Jlansdown06Long Time Coming (phrasing)As an OG listener, I’m dumbfounded as to how there isn’t a consensus 5 star ranking here. In a jungle of disingenuous money grab podcasting, Matt and Scad are a shining light of joyous sincerity greatly lacking in this medium. I’ll listen to every episode you all put out. Read the phone book if you want. Na zdraví!

OniPondThese guys give me lifeI stumbled upon this podcast. I was a late bloomer and trying to find my way into a group of people who would let me obsessively talk about books. They invited me to ASOM and I have formed some amazing friendships. Davis Fingers should be getting a lot of credit in this fandom. They have brought SO MANY nerds together. ♥️♥️♥️ they brought me to my nerd family. Forever grateful and will never leave these guys.

KippycapLove the original 3!I am rereading ASOIAF and found this podcast to follow along. Found this so fun and entertaining as someone who does not watch the show or read any of the theories/fandom online. I just read the books and enjoy them as is. Once a Brooke left I had a hard time staying engaged I was so sad! The dynamic changed and I missed her perspective and personality. :( Matt and Scad are still cool to listen to, but feels like a different show.

joffillPerfect Read-Along PodcastI’m halfway through DWD in my first read through of ASOIAF, and I’ve been listening to Davos’ Fingers all along the way. I can’t say enough good things about the podcast. They help my understanding and appreciation of the books, and I will definitely listen again to the Davos after Dark sections once I finish the books. If you’ve been looking for a ASOIAF podcast to listen to while you read look no further.

Sweet MelisiaGood StuffSo on a scale of The Phantom Menance to Empire, they are definitely Empire! I love the new format they have started where they bring in members of their Kahlasar to guest host. What a great way to incorporate their patrons. I love the way it just sounds like old friends sitting down and talking through the night. I appreciate that they chat about other things and bring in real life expiriences to the podcast. I found this podcast late, but so glad I did!

Laboziac6364Love but...I absolutely love you guys, but your guest on the latest episode is ridiculously annoying, trying WAY too hard to be ‘funny’, even if she is the only one laughing. Such a disappointment, i don’t know how you guys managed to eek out 3 hours of content dealing with this chick. Oh woah she cusses and makes mean jokes about her kids radical she’s such a live wire! Ugh please fellas I can’t even listen to this episode, don’t have her on again she truly is unbearable. I’m sorry it took this for me to finally write a review 😑 5 stars for Davis Fingers, negative 5 stars for her

Patty2347Wanted to like itListened to a few episodes all the way through but after ep 107 I won’t listen anymore. The intro was over 30 min. which I didn’t love. The guest they had on kept calling Bran dumb in a really mean spirited way. He’s literally only 8 in the book. The other hosts didn’t seem bothered by it.
-
heeraaaFavorite asoiaf podcastY’all are my favorite podcast and I’ve listened twice over while I read the books twice as well! When the books are done and all our questions are answered, I hope you continue this podcast! Maybe even do the Witcher or name in the wind? Love y’all

AjuetsherenowGrows on youI wasn’t a huge fan at first but this pod has really grown on me. Brooke’s feminist zeal dies down after awhile, and I definitely miss her on the show now. The musical intros are really hit or miss IMO, ranging from mute-worthy (Arya, Cat) to downright catchy (Jon), and at this point I’d rather have them than not. I also tend to skip through the occasional long tangents of moral pontificating prevalent in the Feast/Dance episodes. Quality show though all told.

kwdentA Fantastic PodcastMatt and Scad do something that is really intriguing to me. They’re very relaxed as they work through chapters, having a nice chat with their best buddy about a story they share a passion for. In this way, the podcast is easy to listen to (even therapeutic). However, they also provide top notch analysis even in a very relaxed setting. Most importantly, both are fantastic fathers and kind people who have brought a tremendous amount of joy to The Fandom.

GucciWalletsThe best re-read podcast for ASOIAFDavos Fingers is so easy to get into because Matt and Scaddy approach the books like typical readers. They’re not coming into each episode with a pre-planned script (if you want that Radio Westeros is phenomenal), but instead they’re just discussing what they read. They have differing views and I feel like this show goes hand in hand with anyone who’s doing a re-read or just wants to revisit one of the best fantasy series ever written.
-
draculateethEhPlease stop with the musical introductions, they’re awful.

