustrating when it feels like Friebe is having an extended conversation with himself. When that happens, it limits the potential of the podcast which is really to be found in the dialogue BETWEEN all the guests.

    TCPF - well done!
Rose does an amazing job! And so does Denny. The commentator that joined them on 9/20/24 (or whenever that episode came out) was also great. In short, Rose and the crew are doing an incredible job. Well done. Thank you.

    Simply the best!
I love the way that The Cycling Podcast creates a captivating story and brings the listener into the race. Since finding you last year, I haven’t missed a Grand Tour. I love your style of commentary and the personal stories that you interweave into your show. Thanks for giving us such quality and entertaining content.

Best Podcast for Cycling Culture and Racing
Brings the panache of European cycling to the US. Also gives insight into local culture. Great. Listening to La Vuelta now. Fran is just awesome partnering with Daniel. He brings knowledge of Spain in such a fun and informative way. Another reason the cycling podcast stands out to me is its use of interviews with riders. They tell the story of the race through the riders words much more than some other cycling focused podcasts. It’s clear Daniel loves the places he visits as well as the racing. By blending these I feel like I get to go to Italy for the giro, France for the tour and Spain for the Vuelta every year. While I miss Richard, Daniel has kept the spirit of the podcast and guests like Fran add immensely to it.

    Fun Listen
A great supplement to the broadcasts!! Excellent insight and some interviews with the greater and not so famous members of the Peloton.

    A Great Time
Having recently gotten into cycling, I was looking for a podcast to provide some insight on the tour. This podcast and its amicable hosts did just that, providing a rundown of each stage’s happenings with good-faith analysis, humor, and friendliness. I’ll be back for next year’s Tour, heck, I might have to tune in for the Vuelta. Chapeau, Jungs.

    Chapeau - TdF 2024
Well done, Graham, Mitch and Richard - you’ve meshed well and are delivering a fresh daily perspective on the Tour, whilst staying true to the roots of the pod. Would be great to hear a montage of Richard Moore’s favorite TdF moments.

    What happened
We went from a great podcast that had all kinds of cultural and historical information that contextualized cycling—to one that sounds like every other sports commentary—sad changes to the podcast.

    Fantastico
I like the word play and metaphors used often to describe the events gong on in cycling. The intelligence sometimes conveyed by all involved is appreciated, especially from a bunch of fellow alcoholics.... Thanks! Chiro is way too Nationalist, and rarely says anything of substance, no? Ah, but maybe he speaks for the sands of time.... . Lionel has an excellent robot voice! I miss Lionel being at the Giro. Send Italy your old Super 8 cameras! Queen stage? More like Queens of the Stone Age Stage.... Chiro you should be ashamed of your country. I am so saddened and sorry for the passing of Richard Moore. My condolences. He is and will be greatly missed. It’s funny to hear Friebe call someone else snobby….

The best of professional road cycling podcasts
Long time listener. Consistently the most informative about the world of professional road cycling (with a smattering of cyclocross, indoor track racing, etc.). In its current format with Danial Friebe and his weekly collection of friends and colleagues offers thoughtful analysis and interesting interviews. Great listen.

Stop prattling on with the climate change talk on a cycling podcast
You guys have become unlistenable. Almost every one of your podcasts has climate change discussions … cycling podcast should revolve around cycling… If I want climate change content I would go to the weather channel or AccuWeather, or some other outlet… I don’t go to them for cycling content , if you guys truly cared about the climate you wouldn’t travel around covering races, or use electricity to make your podcasts. Thank God there are other cycling podcasts out there. I don’t think I’ll be listening to this one anymore.

    It’s clear what happened
I love you guys (Friend of the podcast) but this tour was not about what happened to Poggi, it’s about Jonas being better. Poggi is the best rider in the world but not at this. TJV, with Jonas at the helm, is just better at grand tours in the heat and at altitude. It looks to the outsider that the fact that Jonas isn’t flashy and TJV isn’t press friendly is impacting your coverage.
  • Klylynn
LANCE ARMSTRONG won 7 Tours. Period.
Today’s episode — “Ignoring the seven years that have been taken off the record” PLEASE!! You cannot any of this analysis seriously if you’re literally ignoring those 7 wins. Just stop, enough already. While still mentioning plenty of other riders at that time, as if none of them were doing the exact same thing. It’s all so hypocritical and ridiculous. Let’s move on and grow up.

    great pod
but please, dear god, don’t make us deal with brian nygaard for another grand tour. he rambles without purpose until daniel has reinvigorate the show with actual interesting content

    Best cycling podcast around?
Wouldn't miss an episode. Giro pods are always a highlight for me. Love that the actual racing is the side show

    What’s not to love?
You would have to be a troglodyte to not find something entertaining and rewarding from this podcast. I love that they know so much about things that I know so little of. I feel like I’m learning and laughing at the same time. The personalities and the teasing and the joking, balance out with the information, culture and the geographical knowledge.

Guys you do a Great Job. I always look forward to the next show. The guest you bring to us are so interesting and the experience in cycling that you have to share brings such a depth to the love of the sport for me. Thank you for continuing to bring your cycling tales and adventures to us. Ken

    Fantastic
What a great podcast! I started listening several years ago when doing a lot of daily travel. and have been an avid listener since. The range of topics, the people brought in as special guests as well and the recurring guests add so much. The team never take themselves too seriously, injecting some fun and liveliness into every episode. The banter between the team is part of the magic, don’t stop. I miss Richard dearly, as I’m sure many other long term regular listeners do, however the rest of the team continue to do a fantastic job. I’m sure Richard would be proud. If you’re into cycling and haven’t yet given this Podcast a try, do yourself a favor and download a couple of episodes today.

