GmtKMkGood but could be betterI highly recommend pitching in for a much better editor. Please.
-
Chiclulu456Great podcast!I love this podcast because I can tell Jessica works really hard to prepare and present the information in a digestible format. I enjoy the forensic science piece of solving crimes so the fact that this focuses on DNA is awesome for me. Thank you for your hard work and please keep it up!
-
tla776Really goodI really love this podcast. I love that the focus are cases that use DNA to solve them.

BschoraFLUFF FACTOR: 34% (OOF!)/ Episode length: 42 min. / Ads + Fluff ⭕️ ⬆️: 14 min. / Avg time between ads: 09 min. / Based on episode: 131. ========================== Though they reveal TOO much in the Description and on social media, it’s my fav podcast. Too much fluff! Also I like to map out the location of crimes to get a visual lay of the land, for some bizarre reason the writers routinely get STREET SUFFIXES WRONG. No joke! I swear it must happen every third episode.
-
OnefahqLove the formatJust started listening. So might change, I’ve heard the first 3 episodes and love how the host goes through the scene detailing every piece of evidence found and where it was located. And how she went from beginning to end so everything was in chronological order

Savage_625Volusia County pronunciationVolusia is pronounced with a hard SH, as in SHUSH, not ASIA. Vol-oo-SHa FYI
-
AvstelugaUsed to be good....The host wil say men and man over and over but refuses to say women or women? Pregnant individual or pregnant person...it's pregnant WOMAN. Quit erasing women!
-
jipjopflopThe Best. Period. This is truly the best American crime podcast. Excellent research (the host actually speaks to investigators involved in most, if not all, of the cases presented), clear narration and always respectful to the families and all involved. This is the only podcast I actually have a paid subscription to because it’s that good.

Prairie Rose McGeeA crime podcast with answersThank you for producing this podcast! I have been listening since the first episode and appreciate that there are concrete answers to who committed these crimes and not just wild speculation, like other shows. It is heartening to see how much work goes into to solving these cold cases and fascinating to learn about the advances in technology that are changing our ideas of who commits crimes.

this show used to be goodWould be a lot better if host’s liberal bias wasn’t so obviousDecent podcast but anytime the host can insert her liberal leanings she does without hesitation.

Katie KarlsonFascinating and informativeDNA: ID is one of my favorite podcasts. Jessica does an impressively thorough job researching and presenting each case, with intricate details and a fascinating glimpse into the science of genetic genealogy. If you like true crime, excellent reporting, and/or forensics, you cannot beat DNA: ID. Jess also has a clear and straightforward narrative style with the occasional dry joke or clever aside. Really smart, compelling show.

DPM72Well doneVery thorough and straightforward. Reminds me of Casefile done by a female for an American audience.

EmmmmzeeeeDetailsI love how detailed the episodes are and the host’s delivery is exceptional

HaTcHJeSsIe14LOVE❤️I found this podcast after I had finished listening to unresolved. For me to find a good podcast is all about the voice and how they pronounce words. It was hard to find a good one until I came across this one. I have now almost listened to all the episodes minus the doe I.D. Episodes, I am planning on listening to them once I’ve listened to all the other episodes

Uber IrritatedThey’re coming to get youLearned of this podcast through Murder in my Family (another good one) and absolutely love the structure and style. It is very factual and leans heavily on primary sources. Interviewing Paul Holes early on provided instant credibility. The episodes don’t end with a mystery, the criminals are outed (sometimes posthumously) and, best of all, there are answers for the families. This has become my favorite true crime podcast and I enjoy hearing the back catalog. Hope the formula doesn’t change.

nancyccrossStellar Podcast! One of my top 3 listens. Excellent podcast in all ways.

Craig B. AdamsWell researched, written, and narratedThis podcast expertly reviews cold cases where forensic investigative genetic genealogy provided the leads that helped law-enforcement solve the case or identify missing persons or victims of violent crimes.
-
DisheveledblondeFascinatingI love this podcast and subscribed right away. Jessica is such a pro and presents everything in a clear and thorough way. Even the shorter episodes are more informative than long series I have listened to.