LinseaHowardBlood of my bloodJust like a book club with my nerdiest, raunchiest friends. I was reading ASOIAF for the first time and always loved it, but this podcast is what really launched my obsession and deeper journey into the fandom. I’ve been following along with Scad and Matt for about 3 years now and DF became the artistic and comic relief my life during a very stressful time. Thanks for always keeping it real, boys.
-
jazixusThanks for the great discussions!I started a re-read of the series as the HBO show wraps up and have again marveled at the level of detail in the books, which is not always communicated well in the show. I’ve looked for a podcast that intelligently discusses the books and relishes the lore in a way that you can’t get with a discussion of just the show, and Davos’ Fingers really nails this in all regards. I love the chemistry between the hosts, their intelligent approach to the material, and the nice production values of the podcast. I’m late in discovering the show, but wanted to say thanks for all of your time and effort, as it’s really enhancing my re-read!
-
KittyknightLove itI love this podcast. I teased my family about watching the show (I called it "Game of Boobs) but then after my son (age 20) read all of the books (that I gave him for Christmas) and raved about them I tentatively gave the books a try. I've read them three times and geek out way more than anyone else in the family. I love that this is like a book club for ASOIAF! I do miss Brook, though. :(
-
Stannis is KingGreat pod!I listen to the pod at work and it’s like having friends in my ear! They have a great sense of humor and pretty good taste in movies. (sans Kevin Smith) Can’t wait for the Dunk and Egg episodes!

adamG__34Enjoyed the re read of the entire ASoIaFThanks Scott, Matt, and Brooke I ended up bingeing the pod during my second read of the series, so I fully got to go on the re read with you guys, and I really enjoyed it. Matt, I fully relate to your taste in music so the music references were so refreshing! (I grew up on billy Joel and DMB) These three do a great job of summarizing the chapters and Scott brings his acting out on occasions for some good excerpts here and there. Davos after dark is legendary and no doubt was the best part of the show and especially on my first re read, it was awesome to reflect and put lost pieces of the puzzle back together with you three. I also really liked how Matt and Scott are so different and balance each other so well in discussion. Five stars, book club feel, in your ears, whenever you choose. PS Jamie’s Jingle for the win Adam
-
konabearcoconutBit racistTried to listen but there were some weird/negative comments and impersonations in terms of black culture. Ignored the first few but then it was just...awkward/offensive.
-
Suzym0f0Great podDoing a re read and loving following along with these crazy funny weirdos

PelliccioAn ASOIAF podcast for all.A review fours year past due. The boys at Davos Fingers bring you Westeros with deep analysis balanced with both authenticity and warmth. A podcast that is perfect both for the first-time listener, wishing to remain insulated from spoilers, and for the veteran on a reread. Matt and Scad’s approach to the series is perfect through your ear buds, the car radio on your commute or your iPhone, elbow deep in a sink full of dishes. The podcast weaves together ASOIAF with modern pop culture, music, and Matt’s own talented musical creations dedicated to the series’ characters which span many genres. If you start episode 1 now, perhaps we will all experience the Winds of Winter together by the time you reach the end. But don’t tune out now as the they are close to finishing A Dance with Dragons, because the boys will be back in the fall with a whole new adventure.
-
NBTramelBarthareon. You guys are amazing; though I do miss Brooke(sp?) a lot. I’ve just officially caught up on your episodes and now that it’s over(for two or weeks I guess), I......don’t know....how to move forward... please end help.

Free_JillyThe Podcast That Mounts The WorldNot sure why people felt it necessary to hate on Brooke. I thought she was a great member of the podcast and miss her as I’m sure most fans do. Been listening almost since the beginning and I’m always floored by their analysis and attention to detail. I really like hearing Matt and Scad personify the characters and share their opinions on them. I also appreciate how in touch they are with the fandom, and just how kind they are overall.
-
hateful binchdisappointing after a fair shotlistened to 8 shows. the little musical intros are a massive turn off. just unbearable. brooke is the only one with anything intelligent to contribute and should stand up for herself more, or better yet, ditch these blow hard co hosts and make her own podcast. onward in my search for a quality read along show
-
Rucky DigitalToo bad.I have listened to every episode. It started off really fun and strong. Especially when Brooke was there. It was one of my favorite ice and fire pods for sure. They felt like outsiders and not caught up in the wannabe “Gatekeeper” self love that afflicts this community so badly. They just seemed like three friends sharing love for the series. Brooke left and the quality stayed but then they started to be more involved with and constantly reference some of the worst people in the fandom. It’s just too bad. They love musical references so, I will compare them to some band who was rad and fresh but then got more popular, lost a key member, continued on, go on a major label, got a fancy producer and lost what made them unique. That all said.. I have listened to every episode and will continue to listen. I don’t regret my time spent but I do find myself fast forwarding some of the intros because of all the love for the folks, I think are toxic to the fandom.

