unclejamoLove the show, but…Hey Sean: good stuff, but go easy on the smugness- no need to be too cute. Otherwise, keep up the good work, dude…
-
Nunya BeazIt’s Today! Please don’t change the format of the show, Today Explained is great! I’m sure explain it to me is whatever but it’s got to be Today, these guys are the best.
-
MrSanghShell of its former selfThis podcast used to be good. Recently, the “journalism” presented feels like something I could have learned by typing a prompt into ChatGPT. The real estate episode was the last straw for me. It was 30 minutes of blabbering and no substance. It felt like they used AI to write an outline of this episode and then had on some random coworkers talk to fill space.
-
BolloncreekHousingAlways worth a listen, even if I don’t always agree. On the house question, would have been interested to hear about how people feel about paying rent without gaining “value” for their alternative investment.
-
LydA23Usually Love, lacking depth recentlyMaybe its because I just listened to the Diabolical Lies episode on hooters, but to discuss this hooters bankruptcy without mentioning the private equity take over is just a boring cultural take on the financial realities of this country. The only reason Hooters is going bankrupt is because it was looted and sold for parts.

What_The_WHATTTWhat is going on?I’ve been listening for years and I love the show. My real rating is 5 stars, but gave a one because I want to make sure someone over there reads this. What is going on?? Our world is literally falling apart around us and your’re laughing during a show on mass deportations? The dumbest humans in the world are discussing top secret war plans over encrypted messages via their personal phones and you talk about the etiquette of texting??? You are taking serious topics, finding the least offensive, least pertinent, least impactful aspects and focusing your whole show on that. You aren’t explaining anything important. I want you to explain today. What is going on??? It feels like you’ve been infiltrated. You appease the libs by making your title hit the big buzzwords and then you play a 20 minute show about nothing which I have to assume appeases someone high up in your food chain. You are serving water. And you don’t take it seriously- You literally laugh. It’s weird for you to laugh. This is not funny. We are scared. We turn to you for news so that we know whats going on so we can prepare and be informed. And you have abandoned us. I don’t think I can trust vox as a trustworthy news source anymore. Rip.

Isaac J.S.Cliffhanger clickbait on other podcastsCame here from decoder to say your advertising model is alienating potential listeners.
-
HeNelHeMaybe I picked the wrong episodeToday I heard about 5 minutes of this show on my local public radio station. I was interested in the topic (how to protect yourself and your devices when searched or detained) but couldn’t understand the jokey attitude of the host. People are literally being disappeared, and it is terrifying. Think I’ll pass on listening any more to this one.
-
kthxbiaaaBackground musicThe new sound effects really distract from the content because it’s too busy and too loud. I really liked this show but it’s getting harder to keep listening.
-
MinnieCooper11SWhat is with these new sound effects ?This show is decent / some episodes are really informative and others are a bit shallow in content. HOWEVER I have not listened in a while and now I skipped past two episodes for the same reason - weird new sound effects and distracting overlays of music ? Who is the intended target audience for this? Dogs and cats ? Elementary schoolers ? This is insulting to your viewers. Too annoying and cloying to listen to.
-
jab512One of my favesLove this podcast so much!
-
Foxtrot_TrotfoxSound engineering, do betterPlease turn down the music while people are talking. I get it, you want kitsch in your transitions, but fade it back out when people start talking again. I almost had to turn it off because it was making me crazy. Snow White episode, for reference.

benmast19Don't Mess With What WorksI subscribed to Today, Explained, not Explain it to Me with Jonquilyn Hill. Move it to its own feed.
-
GordonSarahThe man who helped kill DEII mean, the guy says his views from his and then he says racist, demonstrably ridiculous things. In a very annoying voice. I do appreciate Vox for doing this though.
-
OnyxdragonheartstoneThat fits. The podcast about the guy that killed DEI sounds just like what you would expect. I am a black gay male and this small little person is what makes it hard for people like me live happily. All of these people think it’s so hard for them because they have to work a little harder. Everything I have gotten I have had to work twice sometimes three times harder. When my husband and I bought a house they didn’t want to put my name on the title be cause it would effect the amount of the loan. He’s white with no job. I have worked two full time jobs for five years. Tell me that race doesn’t matter.
-
Adam241So simple that it actually misses thingsNot enough room for nuance or context when everything is so short and simplified. Find myself wanting to talk back to episodes by interjecting facts and experiences which the conversations are overlooking

