    Best Travel Podcast Ever!
I travel frequently and I love to search for Lore episodes about the place Iā€™m going to give it a spooky feeling, learn some history, and have great stories to tell! Really glad I subscribed. Hi, Aaron!

    Amazing!
Such an amazing podcast! I love the detail you go into, and how it ties to modern day. I started to listen over a year ago when I was recommended it. This got me into the supernatural genre. I love the episode unboxed about Robert the doll. I watched the Sam and Colby video about it and they go very well together. Keep up the great work!

    ads too much

Premium subscriber but still have ads??
Fix this please. Episodes 244, 245 and several others have commercials in them when I paid to hand them removed. Love the show but ads are obnoxious.

    Too woke
I still listen to it because I love the content, but every other comment is about how bad the white man is! People just arenā€™t interested in negativity like that. Maybe have a separate political podcast where you just bash white people!

    Political Interjections
I really like your show except when you throw in personal political interjections. If you want to do politics do another show. Jabs at Jefferson for not being a champion of people other than white people is ridiculous. Read The Declaration of Independence and youā€™ll see one of the reasons why he told the king we were succeeding from England is because of slavery.

Once Great Poscast has Sold Out . . .
Episodes are hidden behind a paywall now and the ads are incessant. Joe Rogan sells ads without interrupting episodes. Read them before or after, but please stop ruining episodes with ads that ruin the flow. Had to unsubscribe, hopefully theyā€™ll fix it and Iā€™ll come back.

    Americaā€™ Favorite Past-timeā€¦
Seriouslyā€¦the added comment about Americaā€™s favorite past-time being ā€œdiscriminationā€ was pretty lame. Iā€™m sure that got you some approving nods from the folks around you but, it was nothing but a random virtue signal in the 17 Nov episode. You could plug in so many other countries and groups that trying to make it seem like an American owned issue just seemed forced. We get that you canā€™t do a podcast like this without being square on the left. For those of us who come here to avoid the constant added in left or right comments, leave it out next time.

    Itā€™s okay
I think this podcast is pretty good but the sellout is ridiculous. Every other episode being exclusive pay for membership only is just awful and really ruins the flow of the podcast. Also the friggin 3 minute long ads just ruin it. I love hearing about the stuff that gets covered in this and I think I would definitely become a subscriber if these issues were fixed. Thank you Aaron for all the hard work you put into this and I hope that the show can grow and become better over time

    Awsome
I read a book about a Sasquatch and my dad said that I should try this podcast. And I LOVE it, just maybe make more episodes you can listen to without the subscription. šŸ’Æ

    A Neurodivergent Personā€™s Best Friend
Interesting, visualizable, clear and organized. I love this podcast, because Aaron makes it very easy to understand and maintain focus on the subject at hand. With its descriptive passages, itā€™s also very easy to visualize what he is saying in oneā€™s head. There are many times when Iā€™d much rather listen to Lore than watch television for that reason. Honestly, I regret the face that I canā€™t wipe my memory to listen to all of the episodes over again. With all that being said, the nature of this podcast is very inviting to my fellow neurodivergent people and more. I think of these episodes as a mini brain vacation that also allow me to focus on my tasks at hand. 100% recommend if you are looking for a podcast that is equal parts entertaining and methodical.

    Adds even after subscribing.
Hi Aaron, Love this show and listen to it most every night during sleep and hobbies time. I can not stand commercials and pay not to have them there are still commercials and even worse they are the fakest spots that change tone and volume of the channel. Itā€™s gotten to the point I am going to have to stop subscribing. Do you have a plan to fix this or is it going to continue?

    History, folklore, ambience
I have been a fan since 2017. I loved the depth and breadth of research, whimsy mixed with gravitas. Aaron (hi!) can tell me a story anytime. PS All the Grim & Mild shows are excellent.

    Love it1
Love it! My favorite podcast for fall- the vibes are spooky and great for a cool, dark morning or evening. The background music from Chad is a great touch to building the ambience- it is very easy to get caught up in the story! (Hi Aaron!)

    Clever and very entertaining
I started listening to Lore from a recommendation by my oldest daughter. She said it was always interesting. I have really enjoyed listening to all the different podcasts that Iā€™ve been able to listen to. I have enjoyed each and everyone of them and I highly recommend them.
  • Maria doesnā€™t care
    You sold out.
Why do I have to pay a monthly rate to be able to listen to a 15 min episode and 10 min of it are commercials? Or why is the latest episode 5 min? 3 min of commercials and adds then 2 minutes explaining what to listen to from your old stuff and remastered stuff thatā€™s the same thing. What happened to Lore? Thanks but no thanks.

Iā€™ve been listening since 2015!!!! Always love it always scared this guy never misses

I miss the old vocal cadence
Please slow way down with your reading/ storytelling. Way too fast paced and even upbeat for this spooky type of genre. The first season your voice and timing sounded nice and pleasant to listen/sleep to. Now I somewhat enjoy it if I slow down the podcast speed, but itā€™s still not the same. Please slow down!!