MaggiewichitaDisgustedReading police reports as if they are bedtime stories aren’t respectful of families or loved ones. You should always contact families before deciding to sensationalize & monetize their trauma as well as their daily suffering. Krista Martin’s life is not yours to speculate on. Her murder is not yours to make quips about. We lived it. Others have lived theirs. Look up the word ethics. Then try to live it. True crime isn’t entertainment it’s education. It’s awareness. I hope there comes a day where these types of behaviors have consequences.

JasonCManleySimply the best. When I first discovered DNA: ID a couple of years ago, I routinely found myself thinking “I wish they could all be this well researched and presented”. Unfortunately, they aren’t. Some hosts have a good comportment, but their material is lacking. Others are wonderfully researched and thoughtful, yet they lack any “presence”. Thankfully, there is a podcast where all good things coalesce. That podcast is this one – DNA: ID. Ms. Bettencourt routinely makes me wish there was some way she could do *every single podcast* I listen to. Her voice is engaging and pleasant. Her cadence is easy to follow, to me. She is so thorough that I often feel like there isn’t any other detail I might need to know about a particular case after having listened to her exhaustive, yet easy to consume, presentations. The wonderful aural presentation would not mean anything, given the subject, without her humanity. And that is what shines through above all else. I sense that she “lives” with these cases as she is researching them, and I’m sure they all have a lasting impact on her heart. Whether she knows that or not, that does come through in the podcasts. For her, I could almost say this seems like it’s a “calling”. She’s that good. While it may not be at the top of the true crime ‘charts’ (silly such a thing exists); DNA: ID is the best show in the “genre” on your favorite podcast feed.

jpro650Commercials are jarring and unannouncedLove this podcast. One of the best on my playlist. My only critical feedback is the commercials are unannounced and like ten times louder than the podcast narration. I usually wear ear buds and if I’m not able to quickly adjust the volume it’s like getting stabbed in the ear. Please fix this. Thank you and keep up the good work.
-
RineerjennThe best true crime podcast.By far my favorite podcast. I pay for the patron. I’ve listened to podcast for about 5 years and this is my first review. The host is awesome I love the way she lays the crimes out. The only thing I wish I’d that there were more episodes.

SAB133Why won’t you fix the ads??Content is great, but the ads are insanely loud. Multiple people have complained about it but you won’t do anything about it. Do you hate your listeners?
-
patsycrimesterSlow downI started listening to this podcast from the very beginning and it is one of my favorites. I only have one criticism. I've noticed during the newer episodes that Jessica is speeding up the dialogue so quickly, it is sometimes hard to understand what she is saying. it's as if she's just hurrying to get the podcast over with, and they are too good for that.
-
halls home inspection LLCBest crime podcastHas to be one of the best podcasts ever. They bring the stories to life and learning how they use dna to solve 50yr old plus cases is amazing thanks for all you do.
-
bactayToo many adsI used to really enjoy this podcast but now they have soooo many ads. I get having some but it feels like there is more time devoted to ads than the actual case.
-
KShockletOne of the best!I love this podcast! I think solving crime using DNA is fascinating and the ability to give families closure after all the years is a special thing. If you are looking for a deep dive into crime and how it’s solved, this is the podcast for you!
-
Simply A SisterExcellentIt’s great to hear answers for long term cases. I am sure this helps the families and I am so glad that DNA and genealogical research is being used to solve cold cases. Thank you for bringing these stories to light!
-
Duckhunter0623My #1 podcast!Absolutely love the shows.
-
EmmaleenicoleForever fanI have been listening since the first season and my Mondays revolve around the posting of each new episode. Honestly I don’t have a great attention span for any show but somehow this one does it. A bonus to the great content Jessica B. has the most soothing voice!
-
Lily/ValleyDefinitely 5starsThis is a must-listen-to podcast. No fluff, no cheesy humor, no annoying anything. Straightforward, interesting stories told by a solid, believable voice. Concise, intelligent design. Always at the top of my “what’s your favorite podcast” answers.
-
Am1978Absolutely fantastic true crime podcastThis is one of my favorite true crime podcasts. All of the cases are thoroughly investigated, there is a thoughtful consideration for the victims in each case and Jess does a great job at describing each event in detail. I also very much enjoy the connection to forensic genealogy which isn’t a topic covered in a lot of true crime podcasts.
-
greenpalmGreat Solo podcast! Peaceful Research based reportingThis is my new favorite podcast. Jessica just tells the story in a low-key no-stress banter free way. She does occasionally insert a little opinion or sarcasm, but she only says what we’re all thinking anyway, and I love her for it. I really had no idea that genetic genealogy was being used as much as it is. I’ve been very reluctant to have my own DNA done, because of personal fears about an invasion of privacy, but hearing this podcast, and learning how hard investigators work to match up murderer’s to relatives as distant at 3rd cousins, makes me wonder if more of us should go ahead and add our data… I’ll continue to consider it, anyway. I’d like to see every cold case solved and every John