smg1234567Patriarchy propagandaHave enjoyed this podcast for years, until they decided to make the single dumbest episode of all time on why “dating is so hard for men” in THIS political climate. May I remind you that women have been stripped of their own reproductive rights and live in a patriarchy that has oppressed them since the beginning of this nations founding. Women are held to higher standards in every facet, while being compensated the least IN EVERY FACET. Absolutely absurd and embarrassing of yall Vox. Goodbye.
-
JJ_Lemieuxthis podcast has lost it (from a liberal)Please do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing yourselves. Used to like this thing. Now, you are just a mouth piece for the NY democrats. All of us NYers have left the chat. Democrats have turned insane. How much do they give you??
-
JulieO11That pesky vocal fry!!Today’s show about the Gulf of Mexico was great until the second half when the female reporter came in with the vocal fry. Reporters on podcasts need to know that especially when one is listening through headphones/airpods, it is unbearable to listen to a voice with the vocal fry. Please try and speak normally!

A&RMamaA Masterclass in BiasJournalism should inform, challenge, and present a well-rounded perspective. Today Explained does none of that. Instead, it peddles a one-sided narrative, masquerading as serious reporting while shamelessly ignoring inconvenient facts and perspectives. With each episode, it becomes painfully clear that this podcast is less about journalism and more about ideological reinforcement. The hosts cherry-pick sources, frame discussions to fit their bias, and completely disregard objectivity in favor of propaganda. Rather than engaging in thoughtful discourse, they resort to moral grandstanding—dismissing dissenting voices as ignorant or dangerous rather than engaging with them in good faith. At a time when trust in media is at an all-time low, Today Explained is a relic of the worst kind—one that epitomizes why audiences are abandoning biased outlets in search of real reporting. If you want insight, balance, or even a shred of intellectual honesty, look elsewhere. The hosts should be ashamed of what they’ve done to journalism.

SqueakypeasHappy belated birthday, TE!My favorite daily news podcast, hands down. I even listen to the reruns. Sean is relatable and funny and human! I bet he’s a blast to hang with. I always picture him wearing a hot pink polo shirt because of the ep about his high school frenemy. I love when he has his mom on the show and, unrelated, the running joke for “This is a NO” is hilarious. I loved Noel on NPR and I’m finally starting to warm up to her hosting style. Love you guys!!
-
jdtadjFar too liberal. Not a fair representation of what is going on. The focus is on pushing a liberal agenda instead of providing news.
-
NotEzraKleinWorth favoritingVery informative and very entertaining, always with a self-deprecating approach to important news stories.
-
Awful gameuknowBias libtardsWho has their tin foil hats on now? Libs are scared because the DEI sham as been ousted and their cushy jobs are in jeopardy.
-
TkotooY’all’s b-dayHAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY “TODAY EXPLAINED” Thanks for all you do, and provide for us, and may you have many more … although in web years, it could still seem short. - s.jxn - ga
-
Nintendo199226Getting Tired of the Non-Serious DeliveryNormally enjoy the show, but lately, with the state of the US, I am finding hard to accept Sean’s “cutesy” and downplaying of what’s happening. I have to take a break from the show. Also, I can’t stand the high falsetto singer. So grating even when I enjoyed the show!
-
CrystalashMilquetoast InfotainmentLiterally laugh out loud about Adam Schiff’s self-delusional comment about one party is “fighting for the working people”, with no pushback from the host. The legitimacy of the entire Liberal consensus is gone bc that’s exactly what Dems didn’t do, and hasn’t been doing for decades. More abysmal future awaits.
-
_krismDem TempPlease look outside X when taking the taking temperature on Democratic postions. For a number of reasons, the noise on X obscures their legitimate concerns and opinions and it’s only getting worse.
-
jln909Great show with too many adsLove the hosts and the format of the show. There are far too many ads though and the ones that have staffer review their experience with a product or service are like nails on a chalkboard.
-
HeratonShort and SweetA great daily podcast. I love starting my day with this and What A Day from Crooked Media.
-
Cyberhippo1Consistently deliversAlways appreciate the show and was inspired to say so after hearing Alissa Walker’s commentary on LA. Not easy to find reliable sources of information regarding LA but she’s legit.
-
Hamsun T.Interesting topics, made cringeI like what they cover and that they churn these out every day. Lousy research and fact-checking. Sound design and editing are hit-or-miss. Alignment with pro-business politics is concerning. Overall, it's a skibidi podcast, 6/10 recommend to friends.