    A classic!
This is one of the most important podcasts as it chartered new territory and really showed fans of history and the macabre just how great a podcast can be. Aaron Mahnke is one of the OG greats of excellent podcasting and I am so glad that not only has he continued to make Lore episodes, but that heā€™s also ventured out into new work. Keep up the great work, sir!

Absolutely wonderful research, story telling, and growth as a host! I recommend this one to anyone and everyone.

    Something about it
There is something about the layout/cadence of the show that just makes it hard to follow to me. Everything feels like an intro and not the main part of the show.
  • Unanimous1284
    Variety needed
While think this show is great, donā€™t get me wrong, I think this podcast lacks variety that other podcasts have. Itā€™s constant players are fear, grief, and superstition. The topics are almost always the same, and it gets real boring. Great for people who like dark gritty stuff, but not for me.

    All episodes paid only?
For over 2 weeks I have not been able to download or listen to any episodes. It always gives an error. Even after a week, Iā€™m still unable to check recent past shows. This is the only podcast Iā€™m having this problem with.
  • St. Punisher
One of the best podcasts out there.
Integrity. Thatā€™s the word that continues to come to mind when I think about Lore and all the other work Aaron Mahnke and the incredible team at Grim and Mild does in the world. Lore isnā€™t just a great podcast with great storytelling. It provides the humble, clear eyed, and honest picture of history, religion, and culture that the world needs far more of than it does today. As I listen, I often catch myself thinking ā€œif we all just collectively took this curious and honest approach to history, we would be able to approach the issues we have today with far more intentionality and understanding.ā€ Thatā€™s why I think integrity is the best way to describe this podcast. Integrity is how it is made in every detail and if we are really listening, integrity is what it helps us to strive for in our view of history and each other. Because of all this, it really is one of the best podcasts out there.

    Good but
They have very loud / jarring noises starting each episode and really ruin the show especially if I am listening as I try to fall asleep.

    Deeper Lore
Love the show. Always have. I wanted to write this review to express my gratitude for your hard work. I appreciate the addition of Deeper Lore. Itā€™s a way to keep the show running for the whole week. Even though Iā€™ve heard many of the episodes before, itā€™s neat to listen with a new perspective. Itā€™s a good way to make use of your catalog. I wish that youā€™d give more exact information in the episodesā€™ descriptions. Like, in the trains episode, the ep info doesnā€™t even mention what the show is about. Thanks too for the limited commercial breaks. Great show! Keep up the good work Aaron!

    Amazing
Iā€™ve been listening to Lore ever since the tv show came out and I'm addicted and obsessed. Aaron has a wonderful voice and I genuinely look forward to Lore and Cabinet of Curiosities every time they drop. This is my sunny spot in my day every day and I am a fan for life. Your podcast provide a little bit of break from the world and I adore you for it

    Lazy 2
Iā€™m a fan of Lore, and I realize that material starts to repeat. I can listen to that any time. What I cannot stand is these stinking ā€œDeeper Loreā€ episodes that are literally just an advertisement to listen to past episodes, that are still packed with commercials. Why!?! People either listened to it, or they donā€™t care enough to go back. Quit wasting our time just to get revenue.

    Change For the Worse
I have been listening to this podcast for many years. Earlier this year I gave up on it, but I recently tried to revisit it, hoping that I was mistaken in my original reasons for leaving. Unfortunately, I was not wrong. It was indeed a mistake to return. The commercial additions, the hard sell to submit to the pay-wall, and the apparent change in intended audience have all caused this show to lose what once made it great. Lore was best when it was a single writer covering topics he enjoyed on his own, with his own voice, and with an intended audience of folklore and strange history fans. The addition of researchers and other writers has only diminished the quality of this show. With their arrival came a shift in focus toward social commentary and, in my opinion, an excessive use of political undertones. If these incredibly unnecessary people were to be removed from Lore it's possible that all of the commercials wouldn't be needed, as I'm sure the increased ad money is being used to fund this deplorable staff. My advice would be to get back to basics and respect the original audience. Lore is too small to pull a Hollywood move like abandoning its audience to force-feed listeners a myopic, anti-intellectual, and ignorant series of prescribed messages instead of just entertaining people through the sharing of folklore, tales of past strangeness, and unusual historical events. Roll it back. Until this happens, I'm out.

    Hi
Lore is absolutely my favorite podcast out of many, and the only one I listen to without skipping an episode. I started when just 14 episodes had been released, and have enjoyed listening to the progression in the episodes and following podcasts from Grim and Mild. I still get excited many years later to get a new episode routinely! Aaron has a great calming voice while covering sometimes very intense dark subjects, and he has become part of my bedtime routine (working shift work and sleeping at odd hours, generally listening right before sleep). I love the historical depth, and get my creep fixā€¦..Thank you, Aaron, for producing many tremendous shows, but especially Lore.
