    Magnificent Find!
This is the best travel podcast that I have ever found for France. I listen while driving, cleaning, cooking etc. I have started at the beginning and I am listening mostly in order because I am planning a trip to Paris and Nice this October with my teenage son. Thank you for all the content you are providing! Hopefully I will be able to be a patron soon.

    Essential for French Travel!
As a French teacher and Francophile, I can’t recommend this podcast enough! You’ll learn all the cultural and logistical tidbits you need to make the most out of your next trip. I particularly loved the 2025 logistics tips!

    A great podcast
Bonjour! I haven't traveled lately, and listening to Annie and Elise has been absolutely amazing. Always learning something. I have been to France twice; your podcast allows me to recapture some of the places I visited. Merci beaucoup!

    Exceptional content
I have been wanting more detailed information about France because I’m considering retiring there- most podcasts are just about Paris. These ladies cover places throughout the country. I do appreciate all of the information and can’t wait to go to France and explore. I would love more shows about the north west part of France as well as have a guest to discuss brocantes (I know that’s not your thing) but I would love to know about them. Thank you

    Ads blasting my ears
Partway through episode 517, an ad came on at a dangerously high volume. I had to rip my earbuds out of my hears. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

    Glad
I just found this podcast while planning a trip to France with my young-adult daughters. We are focusing on Brittany and Normandy with a few nights in Paris, and it has already been an invaluable resource in traveling strategies for the 12 days that we are going to be there. Looking forward to listening more!

Absolutely the best of its kind! The information is valuable and France is a fascinating country. Thank you for hours of entertainment and knowledge!

    Bonjour and Merci!
The best advice and archive of all things France; culture, travel advice, and just life. I really appreciate what content comes along with the Patron membership, and Annie was so helpful in assisting with my families itinerary last year. This spring when I am in Paris, I am looking forward to trying one of her listening tours. Merci Annie!

    Good content, weird vibes
I love France, and wanted to try out a new podcast before an upcoming trip. I think this show has good content, but the host often says rude things, and at one point went on an uncomfortable rant about how Patreon members should pay, and she wants your MONEY. I found it so odd and unprofessional to say this to listeners. Every other podcast is kind about how they articulate how you can support them on Patreon, should you chose to do so. Oh, and the episode I’m listening to has ads that she’s getting paid off of unlike other podcasts I listen to who are more patreon-dependent…so you’re welcome for listening :)

    Excellent Content for Itinerary Planning
I’ve been listening for years but came here today because the recent episode on the Luberon was excellent. Having traveled there in the last year I had context and thought the information on parking, market days, moving about from village to village was spot on plus I learned things I wish I had known then (which is kind of the point). I added Oppède le Vieux to my next time list. Another favorite episode was the one on Saint Ouen flea market.

    Top Choice for every francophile
Annie has worked tirelessly on making this show one of the most accessible and interesting podcasts available to francophiles all over the world. I tune in weekly to hear Annie chat with guests, notably Elyse Rivin, about everything from travel to culture to history. This is my number 1 recommended podcast for friends, family, and acquaintances looking for more information about France. Merci, Annie!

    J’aime beaucoup la musique!
J’aime votre podcast beaucoup merci. J’aime enormement la musique aussi. Merci de bien vouloir nous dire d’ou vien la musique et les noms. And I am an enormous Francophile, I lived in Paris for eight years and have returned to France twice a year for my work for the past 30 years. I am a travel photographer.I love your podcast very much. It is intelligent and deeply thought out.I also really really like the music you use. Can you let us know what the music is please? Especially the piece at the end of the episode on D’Artagnan…

    Rookie Mistakes
Recently completed listening to “Rookie Mistakes”. Was a very informative & helpful! Very grateful for the information for our first trip! I would like to say in response to last “mistake” just like it would be very rude & sweeping statement to say French people are rude, to say you’ve lived in a country as large as America, & say Americans as a people are selfish and not helpful is a very sweeping statement as well. Would be very curious to know where you have lived in America? Although, must give a disclaimer….I do live in a small town & people in any small town tend to be more open & friendly, as a group;)

    I love Annie!
Annie is a gem. The world needs more people like her. She has so much passion and she clearly loves what she does. I’m preparing for my first trip to Paris and of all the podcasts out there, this one continues to be the most helpful as I find episode after episode that inspires me, helps me plan and gets me excited for what we’ll experience in France. Annie, I see how hard you work and it is very appreciated! ❤️

    Useless
I’m a Francophile and am so disappointed in this show. The intro before each interview is long and boring and the interviews are tedious.

    My favorite podcast on France!
I love all things France, and I devour anything I can on the subject, this Podcast is wonderful. I love how informative it is. I have been there many times and will continue to be a regular listener of this.