TheWatertreeBroken my trustI have trusted you to provide truthful, honest and intelligent information. Today you broke that trust and embarrassed me. When discussing health and MAHA, the volley between Noel and her guest was compelling. A relief to finally hear both sides of equal merit is long overdue. We need so much more of this equality within the discussion of health, choice, and continuing studies. What is harmful, coercive, and juvenile is calling RFK Jr. using the ‘F’ for Flouride in his name. I have only heard this on NPR, my ONLY source of information and news. Hearing this again on this program caused me to fact check it, only to discover it is a lie. Keep your integrity, apologize, and never do that again. Be the change or be the cause.

ian from madisonNoel King is such a great interviewer!Calley Means was a pedantic, derisive guest and Noel treated him with utmost respect and curiosity. She makes this podcast worth listening to!
-
Mr. CleverCalley MeansGreat podcast most of the time, but Calley Means is a tool who got triggered by every question and you let him run over you, Noel, even after you set up the question as if you were expecting him to flip out. Are we going to have four years of this?
-
Random Nic NameUsed to be goodI used to listen because I thought it was somewhat balanced and informational. Now the language used on the show is juvenile and should be embarrassing for professional journalists.
-
ZonkerwattsAmericaHello, Please note that ‘America’ covers North and South America: two separate continents. The below is incorrect and exclusive of the seemingly intent of your story regarding territories, continents, etc. “Donald Trump says he wants Greenland for America.” Thank you,
-
OMLHar, har, Giggle Giggle Bye Bye DemocracyInsufferable opening. Content far darker than tone- who’s the intended audience here? and why so dumbed down?
-
Chelseamarie082Propaganda (Facebook episode)Discussing transgender and immigrate issues in our country is not hate speech. We should be allowed to have those conversation. This podcast is literally promoting breaking the constitution and is straight propaganda. Omg Facebook is allowed to talk about Trump and conservatives values ooohhhh so scary.
-
CincyLouiseLove episodesI get so much information from your episodes. I really love how you present the daily grind. You’re doing that show about grandparents…Let me tell you, you wanna talk to me about it!
-
(insert sad emoji)Does Altadena not exist?I didn’t hear Sean say Altadena once in the episode about the LA fires. As an Angeleno, I am greatly disappointed that this episode only focuses on the Palisades.
-
DeeeeeedubyaPolitically toothlessInformative and insightful on some cultural topics but their shamelessly toothless reporting on both political parties shows just why no one listens to legacy media. A half hour on Biden’s legacy and not one mention of the billions and billions he spent on foreign wars while the country fell apart at the seams. Useless.

NamsalotGreat BUTGuys, who approved the weird whistle sound effect?! Please stop. It’s creepy and really. Really. Annoying. I hate it. I hate it so much. Otherwise good job, lol.
-
vrhdbbaAndrea KristinsdottirUntil today, I had understood that the episodes were engineered by Andrea Kristin’s daughter, which I found to be a puzzling but you know, hey, the probably just love their mom so much.🤷🏾
-
Epsilon the Plastic BagHighly recommendedIt’s an amazing podcast. It offers nuanced, engaging, and in depth looks into news stories often left out of the front headlines. I enjoy how it examines stories from multiple perspectives, staying analytical and pragmatic. I always look forward to listening.

KcamgwadTrad wife takeoverYou lost me as a listener during the birth control discussion in this episode. Yes, the trad wife movement leans conservative, and yes, it is well known the right has historically been anti contraceptives. But going so far as to position the BC pill as totally safe in this episode, or rather imply that criticism about the health effects of the pill are outlandish is just bad journalism. It is well studied and understood that estrogens are cancer promoting and tons of women (myself included) have hormonal disruptions, fertility issues and general health issues from long term use. So please, put politics aside and report on facts, not emotions.
-
damn__tamSame message thoughRe: assisted suicide, what’s the difference between an implicit vs the explicit message “no one cares” at least enough to do anything helpful 😬
-
JfhbcfjvdvEvie magazineThanks for introducing me to Evie magazine. I just signed up and am gifting subscriptions to my loved ones. Crazy how so many people think women having old school morals and values are bad? What is it hurting?

Sugar WhipsNormalizing Rights Rollbacks w/o Challenging GuestsUsed to like this show. After this most recent election, they’ve made a Quick turn to quiet conservatism or at least complicity in making a rollback of civil sound like a day-to-day affair. It. Is. Not. Y’all really aren’t gonna address that “trad wives” espouse “submitting” to your husband in all ways. Not gonna call into the conversation any ideas that a large swath of people hold in how trad wives basically suggest feminism is radical and being reduced to your child bearing body is a clear form of oppression and getting too close to a Haidmaid’s Tale reality? Nothing at all? Really? Almost exclusively using the Washington Post as source material? Weak sauce. Cowardly. Unsubscribed already. Gonna keep an eye on it, but losing respect by the episode.