BartsutraNo Taxi for me.These guys are hilarious, insightful, and share their joy of ASoIaF. It’s worth every minute.

ab123sdPotential to be greatThis show has potential to be great: the hosts are intelligent, well spoken (besides the pronouciations), and funny. What stops me from listening, however, is when Brooke incessantly injects her views on how the books are anti-feminist. I think everyone understands that these books are crude and unfair to its characters. It's part of the storytelling.
-
Agreen1490Great PodcastI’ve read the books twice and wanted to do another re read but was too lazy to read them myself and don’t want to spend that much for an audio book so this podcast is great. I love hearing the chapter summary and their takes on the chapters. It’s a great substitute for what would otherwise be a really long re read. I like that they don’t really talk about the show and it is spoiler free which is a huge plus for people reading for the first time. Basically, this podcast is awesome and I’ve been recommending it to all my friends that are in the same boat as me. Wish I was reading for the first time with them, but again, I’m lazy. I’ve been basically binge listening since I’ve started. Keep up the great work, guys! Love it!

Sithmac17Awesome Podcast!!!!Just found this podcast with your The Last Jedi review. I love it immensely! In four days I've listened to 28 episodes!!! (At 2x speed). You guys have great chemistry and summarize the books great! Love it!
-
Dan3HLove these guysWhether you are a first time reader or a seasoned veteran on his/her 8th reread, these guys do a great job of covering the ins and outs of this great series.

IkeinLAA Solid Book Podcast, Greatly ImprovedI only recently started following this podcast but have quickly become current in a matter of weeks. It starts out a little rough, with one of the co-hosts’ presentation skills severely lacking (mispronunciations of common English words, butchering of character names, and the frequently out of place advancement of a feminist viewpoint that frankly demeans both feminism and the fictional works of GRRM). I’ll be honest, I loathed that host for the majority of the podcasts. But even she got better, and despite her recurring foibles, I grew to like her. She has since departed the podcast, and I hate to admit that I miss her a bit— I rarely agreed with her, but she had a wonderful rapport with the other two hosts and the banter is what makes this podcast a worthwhile venture. Matt and Scaddy still manage to run an excellent show without her, and I urge you to follow them!

giddyquagmireBorderline GreatBeen listening to this podcast while rereading the books, and for the most part this has been a great companion to listen along with after reading each handful of chapters. The insight and conversation regarding the characters and events that are the focus of each chapter is generally of a high quality--reflecting the knowledge and preparation of the hosts. However, one of the hosts--Brooke--just cannot help but use the show to broadcast her personal political beliefs and how those don't align with the social norms that exist in a fictional universe. She is certainly entitled to hold her opinions, but my interjecting them into each episode becomes quite frustrating, annoying, and it really detracts from the overall product/experience of listening. I'm only about 1/4 of the way though the episodes currently available, and am really hoping there is some change in the cast or what is discussed my certain members. If you are a fan of the books and the show, and are able to look past Brooke's numerous repeated mispronunciations and rants about there unfairness of the social norms and how awful GRRM is, this is actually very worth the listen!

My Nickname Has Been Taken!Great PodcastI really look forward to this podcast. They have such great chemistry and I really like the friendly tone they set. A really enjoyable way to get in depth ASOIAF analysis.

Eddide deanAmazingEveryone on this podcast is awesome. I've read a lot of books and I'd like to see more chapter by chapter summary podcasts. But I don't like many of them because of the way the podcast is run. This is fun, but sticks to a strict guideline of reading and plot analysis. I'm really happy I found this podcast. Please don't stop anytime soon. I've read all five books twice but I'm only on episode 4 with this podcast. Looking forward to catching up!

RikNikWid1243It's a Dinger with Davis FingersThe best ANALysis of the greatest book series ever written. Spoiler-free, yessiree, just sit and listen and enjoy the podcasts like me!
-
lucastargaryenReviewLove the dynamic of these two hosts. They raise interesting questions and have researched answers or give their educated opinion/guess. The music is also catchy!
-
Giselda A.Fun ListenAlthough I'm not reading along with Scad and Matt (and Brooke, previously), I like listening to the recaps of the chapters--as a reminder to myself--and especially enjoy the Davos After Dark segments at the end of each episode. I like the casual atmosphere they have, indicating they're friends and are having fun creating the podcast. The jingles are cute.
-
BobbieMDInnovative and fun.Just discovered these guys and I'm so glad I did. You won't regret listening!
-
Gusta535I Scaddy'd the Cab DriverDavos After Dark = Great Fun. The chemistry of the three hosts makes for an easy and enjoyable listen. The music Matt writes for each POV character is great, clearly written by a true fan. Hodor

SerJB the LittleFrom bottom to top and awesome castAfter finishing off going from episode 1-52, I can say I found this podcast top notch. It's interesting and fun listening to ASOIAF and hearing your thoughts and theories from you guys. From all the fun inside jokes, and catchy jingles, to lively discussions and light hearted arguements(IMO) it's great. Keep up the good work Scad, Matt, and Brooke, and I look forward to beginning AFWD with all of you. Also, to answer a question asked in episode 50, by my count, the last time,Matt called Scad, Scott, was episode 42 to start a chapter summary.