Tedm1974fvLove this show!Great in-depth episodes in with justice for the families at the end of every story.
-
BIGWillyyWonkaInformativeAlmost too much information, but by the end you really feel like you know the victim and the whole case very throughly. Great research
-
addicted true crimeThe Best True Crime podcastJessica does a great job explaining those complicated cold cases, its ease to follow the stories how the bad people get caught by their own DNA left on the crime scene, This lady has a beautiful voice! It’s a great great podcast! Trust me once you listen to one episode, you will want more!
-
SavAngieDNA ID something unique & originalI’ve always been interested in science & how it can be used so many years later to solve these crimes & give the families of victims some sort of closure. Jess is an excellent host & all of the episodes I have listened to have been extremely interesting & well procured.
-
BiororzMy favorite true crime podI love true crime podcasts, but the cases that remain unsolved take their toll. I also struggle with the pods that attempt to be funny or entertaining as I like hearing all the facts without a lot of nonsense. I am also a biology teacher, so the DNA aspects of this pod fascinate me. Jessica does such an amazing, thorough job of laying out the details of the crime as well as providing a great description of the victims. Her style is more cold case than my favorite murder, but I appreciate her professionalism. I have loved all of her episodes, and at the end of every one, the case is solved… using DNA. I definitely recommend giving this one a listen.
-
EmilyRoseWilliamsMy favorite podcastThis is next level true crime. The research is impeccable and narration/storytelling focuses on the science instead of sensationalizing the violence. If you’re one of the bad guys, they’re coming for you!
-
ArleitheHoomanMy Favorite True Crime Podcast!Jessica is a fantastic host with a voice that’s easy to listen to. She does her research and always seems to know (and answer to the best of her ability) what questions the listener will have.
-
Amandaj88They’re Coming For YouI have absolutely loved this podcast ever since I found it through The Prosecutors podcast when Jessica came on as a guest host. I have binged through previous episodes and stay up-to-date and look forward to new episodes weekly. Genetic Geneology is absolutely fascinating and the way Jessica provides explanations of the workings and uncovering of lineage is perfect for people from all walks of life to comprehend. Great job!!
-
DLR LPRMy Absolute FavoriteI look forward to this podcast every week!
-
Trish CeeI never miss an episodeThis podcast is a fave! Love the deep research and amazing details that lead up to solving a cold case. I even bought a sweatshirt with the DNA:ID logo on the front and “If you’re one of the bad guys, they’re coming for you.“ Thank you Jessica! You’re mostly “all business, but I hear when you insert your opinion and humor into some of the episodes.
-
R.PhDNA IDThis is the one podcast I listen to as soon it drops. It is so satisfying and gratifying that these cold cases get solved.
-
TurnageM616Great PodcastI am always amazed how science is bringing these criminals to justice. I’m fascinated every show. Thanks for such a great show!
-
ChamremnOne of my favorite podcasts!Jessica does an excellent and thorough job of researching the cases she covers! I love hearing about these old cases being solved with the use of genetic genealogy.
-
mr. uniorn buttStraight up no bull! Best one out there! This my type of podcast! The presenter gives in depth facts about the case and how dna helped solve the cases. If you like one-person presenter podcasts as I do, you’ll love this one! I can’t wait for each episode! Also, she makes me laugh with her spot on snark every time!