    Great podcast!
What a great show about France! I found it by chance when I was looking up things about Lourdes after reading about St. Bernadette. Not only was that episode informative and entertaining but, I looked around and started listening to a few other episodes- and now I’m hooked! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to take my family on a trip there, but this podcast is so interesting anyway.

    A joy to listen!
Annie and Elyse - thank you! My family booked a somewhat last minute trip to Paris this December. Having never been, I was looking for cultural insight, tips and recommendations for exploring Paris. Discovering this podcast has been an absolute delight - I’ve binged all the episodes! I’m already planning a second trip based on Annie and Elyse’s helpful suggestions. Clearly, one trip to France is not enough. You’ve earned a new fan :)

    Absolute must-listen!!!
Annie and Elise, I simply cannot thank you both enough for this podcast! I’ve studied French for over a decade, taught it at the college level for years, and spent several long stays in France, but it can still be intimidating to plan a vacation there, especially when you’re bringing along family and friends who have never experienced France before. I found this podcast while planning a trip with my partner and my parents. My dad had never been to Europe at all before, and my mom and partner had been before, but it had been a long time (18 years in my mom’s case). So I really wanted to plan something spectacular for them all. And this podcast became an extraordinarily helpful resource for me! I listened to dozens of the episodes nonstop for weeks leading up to the trip. Because of it, I felt so much more comfortable in so many ways. I had never even considered taking a taxi into Paris from CDG on my other trips, opting instead for the RER, but my mom’s mobility issues mean that lugging lots of bags through busy public transport was going to be even more difficult than it was when it was just me on my own. Taxis were the absolute perfect solution! We took them both to and from the airport as well as to and from the Gare de l’Est when we went on our excursion to Strasbourg. I just can’t tell you how helpful it was to know about those taxis for us! As I listened to the episodes, I also got tons and tons of insight on what is happening in France right now, how French people feel about all kinds of interactions that are likely to happen during a vacation there, and I also (perhaps most importantly) was able to add bunches of monuments, museums, and activities that I had never even done before on my many other trips to France. It made this trip into something truly, truly special for all four of us. I’ll be telling everyone I know who loves France to binge this podcast just like I did because it is a huge game changer. Annie et Elise, je vous remercie encore pour ce podcast. C’est vraiment vous qui avez rendu notre petit séjour en France si inoubliable. C’est beaucoup apprécié !

    Awesome podcast
Annie runs a super service for anyone interested in learning about France. It’s so very enjoyable not only for armchair travelers interested in the cultural insights but also for all the great tips and recommendations for how to get the most out of any travel experience in France.

Wonderful host, interesting topics, useful information
Anticipating our first trip to France we wanted background on places we will visit on our tour. I cannot overstate how happy we are with Join Us in France. Annie is a delightful personality. The information about sites we will visit (eg, Lescaux) provides good history as well as helpful guidance for the tourist. The podcasts about French culture and food are a lot of fun. With over 400 episodes there a lots that grabbed our interest and some (travelling in France with a baby) that we can skip. But I bet even those episodes are fun to listen to.

I’m a patreon also, and I must say the podcasts have become kind of repetitive. But…so is life.

    BRIEF history of TDF indeed
About 15 min total dedicated to TDF info. Rest of the time devoted to inconsequential conversations with colleague or promoting her own travel service.

    Wealth of information
My wife and I are planning to travel in France and always want to learn as much as we can about wherever we are going to travel before we go. Annie and Elise are a great resource for a wealth of information about France. They are definitely helping us not bug our French friend with too many annoying questions! They also provide a lot of great travel tips that are not exclusive to France.

    Until I return to France.
I love being able to listen in every week, learn more about France, add more places to my "list" and learn about what's happening in France now. This podcast has really matured over time, and the content is always relevent... never once have I decided to skip an episode (like a few other podcasts I listen to). I love the hour long format! That's about the time of my daily walk. Like other have said I feel like Annie and Elyse are good friends and we all get together to chat about France.

    My Weekly Trip to France
This podcast is like a trip to France every week. Annie and Elise share their experiences and honest impressions of everything from tourism, history, food, you name it. I actually think I’m becoming French and can’t wait for my next visit. I will surely re-listen to many of the pods with travel and attraction tips. And Annie makes this so easy with ways to search and index. Thanks so much for the pod. My husband and I are hoping to book a tour with Elise on our next trip.

Look forward each week to Join Us in France!
I was lucky enough to travel to France three times in the late 1970’s when I was young and single. I would love to take my daughter there now, but it’s so hard to get two weeks to do it now. Still planning and trying to decide - so many options! But I love listening to recent travelers’ stories! ❤️