JendryBarthareonEthosGave up on itHas potential, but couldn't make it past episode six. 2/3 of the hosts are good. The 1/3 claims to have reread the books, yet mispronounces many names, which is fine, but barthareon? Sygil? Not to mention the lack of knowledge concerning basic information and theories in the world that your podcast is about. Even worse is the attitude and disgust she has because the author of the books made the fantasy series realistic in the setting he wanted by including sexist characters. Misogyny because Syrio calls Arya a boy? Really? Oh and calling George's writing "cheap" because he describes and gives background about characters she hasn't met yet in the story. Maybe this series is too complicated for her if she can't comprehend and retain any of the information in these books. The other two hosts, you guys are awesome in your analysis, but you need to drop the dead weight, or work on the way she presents herself on the podcast. Maybe it improves later on, but I'm sorry, it annoyed me way too much to continue.

EmelylylyReading from the very beginningAnd these podcasts are very helpful in understanding the narrative and keeping track of characters, especially when english isn’t my first language. Thank you!!!

Jane2520Old Friends of 1.5 Years, kindaThis podcast is a staple for me. Every third Monday I get to laugh with my three old friends that I've never actually met. The Fingers are very different but come together well the way good friends (or perhaps even hands) do. On top of that, they talk about a book series I love, A Song of Ice and Fire. The podcast is unpretentious and casual in the very best sense. I'd suggest it for anyone tackling the books on the first read or tenth. They frequently disagree on interpretation and I find myself siding with various Fingers often. I love when Brooke gets tickled or disgusted, or when Scad gets indignant. Matt's musical interludes are so great as well as his willingness to lend his own experiences to a character in the story (really, his story about coming home from a mission trip compared to a character's voyage to the Iron Islands is great). Hanging out with them is so fun, I'm willing to ignore the fact that not ONE of them is a Prince fan! Try them out of you haven't. Cool people.
-
wizlawdMy favorite ASOIAF podcastThere's so much content in this series and it's easy to miss some great information. These guys make sure you don't miss a thing. My only beef is that they criticize GRRM for anti-feministic goings on in the story. It may seem like a cop out but it's the characters speaking, not GRRM. This story is extremely realistic and if women weren't treated this way, it wouldn't be realistic. It's so sad but unfortunately true. What's really great is when certain female characters rise above their social stigma and do what they want to do. This is a minor criticism even though it fills most of my review. I still love the podcast, keep up the good work. Oh and I appreciate the occasional hockey reference.
-
Professional2739really love it EXCEPTdavos fingers is great. I've enjoyed listening to it on long car rides - especially the DAD portion. the hosts explain each fan theory for us non-experts and I really appreciate that! I also love how unapologetically they nerd out over this book series. my ONLY gripe is that when they cut to song clips the volume is significantly louder than the rest of the podcast. it often startles me and I can't turn down my headphone or car volume in time. other than that, keep doing what you're doing, guys!
-
MkolpGreat podcastWonderful job on picking these books apart. It's great that the focus is the books not the show. Hosts are fun to listen to.
-
Srugg91Awesome!Love these guys! Very thorough and pleasantly funny. Can't recommend this enough.

BryndenBFishContinues to be the best chapter-by-chapter podcast in existenceI wrote my first review of this podcast a year ago and have continued listening to it since then. If anything the podcast has improved even more. Pay no mind to the negative reviews. Here's what separates this podcast from its peers: Brooke, Matt and Scad analyze chapters in a detailed yet lighthearted manner. These fine folks are friends, and it shines in the analysis. Imagine sitting around a campfire talking ASOIAF, and that's what you have here: fun. Davos After Dark continues to be a highlight, and the attention the Podcasters pay to future books and character arcs makes their chapter analyses that much more enjoyable. Anyways, they're great and bring so much to the table. Brooke, Matt and Scad are delights, and I urge everyone to give them a listen! - BryndenBFish

Lady fatassredBest game of thrones podcastThese three friends are hysterical, you instantly want to hang out with them. Best reread out there better than game of owns. Very intelligent insight into the chapters. Only downfall is they only record every 3 weeks we need more.
-
woolymamjethRelished RereadThis is the best ASOIAF read through podcast around. The hosts are fun and they make great use of song snippets and pop culture references. Also a show free zone.