    Too much woke politics
There great until they start their liberal political propaganda, Richard would reel some of this in. Not a episode goes by without some political theater, that’s when I turn them off! I’ll put on CNN if I want hear that kind of stuff.

Love the pod, especially any segment or episode with Mitch Docker. He brings such warmth and familiarity to his interviews.

    Wonderful podcast
I have been listening to The Cycling Podcast’s coverage of Le Tour for many years but hadn’t heard of Richard Moore’s passing until I googled him to find out why he wasn’t hosting this year’s podcast. So, so sad. I loved his banter, his wit and his smooth accent. And now Francois is semi-retiring too. It’s almost too much to bear. I’m a recreational cyclist but a sports enthusiast. Anyone like me will love this show. Lionel, please, don’t even think about retiring.

    Bravo Ladies & Gentlemen!
I have been very informed and entertained with the Tour this year. Thank you so much for the content not just on the race, but the local flavor of the region and the culture. Where is Lionel? Hope he is well. Maybe he will be back when the circus comes to Paris. Loving Ian’s and Rose’s contribution of late. Bravo AWL! Todd in SWFL

    Lo-key podcast for TDF insights
First off, I’m a huge fan of Mitch and his podcast but even he cannot raise the bar on the content and organization of this podcast. It could be improved by finding a quiet place to record rather than a bar/restaurant, and preparing their content. If you like off the cuff responses/reaction to the daily stage events then you might be satisfied but it doesn’t come close to The Move. Once you get over the flavor of Lance like you’ve swallowed your gastric juices, the insights and banter between Johan, Lance, and George make this podcast seem amateurish.

    Heartbroken over Richard
I am so sad over this news- I never knew him but once I wrote him about his book and he wrote me back and I mailed him some of my art. What a great man- I loved his voice and his meter. He was a great man and I had a man crush on him for his tales. I can’t believe this news.

Days of past remind me of the future to come
I can appreciate how people before the internet and tv gathered around the radio to share an experience. As a child I wondered how radio could be enjoyed with out the all important visual stimuli. But, all podcast listeners know how the power of words and audio can capture the reality of the situation even more profoundly than video. That’s what I get from The Cycling Podcast. Of course us Americans got our Tour coverage with Phil , Paul(RIP), and Bob. But the polish of a major network trying to make cycling palatable to a non cyclist became even more glaring once you immersed yourself into the friendly banter of Lionel, Daniel, and the late Richard Moore. While I write this review as a kind of eulogy to a “friend” I never met, Richard Moore’s legacy continues to be one of the things in life I look forward to in my life. I have access to all the luxuries in life from food, drink, security, a loving family. The Cycling Podcast feels like more of a luxury than ever before. I will miss hearing Richard Moore buffalo through the conversation and keep me entertained while discussing the days break or drama in the peleton. But I also look forward to the immensely talented new voices carry on the conversation of this wonderful sport of cycling.

    Godspeed Richard Moore

    Really enjoy the banter
The hosts have a great, regular person commentary, insight, with a perfect balance of information and snark. A1

Great Podcast Spoiled by extraneous “shows”
This my go to cycling podcast however their extraneous efforts (life in the peloton, femine, service course etc) really pollute the feed. Service course is barely about tech , the cycling podcast femine editions feel forced , and Mitch docker was great on his own but now the interviews seem repetitive. A truly technical discussion from service course would be welcomed. Separate feeds for each show would be welcome.

    A travelogue surrounded by cycling
This podcast has a way of taking cycling and translating the beauty that we as fans love about it and sending it through the audio. Combine that with fantastic access and coverage of racing and you have an absolute must-listen for any cycling fan.

    Easily the best cycling podcast
Most informative, most charming, most experienced, widest perspective cycling podcast out there. The only essential podcast about pro cycling. Love the regular guests during Vuelta and Tour. Mitch Docker, Chiero, Kate Wagner, François and the rest add great color to the proceedings.
  • Craig P
    Great except for one person
I’m sorry but the more Kate is involved, the less I enjoy the episode. Her mic is louder than the others and she shout-talks in a no-pause amped up barrage that is grating to me. It is a shame because the show has quality insight and content otherwise.

    The joy of cycling (podcast)
This show has quickly joined my shortlist for cycling coverage. The combination of knowledge, wit and collegiality makes every episode fun and fresh. Kate Wagner has been an incredible guest host. Looking forward to Mitch Docker next. Chapeau!

    Superb
Great podcast! And I sure hope Kate Wagner will remain a key contributor. Her cycling writing and commentary is superb - as great as it gets, which is saying something because there has been some great writing and commentary over the decades. Kate’s writing goes beyond the writing of my dear friend, the great Sam Abt -but then, Sam was somewhat shackled by the ignorance of the readership during his time. He had to spend a lot of column inches explaining stuff like, you know, drafting, and domestiques. Since Sam retired we Americans have needed a correspondent with such keen insight. Kate has it in spades and the freedom of her blog format allows her superb literary voice to take flight, much to our delight. The cycling podcast is an all-star team! I’m a loyal listener.
